Genichiro uses the Mortal blade of life or whatever it's called, it's revealed that it can cross realms and bring back the dead.
Gen's last wish was to restore Ashina to its former glory, he sacrifices himself because he's too much of a shitter and lets Isshin take over.

His immortal blade is the "Open Gate" His will was to see Ashina rules by his father. So using Dragons blood he opened a gate in his body and brought his father back.

Reposting from another thread. For his second phase, keep deflecting and keep your distance and let him finish his combos. When you see a thrust coming at the end of a combo, mikiri it.

For his 3rd phase, reverse the lightning.

His 1st phase has some easy openings. When he charges run at him, deflect the first strike and jump the sweep. If it's the 360 wind slash (not sure if he does it on his 1st or 2nd phase) you can jump on his head to avoid it.

never got this. how are the most basic level ashina grunts faster and more agile than a master shinobi? also just noticed that genichiro can load up and shoot his bow faster than it takes you to completely one sword swing.

1. Phase: git gud
2. Phase: cheese him with the umbrella+running away combo
3. Phase: Same as 2 just do a lightning reversal from time to time

Sekiro has no armor and was sickly weiner before being made immortal. Emma comments on your face wondering if it was a birthmark of a symptom. And when you first start the game you are essentially as strong as a grunt.

Good, hopefully you’ve realized it’s a tedious time-waster game.

Isshin was an incredible final boss. I really feel as though beating him proved that I completely mastered all the mechanics. Only criticism is that he almost never sweeps, so you're pretty much guaranteed a Mikiri counter every time.
Does Bloodborne have bosses this good?
