running to the drop pod is fun

>Tomorrow

Attached: 1486943571503.jpg (692x812, 46K)

It's update 24, not May 24. It's also already out.

Game needs shorter missions. Sometimes I think about playing it, but I don't want to spend 45 minutes on 1 fucking mission when I could instead do L4D or like 4 rounds of Rocket League.
Especially if everything goes tits up and you lose all of that progress

oh fuck me I'm dumb
need to play again

Based. So much content.

Play 1/1 missions then.

>but I don't want to spend 45 minutes on 1 fucking mission
Your team has to be really fucking bad for a game to take 45 minutes. If your team is efficient you're looking at something between 15 to 25 minutes on the mission modes that naturally take longer.

Holding my breath for new mission types.

And more new enemies of course. Always more new enemies.

>45 mintues
jesus fucking christ, maybe at most the only time you will ever take that long is on a 3/3 mining expedition and only if you are really unlucky and come across one of those rooms that are too big for their own good.

point extracts can be solo'd in 11 minutes, i did one in 7 with a group of randoms that seemed to catch on really quick.

i'd say one of the bigger problems with this game is being unable to play any mission you want at any time. sometimes i get on and there is nothing i'm interested in playing so i am forced to just shut the game off.

Please go play something else. This is supposed to be an immersive game. What good is a deep dark cave you're out of in 10 minutes?

>when the other dwarves pass up gold/morkite veins
>KeEp MoViNg ItS NoT WoRtH iT
No fuck you. God I hate bad engineers. It’s so fucking easy to be a good one but there’s so many bad ones. Lay out a fucking platform below minerals. That’s all I fucking ask.

Be a driller and make your own staircase. Only scouts depend on foamlets.

Fuck you do it yourself bitch

nigga I'm juggling you and the other retards and the gun
Be patient

>Naedocyte Breeders
Those little floating shits were obnoxious enough. Who thought it'd be fun to add a creature that sits in the far corner of a cave and endlessly shits them out?

Attached: 1543940334084.jpg (400x300, 42K)

engineers are undeniably some of the most cancerous players in this game. they have an inflated sense of self-worth due to being one of the most broken classes in the game with 0 downsides.

the first thing an engineer should do upon entering a new room is immediately platform anything inaccessible from the ground. If I ever catch one of those faggots walk into a room and start mining away something just because it was right in front of their face instead of making sure the room is platted then they're booted.

the only thing you need to juggle is making sure your turret is down and platforms are out. the engineer literally has no other jobs, don't fool yourself.

I'm really hoping for some sort of time trial / obstacle course kind of mission. There's some rare gem/alien artefact/whatever close to the planet's core so they gotta drop you a bit away and you need to get to it before lava rise and the alien wave arrives (could be a bunch of dreadnaughts and bulk detonators).

Also some less complex but much deeper maps with just enough nitra for a resupply or 2 would be cool, you'd be delving real deep and actually have to plan an escape route. Have some holes deep enough that scouts can't just grapple out of them.

A variant on point extraction where the platform's doing the mining and you gotta defend. The platform would shit out enough nitra for a resupply around halfway but if you want any more you need to venture and risk the platform getting damaged.

That’s such a poor replacement for good teamwork. What do they save them for? Why do some refuse to just use the damn platform gun. What fucking dwarf willingly passes up a gold vein because they can’t be assed to swap to a weapon and click.

That’s the sad part I end up just fucking engineering myself because I get fed up with shitty engineers. Anyone with half a brain can scout I just want to go fast but I can’t because I keep getting garbage engineers so it’s a bitch to mine everything.

The first thing you should do in any room unless a wave is coming/are under attack is foam up minerals. If your doing anything else first your doing it wrong.

Good on Ghost Ship for their success with Deep Rock. There's so few games about Dwarves and space Dwarves on top of that. Hopefully in the far future they add in some greenskin pirate enemies trying to raid the rig
Bug enemies are nice but they're so similar to Tyranids and I FUCKING hate Tyranids.

Attached: 1549728460605.png (473x708, 583K)

>t. hazard 3

I usually just play assignment missions, or things with cool mutators, and most of the time they end up being 2/2 or 3/3. Then I host public, but God help me if my Teammates are bad. Once had a dude join and insta leave, which killed my Bosco. So I ended up completely solo on a salvage mission...

>What do they save them for?
I don't know, but I sure don't play like that. I hope you do the brotherly thing and mark them though, it's pretty easy to miss one or two in the darkness.

found the butt hurt scout

Well you're neglecting one of the best parts of his kit.

The more people suggest it, the more I warm up to the suggestion of orcs or some other race. Space gobbos or something might be fun.

>that one level chuck in Glacial Strata that's just a sheer drop

Attached: 1523676861121.jpg (287x250, 12K)

user, I'm saying I don't skimp on the platforms.

Why

Attached: file.png (935x78, 17K)

It's a team game, work together

>anyone with half a brain can scout
i want to believe you, but i can't. one of the major reasons i started playing that class more was because so many seem completely ignorant of what the purpose of the class is. It also doesn't help that the starter weapon is the Assault Rifle which seems to give players the idea that the scout is capable of killing things when it really isn't and should be luring bugs to the team as much as possible.

i actually play the chad Driller class, the second best class for carrying the team besides Scout.

the 11 minute point extract was done as a driller on a hazard 5. as a matter of fact I never play anything less than 4 because once you go that low it spawns so little enemies you may as well not even bother playing the game.

The devs have mentioned before that they dont want to do humanoids due to pathfinding issues. That's why literally everything including mules can walk up walls or fly.

>people straight up ignoring morkite pre quota because it’s high up and they can’t be bothered to platform
>ignoring gold at all
Damn right I’m butthurt. I’m absolutely booty blasted right now. It should never happen.

Minigun a shit. They need to fix it.

minigun is great once you get to last upgrade where killing enemies cools the gun. but don't expect anything that isn't engineer to get a buff.

Minigun is not great. Autocannon shits on it because it hits in fat AoE and has like twice the ammo pool.

Drill there.

Freezygun and minigun teamwork is pretty fuckin brutal. But I’d have to agree, the autocannon is just a straight upgrade in almost every situation.

twice the ammo pool barely matters when you can't score headshots as easily and most of the shots end up missing if they're not standing within 10m of you because of the piss poor accuracy. also that AOE is NOT the reason why the autocannon is good, it's the high RoF at its peak which melts special infected if you're unlucky enough to not be looking at the weak spot.

minigun has great sustained dps and never has to reload. combined with the stun special infected will just sit still as you wreck their weak point

one of my biggest gripes with the autocannon is that it prematurely breaks all the weak points of special infected to the point where you are lowering the potential DPS of any other teammates. This is a pretty big deal with goo bombers and burst detonators and you always end up making the M1000 scout irrelevant because he never has any weak points to shoot at.

Especially for zipline riding playstyle. Autocannoning shit from above is truly the best thing gunner can offer.

Autocannon is for groups of enemies. Singular shit with weak points even a gunner will want to shoot using his revolver.

youtube.com/watch?v=BspXBOEbq_0

Drop pod usually doesn't come to the exact entrance, depending on how far down you go. Say, if you're on an elimination mission, and you end close to the entrance, hitting the button will throw the pod to some random spot 100m or so away.

>autocannon is for groups of enemies
are you even aware of just how tiny the AOE is? You can hit more enemies if you're using strikethrough rounds

seeing the M1000 get used on glyphids is triggering me. where is the trigger warning for this vid

>Deep Rock thread
I really hope this game gets popular

Line gun best gun.

>give all classes more pickaxe upgrades to spec into
>remove driller mining+ pick ability
But why

Not like he really needs it.

>are you even aware of just how tiny the AOE is? You can hit more enemies if you're using strikethrough rounds
It's good. I roll with increased AoE and increased AoE damage upgrades and it shreds groups easy peasy.

This. Increased AoE is a lot of fun.

It was nice to have. It was never about need, just kinda fit his theme.

Honestly, if anyone could figure out dynamic pathing for humanoids, these guys could. Dynamic everything in this game is very, very good.

Attached: yourite.gif (470x200, 2.43M)

Remember when molly would just peace the fuck out and climb up a supply drop shaft? Or phase through walls? Good
Times.

Yeah yeah, there's hiccups. But it's still shockingly stable for most games with this amount of dynamically generated levels.

Post your dwarfs? I'm not at my main comp atm, so I can't post mine just yet.

Why the fuck is the engie electrogun so good. It feels way stronger than any other gun in the game including both gunner primaries.

Really? I honestly have to force myself to use it. The Warthog Shotgun just blaps trash mobs so easily even at Lethal 5 although I mostly play on 4

Attached: bythebeard.jpg (1812x496, 611K)

Because engineer is a broken class that can literally do everything better than the classes that have specialized roles

>crossplay
>can actually play with casul old friends who play on console

Attached: 1551567676070.jpg (960x912, 173K)

Why does this great game has so few players?

Attached: 5647567.jpg (960x942, 97K)

Where my gunner bros at?

Attached: gunner.jpg (3440x1440, 689K)

Give them drills and jetpacks: it's not hard to come up with ways for humanoids to get around

Hell, you could even have goblins digging ramps and shit with a spoon or something, then give the normal shooty orks flat ground pathfinding

Elves would be the ideal race to slaughter in the pursuit of minerals

>goblins with digging claws and climbing gear
>caves infested with drop goblins who hide on the ceilings in hordes
>goblin pitfall traps filled with goblin spikes
I don’t get paid enough for this shit

Space Goblins trying to get in on that morkite rush and having some sort of base camps you'd have to gun your way through would make for some pretty cool missions, honestly kind of a bummer we won't ever see it but we're only talking about making a great game even greater at this point

Nah, pointy eared leaf-lovers wouldn't delve the depths. They're just objects of ridicule.

>Why does this great game has so few players?
No promotion whatsoever.

that's a pretty fair point actually. I just lost myself in my lust for Elf blood

At least there are always mining teams out there, and for almost every mission. That's about all I can ask. Though I do want these devs to be successful and make money off this great idea. Especially if it means future updates.

>Line gun best gun.
I don't like it. I usually run around like mad cunt as engie and I need by grenade launcher to quickly dispatch a glob of enemies nearby. I don't have the luxury of lining up shots.

I would prefer goblins over orks, my grot boys dont get enough love

FOR KAAAARRRRLLL

Attached: Kaaaarl.png (1200x1200, 1.24M)

My friend, I was once like you. I appreciate a big boom as much as the next guy. But then I got a great linegun loadout. I can rapid fire 6 shots of double lines, and it just fillets the enemies right in front of me. Armored? Big bugs? Don't make me laugh.

I-Is the gravity thing-a-majig on the fritz again?

>Grenade Launcher engies
Do you REALLY need more? You already have all this shit that kills efficiently , do you REALLY need to take the extra step to invalidate the rest of your team just so you can feel a little bit better? You are so much better off with the Breach Cutter to save your team from those freak rng moments where you get a praetorian wave.

I've informed GW about your picture. Enjoy your death squad.

Who's Karl?

>the game finaly adds orks, gobbos and elves
But it’s only as cutout targets in the shooting range

>He doesn't know the story

Is that the miner from HBO's Chernobyl?

I'm curious if you could even do space orks in a way that doesn't put GW down your throat.

They say he’s a mad lad who downed two slammers and a skull crushed before heading down planetside. Took on three dreadnaughts before reviving some boys who went down. They say you can still hear his incoherent screaming as he bashes glyphid carapaces with nothing but a pickaxe in the deepest parts of the planet still.

Waiting behind the driller, just like you. Know your place.

ah you see, that's just the thing, GW has Space Orks. Ghost Ship just needs to have Space ORCs.

I get you want to be cool and get a bunch of replies, but can you not act like such a faggot? Don't give people a reason to hate this game. Just don't be so reddit.

As long as they don't speak cockney, you should be fine.

Call them Grarks. Though it'd be kinda hard to not give them that GW Ork personality because it just works so well.

>tfw love dorfs
>internet is shit

Cockney is kinda required for proper orcs though. Unless you want stupid shit like Warcraft where they're dindu nuffin peaceful peoples.

so when is someone going to host

Attached: 1543191118164.jpg (500x390, 71K)

>GW orks are just the best orks
>can never use them anywhere else despite the fact that every game would be better with GW orks
Seriously. There’s not a single game that wouldn’t be improved with their inclusion.

You'd get sued.

all manlet races need to be exterminated

t. Knife ear

What can you do to make them seperate from GW Orks? No Gork and Mork, not fungus, female orcs but then how can they get their numbers so unbelievably high that nothing can kill them off?

Just make them chinese orks

Try it you wimp
Maybe the females are broodmothers/queens that rule over a horde?

Just used the throwing axes that the gunner has for the first time. I really like em. You get a decent amount, and they AoE pretty well, plus they detonate on contact.

>DRG is actually the most caring about its employees welfare out of the post cyberpunk-topia
>rival companies Greater Materials Ltd. and Earth Crackers United have even less care for their employees and intergalactic law
>The two have claim jumped Hoxxes IV, dropping bases into the planet itself rather than remaining in orbit to be spotted by authorities
>GM's Kobolds are making great strides to getting its base of operations functional and expanded to steal minerals but EC has had their base overrun with the goblins fleeing for their lives into the dark
>The kobolds trap without mercy and operate efficiently in kill squads, building all manner of ambushes but they are routed out by the wildlife when unprepared

Thought leaf lovers went extinct after they got raped and pillaged by Humans and refused to leave their homeworld.

*Driller

Humans are mostly upper management of DRG already so having an Earth company seems silly.

I always thought that DRG would eventually start trying to kill you off after start to getting promotions, Hiring space orc mercenaries that drill down to your location.

You say that like the name is about planet Earth and not just earth in general. It also creates a nice little villain in addition to the company and wildlife since they're a planet cracker company wanting to destroy Hoxxes and mine the remains rather than study this magical bullshit

The orcs would get overwhelmed by the bugs down there even if they manage to get the job done.

Did they say anything specific about where the game is going now? It's quite cool so far.

Is the plasma cutter any good? I love the GL too much so I only tried it once without any upgrades.

Read the roadmap.
The new nades just came out so likely they're going to start setting the foundation for the end game.

Plasma cutter is amazing for a particular niche but not as well rounded as the nade launcher. If you're getting swarmed in a narrow area and armored shit is coming through the cutter goes through like butter.

I did, it's just question marks.

>it's scout doesn't light the room up episode
if you are retarded or bad no matter what class you play you will drag your team down

When you say particular niche what you actually mean is that it requires a little more of a brain to make useful than "fire into center of blob"

you can make the cutter just as effective as the launcher if you are even half decent with your movement and crowd control. engineer already does the role of clearing waves well enough that the GL is overkill to the point where you are sabotaging your ability to deal with praetorian waves just because you don't want to have to corral the enemy before you shoot them.

Relatively expensive for a no-name indie game. Even if people want to play it, many won't bother with a game like this unless they also get their friends to play it. I'm trying to get friends to buy it and even on sale for $20 it's a hard sell.

Their loyalty can't be bought for any price. But it can be rented remarkably cheap.

Yeah but its a lot more noticeable on scout and engi. Engi has so many platforms to fucking spare its not even funny and high mobility stuff so cowards can run away is always a shitter magnet. You only notice a gunner is fucking up by how low on ammo you are and it takes a good amount of not just game knowledge but general tactical thought to recognize how a driller is fucking up. But an engi not throwing down one of his thirty platforms is really easy to see as is a scout not immediately flaring any room you can't see the roof or other side.

It's literally impossible to fuck up as driller, unless you C4 your team or sabotage something, I guess.

This is what bugs me. The Jews raised the price recently, even after selling a $17 (cad) dlc that was literally nothing but "further support the devs and get a couple cosmetics." Glad I got it when I did, the game is only worth $20.
If they're running out of money, maybe they shouldn't have put it up for sale before it's finished, because now there's no incentive for them to finish it.

I run digging c4. I like making big holes for people to fall into.

because the bar is so low for the average driller that not fucking up basically just entails not dying. driller should not only be giving the engineer a run for his money in the kills department but also smoothing the terrain in your path during the way down to make any retreat that needs to be done as clean as possible.

a driller playing bad is hardly noticeable because it just seems to be the norm for them to be so painfully average.

i hate you bastards, lol.

Its really easy actually. Beyond C4 shenanigans people don't seem to recognize basic fucking tactical principals that are near required to survive certain hazard 5 bullshit. The same people never terraform a room to be to their advantage and complain salvage ops are too hard. They just leave blind corners everywhere, open up random holes to be flanked on, never shave down a hard drop. Hell, a good amount of drillers I see don't even do fucking stairs. Everybody should be near out of their resource ammo by the end of a hard mission but all the time I see drillers do absolutely nothing with it or, worse yet, actually harm the team by giving the bugs better ground to fight on.

did they add females yet? i wanna play as a gril

I do as well. Sometimes just making a big hole in a wall is super useful for making it that last stretch or giving room to run around a weird pod angle.
But yeah, if your team doesn't have at least a 10m uninterrupted sightline for any kind of standing fight then your driller isn't doing it right. The moment you hear a wave is coming the gunner picks out the spot, the scout lights the room up, the engi plops turrets down to cover flanks, and the driller creates sightlines and funnels for minimum loss of firepower. At the end of the day, the driller has the second most firepower on the team against any kind of numbers and it should be he and gunner racking up kills. Engis get it now just because most drillers are shit.

Only if they add beards to them.

people really just don't realize just how clever you can be with the drills and just how big of a difference they make. luring enemies through tunnels is insanely efficient and the quickest way to clear large mobs.

there are 2 different "bunkers" that you can build that can make you immortal, the second in particular is much more ammo efficient than the first. although i admittedly do not like the bunker tactics since detonators have been added.

that doesn't even begin to add onto just how big of a savior that the flamethrower can be on hazard 4 and especially moreso on 5 because of how big the groups begin to get and how crazy the chain damage from explode on death becomes. the driller quite literally is the backbone of the team when anything that isn't a special spawn is overrunning.

i wish, even with close to 200 hours playing driller I find even mediocre engineers with little time still beating me out in the kills department. it's that fuckin turret that murders everything combined with every weapon they have being above average.

tfw A BULK DETONATOR blocks your path to the drop pod.

>2 different "bunkers"
Do tell. I think I saw one the other day where someone drilled in about 10m and gave 4 different nooks for each player but i'm always looking to up my vietcong tunnels to something more legitimate.

>A BULK DETONATOR
Man when these fucks make minibosses they don't fuck around. Bulk detonators and bet-c just fucking rock a team. I also love how much the game makes you appreciate scale. All that time spent in cramped tunnels and in dark rooms makes you really appreciate how fucking big a detonator explosion is and how fucking awful a huge cavern/massive drop is.

>space goblins dig tunnels and traps like the Viet Cong

Attached: GP24258579.jpg (615x346, 29K)

Even better is when the Driller decides to tunnel his way to the drop pod while low on nitra and he runs out of fuel for the drills but we're in too committed to the tunnel to run all the way back and the bugs are zerg rushing our tunnel while the timer is ticking.

Attached: BUGS.gif (480x257, 2.46M)

the first would basically be a variation of what you just said. a straight line back but with little holes dug into the walls so you can hide just in case some ranged enemies poke their head in and fire at you.

the second more efficient one is only good for one player to shoot out of, which will be the driller. it involves digging up and then a very tiny bit to the side so you are not standing in the center of this corridor and instead to the side.

this works well because since you have dug upwards and are not standing directly in the center of the corridor, they aren't going to spread out across the corridor as much when they try and come in and will instead all try and funnel straight up towards you.

you can also make the first bunker much more efficient by abusing the AI like the second one by digging away the roof of the corridor right where they enter. they will try to choose the shortest path and bunch up along the floor in a straight line right to you.

you should always save at least one resupply pod to be called down if you have a driller and plan on drilling out, it really grinds my gears when some nigger calls down all the supply pods at the end when nobody even needs any more ammo. it's always smart to play safe.

Teach me your ways, driller sensei

Molemen when

also on those salvage missions you should drill a corridor into any nearby tunnel as long as it will be at least 15 meters long. it's much better to have any of those possible waves come through those tunnels for you to easily deal with than them spread over the edge of whatever cliff the point has spawned upon.

i also need to go in game to take a screenshot of something that will help keep the enemies from spreading out but it will take me like 15 minutes. very useful and permanent addition you can make to a cave system that will keep them from crawling onto the walls and spreading out like their AI usually forces them to do. this really helps cement the idea into your head that you should always retreat and push forward if you haven't already had that mentality beaten into your head by falling into dwarf sized holes that lead to near-bottomless pits or that bastard cave leech that is just way too close to the ground.

EPC is great for clearing environmental hazards like those gay fart mushrooms in the toxic biome

Freezing gun on Driller is a waste of time. It feels like flamethrower is much better now.

>played this game exclusively with my friend
>we're not very good but we have a lot of fun dicking around in hazard 2/3

Don't wander off on your own. Use platforms, flares and zip lines as soon as possible. Most importantly yell BY THE BEARD!

Don't satchel charge someone right before they run into the drop pod. They'll get really mad and type in all caps.

before

don't spam pings.
when you join someones game that is in progress you should focus on following them until you get acclimated to the layout of the cave and know what is down and what is up. avoid dropping in and immediately running off because there is high incentive to kick you because bosco is really useful for mining minerals off walls.

mostly just remember that you have teammates and try to fight with them.
