General optimization improvements are a given, but the movement has been overhauled twice now so just moving around doesn't feel like garbage. Russians were finally added with some maps that seem pretty nice, but I haven't played it enough yet to know how it really is. I uninstalled it after about a week like you, since I didn't have an SSD and the optimization was beyond fucked, and by the time it was fixed the game had low population.

FACEIT was just added, if you're into competitive, too. WT has gotten loads of improvements.
For some thing that I've noticed that weren't fixed, UW still has a Vert- crop (which can be fixed through setting FOV in console, but that's still shitty), and ADS sens actually matches your normal sens now by default, but there's no option to adjust it specifically for scoped weapons.

This infuriates me. Only a few games, like Sudden Strike and Panzers get it right. Of course people want to use the infamous and powerful late war weapons, but they weren't in use for most of the war.

This game is an arcadey FPS, which is probably a decent excuse for it to be set later.
