All mine wisdom tooths grew large ones, 2 of them a bit tilted(and looks like one of them caused me some pain), 1 of them is too tilted and require some serious stuff, and one is okay and almost perfect, no need to extract it.

All my wisdom tooth were rotten.
I still have one left that I need to pull off, I'm afraid the dentist might actually have to cut open my gums quite a bit to take it out since it's burrowed deep in there, with the top part literally being razed off and almost untouchable thank to the rot just caving it in and making it easily crumble from any sort of high or powerful enough pressure.

Had both on my left side removed about a month ago. The surgery was satisfying, I could hear the teeth being crushed and pulled from inside my skull.
Felt absolutely no pain on recovery but the worst part was the liquid diet. It fucking sucks. No matter how much I ate I still felt hungry and lost so much weight I turned into a literal skeleton and dry socket paranoia is real
Still have my right side to remove but dentist said I don't need to worry about it any time soon thank fucking god

Had a similar experience. Even chuckled during the proceedure a lot because all the smoke coming out of my mouth from them drilling was a little amusing to me.

Excruciating pain, easily an eight or a nine on a scale of 1-10. Ice and painkillers won't help because even in the best case, you're going to have extreme pressure bearing down on the highly sensitive nerves in your teeth. Worst case, it compromises the alignment of your teeth, causing the nerves in your molars to die and potentially get infected -- this will result in you having to choose between getting 4 more teeth extracted, or dying of sepsis.
See a dentist ASAP. Get them taken out one side at a time if you have to, even if you don't have dental insurance; general health insurance will cover extractions because it's technically a surgical procedure, not a dental one.

Unless you have good insurance, you're blowing a good 600 dollars or so (in my area it's this expensive) for a full root canal (which includes a crown, FYI. Yeah, you need to get the crown, or your root canal's tooth is gonna fall apart and rot in your mouth over time)

I'm 33 and have one of them impacted. There's space between it and the nearest molar (gotta take extra care to clean it), no issues so far, but if there's any pressure I'm calling a dentist immediately. Hopefully it's done moving.

the standard procedure is injecting local anesthetic, then slicing up the gums that are located over the wisdom teeth, in most cases if the tooth is angled inwards they'll just pry the tooth open to split it into several more manageable parts, aka they split the tooth in half. then they suck up the tooth parts with a vacuum tube, clean it up real good in there, then sew it up with melting milk thread that'll go away in a period of time.

If the dentist is good, there's no excruciating pain, the most you feel is pressure and it feels like it'll escalate but it never does.

The worst part of it is post-operation, your gums are going to be sore for a while and all you can have is water, I have to wear a denture for 24 hours before I can take it out and let my gums rest.
I only have about 6 hours to go right now.

You'll get through it, user. You're going to suffer immensely during the first 24-48 hours of recovery, I recommend sleeping as much as you can, after that it's all up hill from there.
No more toothe aches, no more cold bothering your teeth, no more popcorn kernals bothering you, no more little scraps of meat that get stuck between your teeth bothering you ever again.

Had them removed at that age because 2 of them destroyed the neighboring teeth through pressure. Just check if the gap between the teeth is to small to floss. Had all 4 removed and needed 2 root canals. I had to pay for the root canals myself(400€ per tooth), because free healthcare is a meme in Germany.

Everyone seems to get them removed, I find this weird.

Got mine removed while still in the Army. Joined at 17, so I never had to deal with this healthcare shit. It gives a lot of perspective as to how fucked up this whole system is. My son banged his mouth on a countertop and chipped his tooth. Taking him to the hospital ate up all my allotted insurance. Then I thought I broke my leg (I didn't) and went to the hospital and all they did was look at it and say "nah, you're fine" and that shit cost me $600. Shit's fucked up.
