Switch Pro hacking

>Get a Switch on release
>Man this is fucking great, having a blast
>Stop playing it for a while
>March 2019
>Spoiled little cousin wants a PS4 to play Fortnite, his parents ask if I'll swap my PS4 for his Switch, go for it
>Realise I can hack this one and still have a clean one if it goes wrong
>Spend an afternoon hacking it and messing around with the CPU/GPU settings
>Running Docked settings in handheld mode
>Overclocking hard in docked mode
>Doom, BotW, Splatoon 2 (offline) and Mario Odyssey all run better, BotW in particular looks sharper and doesn't have that weird stutter anymore when you traverse the world too quickly on the bike and Splatoon 2 looks to be 1080p at all times going by there being no change in resolution when looking at the sky and back
>Handheld it gets a little warmer than normal but otherwise shit is fine

I have a feeling the "Switch Pro" is literally going to be an overclocked Switch with a better cooling system and maybe 64gb of storage, and Nintendo is going to get away with charging £350 for it.

Anyone else done this? Took me literally an afternoon to watch a tutorial, get the files, and get the thing up and running.

Nintendo already rolled out an update that raises the clocking speed in handheld mode in some games. BotW and Odyssey now load extremely fast, for instance.

I heard something about rolling out another docked setup for the CPU, MK11 apparently uses it at all times rather than just for loading like BotW

I watched a video on it, if you could take the back off the switch an add a more exotic cooling method like a 20$ CPU heatsink you could get that Tegra T1 back up to Nvida stock speeds which is like 1300mhz where the switch runs the GPU at around 600-700mhz. If you did this and taped it up together and never cared about playing on the go you could make the home console Nintendo clearly didn't want to make

I'd be interested in seeing how this plays out with a breadth of titles, but at the moment I'm only really seeing improvements in games that run with unlocked resolutions.

Sounds nice OP. Don't want to hack my switch due to it being the only one I has, and that I can't go online either.

Nintendo has already recently unlocked higher handheld clocks. The only reason it was so severely underclocks to begin with was battery life.

I was in the same case as you a week ago user.
What I did is buy a SX OS license at $20.
With that license, you get EmuNAND (it means that you can place the whole Custom Firmware on your sd card), then you can play offline any games you want.

Once you're done playing pirated games, turn off the console, pull out the sd card and launch your switch normally.
Nintendo can't find anything to ban you because :
-you were playing offline
-the entirety of the hack is on the sd card (which isn't in the console anymore as you see)

The only thing missing is the possibility to play Pirated games Online but I don't think it'll become true one day because Nintendo truly improved even tho people here laughed at the paperclip hack.

So basically :
-pirate any solo player game (like astral chain, fire emblem three houses...)
-purchase multiplayer games to enjoy online (example : Pokémon Sword & Shield)

Apparently Mortal Kombat has the new higher clock.

I tested Mortal Kombat and the game runs pretty good.

I can do that with any switch?

Enter your switch serial number there and post the result here.

I hacked with atmosphere. Owned the switch a year and have never played online. I use my pc for online gaming, not even on my PS4. So an offline hacked device with the full library is damn good to me

I overCOCKED it too
Though there's a limit before it gets all unstable.
Maybe there's a way to increase vcore to further push clocks.

It's annoying there's no overclocking on SXOS, so you need to choose between overclocking and a ban.

>paying to pirate
Why not just pirate the piracy software?

because it's convenient

Because the pirates actually have good security, unlike Nintendo/Nvidia.

I mean you can use Atmosphere for free and do the same stuff but don't get surprised if you're banned one day.
I did pay $20 but at least I'm done with Switch piracy.

Because there is no cracked version of SX OS. People were laughing at those who bought SX OS, saying we'll get a free one soon because some attention whores said they're working on it but they never got anywhere. Atmosphere (the competitor to SX OS) was ran by a moralfag and a bunch of trannies but I think they got rid of most trannies. It's free and you can install .nsp (digital) games but it's unsafe and can get you banned. I dunno if they got emunand working yet as the moralfag promised to make it last year but then went and said that emunand will be used for piracy by many so he isn't prioritising it anymore. The Switch hacking scene is such a fucking shitshow that I left and never looked back.

>>Running Docked settings in handheld mode
This shit alone is enough, the only other thing I'd want is better build quality and cooling for the console and for the joy-con to stop drifting.

So as long as you keep all the shit on the SD card, you're ban-proof like on the 3DS?

Yeah you're probably right which makes me feel better about buying my Switch like a month before that whole rumor started. Glad I didn't hold out though cause it's a great console.

I haven't actually pirated anything on it
