I enjoyed Bastion since it was kino as fuck. That's about it.
The rest just seem either like a cash ins or always have some shitty political agenda.

I enjoy some indie games, Bastion, Hotline Miami, and Risk of Rain.
But most indie games are "2 DEEP 4 U" or "EMOTIONAL WALKING SIMULATOR 20xx"

Either they steal ideas from retro games for nostalfags or try too hard to be deep and artsy bullshit. There is a good middle ground, but you have to search more for it.

I'm assuming you don't actually engage with the Indie community at all. Those are just Yea Forums spam points that convince the ignorant.

There's nothing wrong with games being art, but it is more the concern of the game designer than the consumer. When game developers don't think game design is an art, unique from illustration, music, and storytelling, you get games with derivitive mechanics that are highly polished. Or in terms you will better understand: The AAA game emvironment.

I think Gunvolt, and Copen in particular really requires advance knowledge of the enemy locations to do very well as being hit at all is so punishing (and at the same time not at all because of prevasion which should not be a thing at all even if you can turn it off). I think it would benefit a lot from a bigger screen.

I can't get past this fucker on hard mode, it's incredible how hard this game gets without skills and nerfed prevasion.

Quite a few indie devs are unhinged trannies, but luckily most of the more successful indie games (ie Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, Risk of Rain) don't have that kind of influence.
If you go looking for it you'll find it, though.

The relocalization of GV1 still had to keep consistent with all the changed names and terms from the first localization. GV2 was still localized by the same people who initially did 1 (though at least with no cuts this time) and it's also fairly liberal, though not as much.

Once you're trying to score attack the stages like the game really wants you to, the existence of prevasion doesn't matter anyway.

Switch version lets you see more and I'd say it's enough with the way the enemy placement is designed.

I'm saying Tetris is a greater work of art in terms of game mechanics than Gone Home, which pales in comparison to its forebear Myst.

I think games are art, and their artistic nature comes with the mechanics/activity than the elements around it. Not to deminish visuals, music and story: One of my favorite games is Killer7. I just think something like Dustforce is a greater piece because its mechanics are excellent.

If not, abuse gunvolt's bait mode (forgot the name). If there's an attack that's hard to dodge, spam recharge and you'll phase through everything.

Too limited of a budget to convey feelings of satisfaction to the player to their fullest.
I'm not a graphicsfag, quite the opposite, but i'm pretty nitpicky about camera, and I rarely if ever like a game being too zoomed out, and that's what a lot of Indie games unfortunately do.

See this is the thing that killed this project I doubt Inafune is a hack he created Zero after all but having creativity without someone directing the game towards a goal in time (publisher do this) can go so wrong if the game director cannot measure himself up whit the budget, for example look at death stranding Kojima for all his talent cannot respect the budget or just settle in a decision unless some else forces him to do so.

Acquire seven gems found throughout the main stages.
Give them all to Joule. She'll make a necklace item to wear that does not provide prevasion.
Equip the necklace before doing the final mission, and never take it off during. (You can't start the mission and then equip the necklace. It has to already be equipped.)
Note: This is impossible to do on your first run because the end-game begins once you finish the last main stage, and Joule is kidnapped before the last gem can be given to her.

Trivia: In the original draft for the game, the bad end was the only end. Not only did Gunvolt just die, but him killing Nova also caused the defense barrier protecting Japan to go down. The game was to end with Asimov gleefully watching as an alliance of foreign nations commenced an invasion, starting with missile strikes. (This concept would partly be recycled into Eden in the second game, and the G7 being named after missiles is a callback to it) Naturally, the scenario writer was told to go back and change it.

I think ASG 1 is worse, to be honest. There's not a single character that is better off at the end of the game.

How is it? I saw some complaints about the AI in steam reviews but no other real criticism asides from that

The AI is really dumb. You can have a redneck trying to blast you and the cops will have no reactions at all despite that you're hiding behind them and the redneck is also trying to shoot the cops. There's also some bugs and glitches where I had two clothes in my inventory for some reason, that makes me easily reduce my wanted level by instantly switching my clothes. Also the missions structures and design can be incredibly tedious for most people.

But it filled that nostalgia for GTA clones from early 2000s. Not GTA 1/2, but the clones from that era like Payback or Gameloft's Gangstar on mobile phones. It's still a competent topdown GTA clone albeit it's not as good as CW. The physics are really good and I really like the fact that you can crash through on almost everything, like stone walls and fences. The shooting is okay but with the ragdolls it really fucking fun to just shoot people around. Also the story is enjoyable and simple, even if it's just very cliche.
