>hold off on getting a playstation 4 because I was waiting for death stranding and the last of us 2 to come out (with bloodborne being the only game that is out that I want to play but one game doesn't justify buying a console for it) >now it's 2019 and they're already making plans on the ps5
>WAAAH I'MA POOR KID AND I DONT WORK SO NOW I'M MAD THAT THEY WILL REPLACE A CONSOLE AFTER 6 YEARS
Fuck off kid.
Isaiah Butler
why would I be mad knowing that I'll be playing ps4 games on superior hardware?
Brody Brown
>tfw no gf (female) with a dick Why was I born in this timeline?
Grayson Thomas
seriously what the fuck is this generation
the 4 man studios that make exclusives have made half the amount of games on ps4 than the previous gens and have made their games either glorified movie games or bam ham combat snorefests.
Nathaniel Fisher
>(female) with a dick Fuck off to Tumblr, faggot.
Carter Jenkins
>tumblr I didn't say I want a transexual. I want a girl with a dick, gimmie futa dick
develop some taste, if those are the only games you even see.
Brayden Jackson
because everyone else who isn't poor will have already played every game you're playing, and we'll already be well on our way to playing ps5 games.
The 8th generation was easily the greatest console generation of all time, spearheaded by Sony. I say that as someone who's owned every single console since the original NES. If you didn't own a PS4, you missed it. That's the beginning and end of the story. If you had a Switch you'd get a few great exclusives like Mario, Zelda and Smash, but the 8th generation of console games was 1000% carried by Sony and the constant stream of stellar exclusives they pumped out.

This generation seemed really short too ironically it was just as long as the 7th gen
7th gen 2005 - 2013 8th gen 2012 - 2020
I think the reason this gen sucked is because we got way less games this gen. Unless you count indie games, but to put those on the same playing field as industry releases seems unfair. A lot of the previous generations had their libraries supported by smaller non-AAA titles that would flesh out a console's library enough to keep people engaged. But a lot of those studios got consolidated or went defunct in the 7th gen Indie games kinda filled that niche this gen, but the issue with those is that the indie market is limited to people who are already knee deep into gaming. And the quality of indie games varies widely. AAA titles were basically most of what we got this gen, and because they became more expensive to produce we saw the rise of microtransactions in almost every genre.
tl;dr We lost a shitton of studios last gen, now no one is that willing to take risks, enjoy your microtransactions
