Emerged the Black Diablos from a burrowed crevice in the ground as it flew several meters away from me. I quickly scrambled behind a rock so I would go unnoticed. I prepared my flare as the Diablos approached the cacti patch to commence our attack. Yet, the dessert heat had certainly made me weary and confused. Gazing from behind the Diablos, juices flowed from what could be perceived as its vaginal tract. I equipped my guille mantle and approached her with great caution. With my mouth watering with anticipated, I positioned my self under the especially horny Diablos where her juices flowed. Catching a few drips, I was overcomed with and even greater thrist. There isn't enough relation between the two franchises, MH is a hard game but in a different way than DS.
DS is hard because the world is full of bullshit newbie traps than once learned are not getting you again, the bosses kill you fast but die just as fast.
MH on the other hand is 100% about boss fights, small enemies are just a small annoyance, the place where you fight is just an arena, the bosses can kill you fast but they will take a lot of damage before going down, around 10~15 minutes per quest/boss, so is a skill endurance test where a single mistake might cost you a cart on higher levels.

Glavenus does have a really intriguing, coherent design. Normally the premise of, "He's got a giant blade as his tail and uses it to attack!" would sound fucking stupid as hell, but I'll be damned if they didn't make it work. And cutting it off is so damn satisfying.

Ceadeus Regalia was cool, but the CB moveset back then was just perfect as-is, just tone down KO damage on impact phials to keep blunt weapon users happy. It got nerfed a bit harshly in Gen (although GP visualization is a nice touch), it didn't make that much of a comeback in GU, and MHW just made CB strong again but not in a particularly rewarding way. The shield boost retention after doing a SAED just makes them more spammable than situational, and regular guarding being a launchpad for them kind of makes guardpoints a lot less useful. Yet the damage on the rest of the axe moveset is underwhelming, so SAED spam ends up being the gameplan either way than just regular AED sniping. That slide attack on sword mode kind of fucks with muscle memory when trying to turn the character. Sword boost is an okay idea I guess but kind of paints the picture of it being the dominant form.
Now that MHW is pretty much mainstream and also seeing what happened with some other weapons, I don't hold a lot of confidence in seeing the CB I liked come back. Truth be told I never really found a weapon I really enjoy using in MHW without seeing a dumb change, outside of HH/Lance/GL/SA.

I've never read a post on Yea Forums that I agree with as much as this one. Well done. I feel exactly the same about CB. World would have been perfect if it hadn't retained the shield buff (i.e., the 4U version), and I don't know who the fuck thought that was a good idea. Also it just doesn't sound right in World. In GU it's got the satisfying steam when you charge an AED, and in 4U it sounds like a tank. In World, it's so limp.

Other than that, I suppose we'd have to wait until Iceborne for further changes or even see if Frontier is allowed to try its hand at CB in the future, if it ever does like what it did to Swaxe. HC mode (which is like an on/off switch that supposedly used to have a lot more bullshit behind it) Velocidromes can spit a randomized projectile with one of the effects being a Farcaster. Here's a WebM from the previous Frontier bogeyman of old. Other than that you got shit like Gendromes being able to spit a giant ball that can actually paralyze themselves, but mostly the -dromes at this point will more likely try to backhop projectile > charge at you.
