The Japanese voice acting is far better than the English voice acting. If you didn't choose Japanese the first time, you owe it to yourself to play it again with Japanese.

voice acting in Zelda was a mistake

I'm going to fucking play it in Spanish. Fuck you.

This. Maybe the Japanese version was good... but the English was like a Shonen Jump cartoon.

Think of all the money and man hours that produced such a lackluster performance that could've been put into a different part of the game.

I heard Spanish and German were both pretty good. German might even fight best seeing as Hyrule is based off of Medieval Europe.

Playing with muted voices is the superior experience.

The JP voices are just ok nothing special, its just that the English voices are extremely bad.

>you owe it to yourself to play it again
Oh fuck no, I couldn't be bothered to finish my first playthrough.

There are more languages than English and Japanese, you know? I prefer playing games in languages I understand so I just went for German and it was pretty good overall.

Zeldas voice was terrible in the eng version. Whyd they cast an old lady as a teenager

>Playing Zelda for voice acting or storyline at all

Jesus Christ the state of zoomers

fpbp

French is best. Get rek'd weebs.

I'm fucking glad I only got to play the game AFTER the Jap-dub DLC had become available. God god the English dub is HORRIBLE.

believe me, the English audio is far below the average compared to just about any other language.

there's like 5 minutes total of voice acting in the entire game who gives a shit

Id much rather hear
>Rivari torunado ok da
Than whatever the fuck he says in english which I forgot but I know it was annoying

pic related its op

>Collecting korok seeds in Japanese for 300 hours is better than collecting korok seeds in English for 300 hours
Doubt.jpg

What voice acting? The game only has a voice script the size of a notebook page

why would you go around collecting all the korok seeds?

who gives a shit if you have to deal with it once in a 100 hour game

I hear it every 5 minutes because Im constantly using that power to move around, its the only guardian power worth using and that I had active so as not to make the game too easy

English Zelda sounds like she's the same age as her dad. And they have different accents on top of that, which makes zero sense. The eng voice director for BOTW should legit be fired

I wish we got this instead of the actual story

don't worry, I did

I really, really hope "old man" Link as shown in this concept art happens at some point

>The Japanese voice acting is far better than the English voice acting.

Thats only because you don't speak Japanese. I bet Japanese people think its cringe as fuck too.

>I wish we got this instead of the actual story

If they had made that and then showed you concept art of Calamity Ganon and giant fucking robot beasts and killer spider drones you'd be saying "I-I wish we had gotten that instead!".

Calamity Ganon in his weird wispy wraith form? Sure
Calamity Ganon in the dumb spider robot form we actually fight him in? Fuck no

Am I the only one who loved spider ganon?

That's irrelevant. I may not understand Japanese, but I do know English well enough to know that the English dub of BotW is awful. The CDi Zeldas have better performances.

>Zelda but with time traveling shenaningans ala Star Trek
sounds nice

nothing wrong with voice acting as long as it's good

is it worth picking up dlc for first playthrough?

nah, it's pretty much all post game stuff.
play through the main game til you're satisfied, and if you want a little something extra, get the dlc.

>not playing with the superior Latin American dub
Disgusting

Why the fuck was Zelda’s voice actress putting on a terrible fake British accent? Who okayed that? It doesn’t make sense on any level and it sounded like shit.

As long as the voice fits the character better it doesn't matter if you understand it or not

dont like the voice acting regardless of the langauge. just like MHW grunts and the occassional "HIIIIIII" is all thats needed.

user I...

Attached: OoT.jpg (1132x768, 130K)

I was thinking about a young link meeting an old grizzled Link with a long grey beard and all but yeah OoT already had time travel

Mipha's Russian voice is like giving your temporal lobe a handjob.

>The Japanese voice acting is far better than the English voice acting

Like any other game. Anglos are just bad at voice acting.

revali sounds like a literal 14 year old in french, the smugness is there but jp revali sounds so much more dignified and like a warrior

post a video

i don't understand russian but honestly going through all the dubs, russian is somehow the closest to the jp one in terms of quality for me, slav weebs never cease to impress me

Not him but here:
youtube.com/watch?v=NarGSg7hHYc

I'll say
Italian > Japanese > Russian > French > Spanish > German > English

Her JP voice is pretty solid.

Urbosa and Revali were fine. Everyone else was lackluster.

youtu.be/QFQoD5qWkkE?t=828

Pretty much every language except English is good. Same with Zelda, what a godawful voice "actress."

>people still dont know spanish dub is the best
Jajajajajaja losers

spanish is an ugly language

I'll probably end up replaying BotW at some point, and I don't want to subject myself to the English dub again. I'm fluent in Spanish, so should I play the LatAm Spanish dub, or the original JP?

I liked the sound of the Spanish (Latin America) dub the best overall.

most retarded thread on Yea Forums right now

before anyone takes this seriously, you should know that the opinions itt are only that of mouth-breathing sperglords that can't stop sucking japanese cock

the english is fine, some of it good even

Nah, it's pretty weak, especially compared to the other languages.

Why can't you fucking roll in this game?

Japan is famous for its voice acting quality, that's a fact

go back westaboo

>the english is fine, some of it good even
Yike.

The jap VAing is completely mediocre and really demonstrates modern Nintendo's complete lack of creative chops. All the dialogue sounds even more stilted when you realise it's the same tired cliches you here in literally everything Japanese, without even a figleaf of character. Zelda is intolerable either way, and the Old Man sounds retarded.

This, in fact just letting Nintendo fuddy duddies think they're great film/cutscene directors in general is a nightmare. All the good writing in things like Super Metroid, Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, Paper Mario 1-3, Pikmin 1 and 2, seems to be lost beneath so much cag. It's like Miyamoto thinks the gay cutscenes in the New Super Mario Bros, Games - the ones where no-one says anything, people make grunts and whoops to emote, Bowser Jr. stomps his foot a lot and then something childish happens - are the pinnacle of Nintendo output. How of Nintendo's prior plot greatness was actually good translating work and us western fans seeing what the devs themselves didn't or couldn't is an open question.

The estrogenic-bean people would not have tolerated a Link design this heroic and manly.

I thought he was alright. My critical assessment of the game doesn't shave anything to say about the Ganon portion.

Attached: 1551035715314.jpg (201x219, 11K)

And Majora's Mask, and Oracle of Ages. And Skyward Sword. And arguably Wind Waker as well. One thing that the Zelda series has in abundance, even if it isn't used for much, is time travel.

Heck, part of the reason why A Link to the Past is named as such relates to beta ideas for the game involving time travel and a futurist era with Link riding a motorbike. The Master Cycle is a reference to this. Time was a big deal even in the final game, what with the link between the ancient era 100 years ago with Ganon getting sealed away and modern day Hyrule. Same fucking plot as BotW when you analyse it, marking another notch on the "Nintendo is obsessed with like 3 recycled plots" checklist.

My own master redesign for BotW 2.0 involves time travel back to the 100 years ago chaos era and involves changing the past to salvage the fucked up future Complete with a certain ability to loop time and a mission to save each Champion from dying to a Blight Ganon. The best of OoA and MM in one was my intention.

>ganondork
>again
Yawn!

It's more like Zelda is just so ass in english that other languages are better by default.
