It also added the Logos System (unique limited-use spells) and the Baldesion Arsenal (a huge 56-man dungeon that has permadeath and lots of unique mechanics). Naturally, no part of Eureka was about rote pattern memorization, so they've bitched about it nonstop for the past two years and tried to convince people to not do it.

There's very few times I've ever been too far away from a boss during mechanics that I'd need a charge - either you're focusing on those times and forgetting all the others where it's pretty easy to stay nearby (as the Tank, anyways) while still dodging shit. I think you're underestimating how useful it would be. Look at Omega M and F as an example.

DRK's job-quests have the best story of any job. You did miss out a bit on not being a Dragoon through Heavensward but it's primarily some throwaway lines that you're an Azure Dragoon alongside Estinien, practically speaking. Thematically speaking I am so sorry user the entire expac revolves around dragons, dragoons, and their struggle, and you MISSED OUT

The lore is the most appealing part of leveling DRK. It has the best class quests in the game. I don't even like playing DRK that much and Dark Arts put me off of finishing them for a long time, but having finally done them all just recently, I think that the quests alone are reason enough to level it. Hardcore raiding in this game is a fucking meme and overall it's nowhere near as raid oriented as WoW. Don't get into this game if all you care about is raiding because there is very little raid content and what there is is extremely samey. The actual fights are more complex and interesting than WoW's, but they're not meant to be the only content you play and you get beat over the head with that fact constantly.

Going on a good old classic style lighthearted adventure with Arenvald and Alphinaud was pretty good. Raubahn and Nanamo's rooftop scene was also very good. 4.1 in general was probably the strongest part of Stormblood imo.
The final Zenos fight and G'raha interrupting us was total dogshit, but waking up back in Ishgard in the company of your real friends was also pretty nice as a final note.

Every time you use an action that targets the enemy (including Addle, but not Shadowflare because that's ground targeted), Bahamut uses his Wyrmwave auto attack. You also have an Enkindle action to make him use Akh Morn that you can use twice during his duration. You basically use Ruin II to weave in OGCDs to try and maximize the amount of Wyrmwaves you can trigger.

No more stances for tanks. DRK gets an ability to make a Fray clone. WAR gets more strong abilities. MCH is actually good and is SAM/BLM-tier for selfish DPS.

Eh, ff14's game design pits healers, tanks and dps against each other; since 'everyone is dps', and there's no actual sense or reason to play a tank as a tank or a healer as a healer, and enrage timers are so tight (go look at rates of who actually clears the savage content).

in middling groups that end up clearing savage pre-nerf, healers and tanks are organically at each other's throats because as healers heal less and can do more damage, and as tanks tank less and can do more damage, the other has to pick up the slack. healers can compensate for lazier and 'higher dps' tanking, and tanks can compensate for lazier and more stone-happy WHM's etc.

It doesnt always have to be this way but the raid boss design tends to naturally align people into hostility, since everyone is just DPS with heals or DPS with cd's. Since all anyone gives a fuck about is FFLogs at any time, regardless of everything else.

Damage is insanely scripted, clemency is never necessary, healers and tanks and even DPS sometimes can anticipate and mitigate prior to damage landing and then tanks just get healed up rq by healers without even needing a GCD. You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. There is zero tension between tanks and heals in ffxiv raiding.

There's a mindset for prog and there's a mindset for speed clear. I do agree the community has way too much speed clear mindset when they can't even manage the fight in the first place though.
