that's what makes BW better than SC2. units look weak or strong depending on where and how they engage.
Like, 3 tanks vs. 5 dragoons the dragoons just crush the tanks so easily when they start to dive on them. but watching them supported by a couple of vultures and marinesand they run over vast numbers of dragoons.

Pretty much every unit is "weak alone", but upgraded Goons have excellent range and a degree of mobility. Not sure why would you measure a unit's ability through its 1v1 prowess anyway.

No joke, I'm currently a D-level player of Terran and I am still graduating from the safe Siege Expand into trying to do the greedy 1 Rax FE against Protoss, but Dragoon pressure is fantastically hard and PvT is a damn difficult matchup at my level.
Idk if watching Ample fuck up against early dragoons so hard should make me feel better about how even pros find it hard or just feel bad for him because damn he's dropping the ball so hard.

If you're having trouble at TvP at D you need to work on a lot, most toss there won't even have the APM to deal with moving across the map let alone the macro. TVP is one of the easier D level matchups.

I suggest starting to do some cheesy and micro intensive builds since that's really hard for protoss to deal with.

Most Tosses I lose to have the APM at my level (180-200) and I usually suffer from constant pressure, my army gets ambushed because the Toss has Obs everywhere, and although I paranoidally prepare for the Recall I still have a lot of trouble with Arbiter play.
That said, I ain't giving up and I don't believe Toss is OP, I just feel like it's not an easy matchup for T. I feel like I lose a lot more than the Protoss and that I have to prepare the battlefield a lot by sieging in time and having mines in place before the armies clash.

As opposed to TvZ sure, PvZ is also pretty easy at D. You shouldn't be letting the Protoss control the map like that, you're the one with all the scans and the ability to control the map with mines and if you can get your 3rd before they've gotten their 4th you should just win. Honestly I suggest you add someone and find a practice partner and practice some PvT if you're having trouble with TvP so you can actually understand just how oppressive mech can be and how any tiny fuckup on the part of the protoss is just devastating. Your 180-200 APM must also be mostly spam if you're having trouble quick sieging and mine dropping since you really only need 150APM. Dealing with Arbiter play is just hard though, it's pretty hard for Protoss to actually get to that tech though if you're doing your job right.

I'm just going off my experience getting to B back in the day but it just has a lot to do with the way mechanics develop. Usually in C a lot of players would off race just to learn what actually gives them trouble in whatever matchup they're having problems with at the time whereas D ranked players usually don't know more than having memorized cookie cutter builds which makes their mid and especially late games soft.

I'm not quite saying face rolled but in a straight fight most protoss are going to just be straight a moving so as long as your positioning was fine you're pretty much just going to clean up. You might see an occasional intentional mine drag or zealot bomb but that's it.

It's pretty even in C and B though I'll say I felt the biggest difference in B when you get to the more complicated games and protoss is more likely to be able to pull off higher tech shit.

I used to actually play Zerg a lot, but the reason I stopped was that, while I love the race in all respects, I fell into the habit of overdroning, not being punished for it, and then spending 2500/2500 minerals/gas all at once by massing Ultras, and I got to C that way, but my play has always felt painfully sloppy outside of pretty decent Muta micro shenanigans, so my resolve was to pick a race with more traditional macro.
I might do some Protoss off-racing once I get more consistent with Terran (it's really hard to decide on a main in this game, all the three races are cool) so that I can understand the Protoss perspective more as well.

I think that might be how passive people play now days, when I was playing FE had only recently become THE pvz strat and I remember winning almost every pvz by just using an old 12/12 2 gate because a lot of zergs had problems balancing drone/army production until B where I had to actually adapt myself. I felt like TvZ was a complete cluster fuck at the time though since SK Terran was the king but Muta timing attacks were brutal.

Like I said, it's best just to find a practice partner and work the matchups you need to work on no matter what. Trying to play ZvP taught me a lot about how easily you can fuck over a zerg by making them over commit their larva to an early army because I got punished like a mother fucker whenever I did.
