Xenoblade X is coming to Switch. Some Small changes, but mostly the same:
>Elite Squad Missions- Post game online multiplayer. Works the same as default multiplayer, but with significantly harder quests. You get to choose between story squad, conquest squad, and Elite squad when starting your game. >Reward Ticket rewards have been altered- more tickets for the same rewards, and certain high tier rewards have been removed. >15 new super bosses, three for each continent. The weakest of these is several times tougher than the strongest super bosses >3 new World Nemesis fights >Ares 90 now requires drops from all 15 super bosses and all of the world nemesis battles. You can not get these parts from reward tickets >Half of all tyrants over level 50 now have faster auto attacks or new multi attack moves to counter Ghost Walker. >story and affinity missions now have level sync. >Mission Replay lets you replay all story and affinity missions- There are also level 60 and level 90 versions of all affinity and story missions here. >Proper co-op added for 4 player parties. Cannot do affinity or story missions while co-oping. Normal and Basic Missions are ok though. >G-buster, Drone, and Phoenix are no longer available for level 30 skells. There are 10 new skell weapons unique to each AM, many with very interesting arts that are sure to help players come up with spicy builds. >Event Quests added. Each week, there will be ten event quests. There are 52 sets of 10 event quests, for a full year's worth of quests, that will repeat every year. They have unique rewards. They are tough, challenging quests, with a multiplayer focus, but can be done solo too. >Game launches early December, Event Quests start on New Years Day. >There are also very hard, extended 4 man raids, one per month, total of 12. Like Event Quests, the idea is to have a full year worth that repeat every year.
>first 1/3rd of game >get to slowly explore and enjoy the land >get doll >explore 90% of the map in half an hour >dropped game due to boredom I mean, it might not have made me drop the game but the game already had horrible story and music that made my ears bleed. Also, I wish they didn't include any "multiplayer" aspects in the game. All it did was make me want real co-op.
Parker Bennett
Will they add a proper end to the story tho
William Kelly
>130 minimum to enjoy X >have over a 130 IQ >didn't enjoy X Um user your list seems to be wrong.
Joshua Bell
>add more grind for the same old shit Come on op, step your game up. They would at least make the new parts assemble a new mech. Adding more bosses just to inflate the grind is a horrible idea.
Xenogears in my opinion should be 130 and X at 115. Xenogears is an unfinished game with no voice acting and very little gameplay in the ladder part of the game. That is too much for brainlets to handle. X on the other hand has lots of gameplay so its requirements are a bit lower.
its been awhile but what was so bad about 2? I mean the combat system required more thought than 1 but the story was kind of meh and didn't really seem all that deep but like I said its been awhile.
Benjamin Wright
I fucking wish
Colton Davis
come to the PS4/PC and i will give a shit
Eli Russell
X port when Blade 3 when X 2 when Malosblade when Blade 1 remake when

PS4? and give Snoy something else to fucking censor?
So what exactly do you do in the world? Everytime i see footage its always someone wandering around aimlessly like in botw.
Kevin Gray
can’t experience the multiplayer/world boss etc on an emulator
Levi James
Proper enjoyment of Xenogears literally requires native level Japanese knowledge, even moreso than other Takahashi games (including Xenoblade 2, which literally relies on academic knowledge of decades of otaku culture to properly appreciate). As proven countless times by DJT, only those with an IQ higher than 120 can actually learn Japanese, so bump up the number in that game up by 10.
has a shit ton of quests and what not. That is mostly what you will be doing. You will also collect stuff and explore stuff but that is typically while you are questing. Just like always some quests are more interesting than others.
Is there an option to fix the create-a-character western style shit and the awful Sawano OST? I would have passed on the game forever, but XB2 was so disappointing, I actually want to play XBX to wash the taste out of my mouth.
>Xenoblade II: 100 more like 70, waifu bait doesn't require IQ at all *post Japanese """"humor""""" .webm*
Grayson Robinson
>Get Elma in XB2 >tfw wir fliegen starts playing when activating overdrive Monolith went above and beyond with the XB2 updates and DLC. Now only if square weren't cunts and let him add Fei
NLA Night is unironically one of my favorite tracks from the game.
Bentley Jones
Yeah, it would be better. Sawano is a fucking hack.
Evan Thompson
His mecha suit, without a mecha. I really wanted the final battle to be in a mecha, instead we got a stationary mecha trying to smash some ants. His new suit makes no sense without one.
Torna had a decent mecha battle in the end, but it was kind of in the background.
>If you don't like something it's because you don't understand it Stupidest fucking thing anyone could ever say.
Dominic Cruz
You need an IQ of 110 to appreciate the OST and you need an IQ of 130 to appreciate the game; therefore, if you don't like the OST, you're not going to like the game.
Nolan Perez
Literally an ad for a Nintendo catalog that comes with XB2 and one other game and costs less than 10k yen.
Sebastian Wilson
but what about the boob slider, I need to know about the boob slider!

His Master Blade suit. When he becomes a fucking man and fucks shit up.

Is it even possible to make X better?
Parker Ortiz
LOL yes.
Don't take me wrong, it's a good game, but it had it's faults that can be fixed, like lol tatsu food! xD! comedy

change the super slide-y no traction on the lailah, for one.

I am sorry my friend, but your IQ was not high enough to enjoy Xenoblade 2.

Maybe something to help make it more clear where and when certain collectibles can be obtained for the sake of the shittier normal/basic missions.

That quest took me probably 2 hours or time resetting, it was horrid. I didnt even have one of those normally before I got that quest, some of the unique collectibles were just fucking nonsense.
Gavin Thompson
They didn't even fix the collectible issue in Xenoblade 2. I doubt they'll change anything now. There's always:
God damn do I love that site. Was incredibly helpful my first time playing X.
Isaiah Walker
OH look more Nintenkid fanfiction.
Jaxon Foster
The worst part about XCX's music is that Nintendo literally owns none of it. Sony does. So any time they want to reuse music from XCX they need to fork over money to Sony, which they'll never do. Elma's inclusion in XC2 with Uncontrollable was probably the one exception.
Justin Walker
Please be true. I'd give my left nut for this if it wasn't for emulation. But for real if it happens I'm buying at full price. Kept waiting for games that interested me other than XCX to come out on the wii U and they just never did.
Asher Mitchell
More like
Xenoblade 2: either < 80 or > 100
Caleb Barnes
SHOW US THE LIGHT, FOR NOW SHOW US A SIGN FOR WHERE WE CAN GO INTO THE CAVE WITH NO GUIDING LIGHT DO YOU KNOW WHERE IS THE GOAL
Depends on what stage of the game you are at. Early games you are stealthing around the map as most things will kill you without blinking. Even when you get your first robot its almost a right of passage to start wandering around only for it to get immediately destroyed. You realize you were given a crap load of money through out the game and hopefully you didn't waste it as fuel and mech repairs are expensive as fuck.
Finally being able to explore the map without fear of getting one shot and maybe being able to escape from a roaming superboss you accidentally pissed off gives off one of the greatest senses of accomplishment ever.
Oliver Harris
I hoping that at least the jp version of the game has english options so I can play the uncensored version
Joshua Brown
you battle random enemies with UI rivaling the worst of MMOs

Is Chronicles X the one where you customize the MC?

Soundtrack is actually very good, problem is implementation of soundtrack.
Truly the master of cucks.
Landon Perez
Is it worth waiting and hoping for a switch port of X? Or should I just buy it on the Wii U?
Aaron Cox
Pretty much.
Dominic Wilson
Not really, Robin takes part in the story in Awakening. XCX Avatar is silent, but you make choices that affect the outcomes of quests still.
Joseph Evans
why not just wait for e3, you are asking a question that literally nobody here can answer definitively
Jason Howard
I'll only play this game if the translation is redone and the censorship is removed.

I'd rather have a Xenosaga trilogy remaster, but I never played X so I'd be up for that.

then you will never play it also why don't faggots like you just learn japanese? too dumb?

>Ares 90 now requires drops from all 15 super bosses and all of the world nemesis battles. You can not get these parts from reward tickets Not that I ever believed you, OP, but at least try to make your fake leaks subtle. The reason Ares 90 is easy to craft is because it's a crutch for bad players. Making it require basically 100%ing the game would make it absolutely fucking worthless because by that time 1. You'd have already more powerful custom Skells that outclass it in every way 2. You'd have nothing left to use it against 3. Bad players that need it as a crutch would have already long dropped the game and probably never touched any post-game boss.

Considering that the majority of posters on this site completely misunderstand, or outright miss, the philosophical themes present in those two games, I'd have to disagree. Takahashi has demonstrated a pretty solid grasp on the topics he uses for his games - XG being possibly the weakest, though that might be my bias against the philosophers used. Failing to appreciate and take notice of the sometimes subtle, sometimes in your face philosophies which shape the story/world/characters really cheapens the experience overall.
Aaron King
His list is 'minimum IQ required to enjoy', not required to understand or fully appreciate, so I think that's fine. If anything, I'd lower a lot of those numbers.
Austin Wright
Orpheans were cute as fuck
Daniel White
I guess it depends on user’s definition of enjoy. A dimwit can enjoy burning ants with a magnifying glass for hours because that’s all it takes to stimulate them. Kinda feels like a pointless metric in that scenario, though I guess I do see your point. I probably put too much thought into my reply anyway considering that was almost certainly a thinly veiled shitpost, but bar peeps got me all verbose ‘n shit
Ryan Walker
>Considering that the majority of posters on this site completely misunderstand, or outright miss, the philosophical themes present in those two games, I'd have to disagree. To be fair, there's a ton of retards posting all time that are completely unable to understand anything that isnt blatantly force fed to them
You’ve got to give me more than that user or all I can give you is a return shitpost. Hint: it helps to at least provide some explanation when you’re attempting to make a point
Feel free to look up any of the interviews with Takahashi. You're talking about appreciating subtle philosophy in XB2 when he's said that he just wanted to write a feel good shonen adventure for aimless Japanese youths. He explicitly talks about all of the themes in the game, and your idea that people misunderstand the philosophy there is laughable given how shallow and straightforward it all is. I know you want to pretend to be smart, but you're completely wrong about the game.
I'm sure you'll ignore everything he's said and try damage controlling by insisting that he was lying about everything he explicitly said, and the game isn't simple shlock for children, or that he secretly did fill it with more complicated ideas but everyone missed them.
Evan Nelson
i'm too lazy to argue with them but this is true
Carson Hernandez
I wonder how different the story would've been if we got our set protag rather than Rook
Never got to finish this game because I broke my gamepad screen and you can't get past the title screen without using the touch screen.

NOT TO SOUND CLICHE
BUT THIS WORLD SUCKS
Joshua Jones
Pretending to be smart on an anonymous image board is pretty quixotic. And you’re misrepresenting the interview in question. The focus on the story is absolutely “boy meets girl” like he stated, but the underlying themes are absolutely philosophical. The man has shown himself incapable of separating his clear love of the study of philosophy from his writing. For XB2, I believe there’s absolutely a strong argument to be made that the story structure closely adheres to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, with the three acts mirroring the stages of awareness within the cave. This argument is only strengthened by the other clear references to Plato’s works throughout the game (some examples include the Architect as the demiurge, the trinity processor, and the trinity of Malos/Mythra/Pyra mirroring the tripartite theory of the soul, and the heavy HEAVY focus in the Atlantean myth, to name a few). Additionally, Takahashi has repeatedly examined various themes present in different religions and often uses them to shape the stories he writes, the most prominent and frequently employed being the widespread presence of a “precursor” style civilization which seeds the later iterations of humanity. He seemingly likes to spin this out by having a late-stage Earthnoid civilization filling the precursor role (Klaus, the expedition in XG, and i believe he intends to do something similar with what he has set up in XBX). These themes are absolutely present, though I concede that one or two might be me projecting. However, given the sheer volume of apparent philosophical themes/influences, it would be foolhardy to suggest that I’m reading too much into the majority of them. The dudes clearly a very intellectual guy with a strong vision and it shows in his work.
Additionally, I only responded initially because that user was clearly attempting to denigrate the fans of other Takahashi games
James Smith
It would have had an actual story instead of >looking at Elma do plot stuff
Adam Sanders
>Story is still shit/nonexistant >World is still filled with level 50 stuff when you're only level 6 >None of the problems are getting addressed/worked on like partners falling behind >Just adds a bunch of shit literally nobody cared about

X should just have characters level up with you, ALL of them.
Oliver Evans
>World is still filled with level 50 stuff when you're only level 6 How is this bad? Enemies scaling to your level is lame as fuck and takes away to satisfaction of leveling up.
Blake Anderson
That type of mentality demonstrates a clear misunderstanding of the Xeno series as a whole. Each entry attempts to tell a story that examines various philosophies, myths, and religions in a way that both sheds new light on their core messages while also creating something unique and often innovative. The amount of backlash I’ve seen people receive for merely suggesting that each entry has merit is a testament to my original point: the vast majority of posters seem to miss, or willfully ignore, the philosophical and artistic merit of each Xeno game in favor of tribalistic console-war brand shitposting.
Furthermore, my second point was that “enjoyment” without further substantiation is a worthless metric. Enjoyment can occur irrespective of ones intelligence, as made clear in my example. To appreciate a work in its entirety is an entirely different beast, and can absolutely hinge on the viewer’s intelligence as well as other aspects of their personality (attentiveness, receptiveness to foreign ideas, willingness to look beyond the obvious).
Matthew Moore
Your logic is a bit off there. It's true that Takahashi said he wanted to give Xenoblade 2 an optimistic story similar to the ones he grew up with, to contrast with the harsh worlds he feels like are so overabundant in games nowadays, but that in no way precludes the game from having depth.
Henry Parker
Exactly this. A story can both focus on the intimate relationship between a boy and a girl while also using the setting/characters/story to explore additional ideas and concepts. The former in no way precludes the latter, and Takahashi has never unequivocally stated that XB2 did not explore philosophical subjects.
Robert Gonzalez
If X got a switch port do you think they would uncensored everything from the WiiU version?

>For XB2, I believe there’s absolutely a strong argument to be made that the story structure closely adheres to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, with the three acts mirroring the stages of awareness within the cave. Honest to God, if this wasn't Yea Forumseddit I would instantly assume this entire post was made in jest. I can't even imagine being this self assured in your own ignorance when you directly contradict what the writer said so that you can project your undergrad level of "understanding" if philosophy onto a story when the parallels you're pretending are there simply don't exist.
He's explicitly stated all of the ideas and themes he was going for. He's literally explained the real world parallels and how Americans and Japanese people might interpret their presentations, and talked about how he wants Japanese youths to interpret it. Insisting that the extremely basic and childish ideas he puts forth and expounds upon himself don't actually represent the driving ideas and themes in the game is a level of arrogance that shouldn't exist.
Bentley Stewart
Lol what a bad faith argument. Immediately adopting a condescending tone and attempting to attack my credibility rather than my arguments only weakens your position. Enjoy the rest of your evening, user. I’m sure you’ll chalk this one up as a victory.

NLA NIGHT THEME IS ARYAN SHIT IF YOU DON'T THINK SO YOU CAN EAT A FAT BOWL OF SHIT YOU DEVIANT TRANNY
What argument, you pseudo-intellectual moron? He's talked about all the themes and ideas at length in very explicit terms. Your entire "argument" tries to draw parallels between basic plot structure used across fiction and then banks on the idea that "he didn't explicitly say these WEREN'T the themes." How stupid do you have to be to think that gives you anything even resembling a point?
4gamer.net/games/368/G036837/20171130058/ For his inspirations and which stories he parallels, and what other stories it's similar to (hint: none are what the other idiot said). He also talks about what kind of story he was trying to tell. He literally calls the story juvenile. Those are the exact words the man said. Trying to ascribe some deeper philosophical vector to the story is ridiculous and completely unfounded.

If the combat system is ass like Xenoblade chronicles 2 then I'm not interested. Fuck that low effort game, whoever thinks gacha and auto-attack in a single player game are good things should hang. Also it was ugly as fuck, only the main cast had any kind of effort put into it. What a waste of a good OST.

Huh, why is Elma in Chronicles 2? I only played Xenoblade X on my Wii U, don't own a Switch and Xenoblade 2 yet
Isaac Hall
Yeah, that's the main interview I was thinking of. Like I said before - Takahashi briefly going over the premise, basic themes and inspirations of the game in a pre-release interview is not 'stating all of the ideas and themes he was going for', and it's silly to claim that finding anything more in the story beyond those simple concepts is completely ridiculous and use it to shut down every person who interprets things in a way you disagree with. Considering Takahashi claims that he likes seeing the way people perceive the messages he puts in his games and doesn't want to go out of his way to tell people 'this is how you should see this', I don't really think the intention for that interview was to delicately lay out all the exact meaning of the game's story and squash all speculation otherwise. And one of the major themes of the game is the idea of 'passing things on to the next generation' and youthful optimism not being a such a foolish thing to believe in, of course 'juvenile' is one of the keywords for the story. Again - that doesn't preclude the story from having depth.
Easton Moore
DLC, she's a blade in it, same with Shulk, Fiora and KOS-MOS.
>When it comes to roadblocks that stand in the way of Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch, Takahashi's answer is simple.
>"Money," he laughs. "It's a massive game. Re-creating it would be really difficult."
Andrew Ross
Just an homage. With the DLC, you're given the ability to go to this special area where you can participate in specific/special fights and challenges. Complete them for rewards and points to buy stuff, I think. You also meet Shulk and Fiora here, as well as Elma. There is also KOS-MOS and T-ELOS, but those two are in the base game (T-ELOS is not DLC and is free, just have to update the game to patch her in), no purchase required. Good fucking luck getting KOS-MOS though, her drop rate is statistically abysmal.
>I know Japanese and I probably won't ever play it because fuck Sawano and fuck going for the wrpg audience with custom silent characters. Why are people still spreading this false narrative? A silent protagonist is literally the opposite of wrpg protagonists, who have the ability to talk. Do you also think Persona is pandering to thee wrpg crowd?
And yes, you get dialogue options in XBX, but they happen once in a blue moon and they are extremely short and simplistic responses.
He says in no unambiguous terms that it's a juvenile boy meets girl themed story, talks about his inspirations, likens it to several other series and talks about which is his personal biases and habits bleed into his writing. You've based your pseudo-intellectual analysis on absolutely nothing, and insisted that it's valid because he didn't say what the themes were not. You're an idiot.

>Why are people still spreading this false narrative? Because they said they wanted the Skyrim audience, that the game was open world driven instead of story driven, and you ignoring dialogue choices won't make them not exist?

The point is that XBX's protagonist is still nothing like a wrpg protagonist, unless you also think Persona is a wrpg.
Ryder Price
>Sure they said they were going for Skyrim >But let me tell you how it's actually Persona because it's the only example of a quiet protagonist with a few dialogue options in a Japanese game I could think of, even though it's the opposite type of game they were trying to make with XBX

>But let me tell you how it's actually Persona because it's the only example of a quiet protagonist with a few dialogue options in a Japanese game I could think of
>what is SMT >what is Suikoden >what is Langrisser >what is Growlanser
Th whole 'silent protagonists, but you get a few responses' thing is extrmeely common in jrpgs. Again, XBX's protagonist is nothing like a wrpg.
>. Again, XBX's protagonist is nothing like a wrpg The whole game is, as they've repeatedly said. Silent protagonists with selectable lines are more common in wrpgs.
Is XBX better than the chronicles games? I keep trying to get into XBC1/2 but I hate how little you can control in combat, turns every single fight into a sheer gear/numbers check once you figure out the main tactics to use in the first few hours.
Have they ever announced Wii U ports to Switch at E3? I can't remember, I feel like they're normally saved for regular directs or just come out of nowhere.

If I learned electrical engineering I could be earning up to 200k a year, there's a massive drought of brains here in the country because everyone that's smart enough to learn a foreign language, programming included, is leaving the country. Who knew earning a fuckload of cash doesn't compensate the constant risk of being shot, or the 60% import tax.
I was actually considering buying a third party controller but it's so goddamn hard to find legitimate reviews, specially because they never mention the lifetime of the product. Curiously some of those controllers actually have better dpads than the pro.
I have a PowerA Switch controller. Do not recommend. No rumble, runs on AA batteries-- burns them like they're candy, and they break down way too easily. Mine literally died like a month into its lifetime.
Connor Lee
The OST is great. You are weak.
Nathan Rodriguez
I've never ever used a good third party controller, I use Xbox ones for PC because third party controllers have never been worth owning, I've owned at least 10, I don't know if this has changed, but I don't expect that things ever will, unless a review reviewed the controller for a few years it's not trustworthy since third party controllers tend to have lifetimes of months, not years
I'm going to emphasize the word SOME in electrical engineering, you're basically going to be trying to figure out what component broke by running some diagnostics, that could be as easy as looking at it, or using a multi meter to run a current through it and testing whether that current is passing through correctly, you will probably have to ask someone with some actual knowledge since at best I've replaced entire boards, faulty ribbon cables, faulty power cords or bulging capacitors.
That said I'm surprised a little bit of rain destroyed a Switch pro controller considering that it's fully sealed, and seems quite simple as far as a circuit goes.
Well, if I were to get a powerA controller, it would be a wired one. Also, it wasn't it was the one from EALNK Friend, I was talking about an entry job for soldering computer parts. Yes it's that bad. I once had to go to a tech store to run a diagnostic on a motherboard because one of my PCs literally exploded after a power outage, when the energy came back. The guy there, when he saw I knew a bit about computers asked me if I could solder anything, in which case he would hire me on the spot. Hell he said that he could hire me if I knew how to install cracked photoshop copies.
Currently I'm learning C++ and digital drawing, so I don't have the time to learn anything else.
Christopher Anderson
WE'RE STUCK ON A DIFFERENT PLANET
Daniel Lewis
what the fuck I took the same screenshot yesterday
>PowerA Pls no, such a shit company deserves no business. I have a Hori fightstick and it's lasted a lot of abuse. Their Switch gamepads cost about the same as a PowerA so they'd probably be just as sturdy.
Ian Bell
I didn't know there was a 21:9 hack for it. Noice. First play through or coming back to visit the game?
What user said >you need 130 IQ to enjoy x What you thought it meant >everyone above 130 IQ enjoys x What it actually meant >nobody below 130 IQ enjoys x Your estimated IQ >85
Ian Morris
Do you know how to multiply? Then you can get a job teaching that to 16~18 yo girls because several schools allow you to use calculators up to the point when you have to do the equivalent of a graduation before university. I wasn't even considering that, I was considering getting one from EALNK which is a company that I've never heard about.
Carter Sanders
Man, im not sure if you are just fucking with us or not. I know br is not first world but it can't be that bad. anyway about the controller, if you have some controller from last gen, you can just get an adapter and use it for the switch
Aaron Edwards
>all these triggered replies Probably the same guy. But I agree, the OST is mostly shit. Goes for everything Sawano does, he is only good at creating "hype" tracks for anime. Hopefully X2 has a good composer.
Josiah Powell
>wrpg >you can choose what to say False. You can choose out of a predetermined list which is no different from not having any choice at all. Unless you think choosing between pepsi and cola is really a choice, in which case you're the idiot these games are aimed at. At least in jap games there no illusion that you're on a ride. Blue ending, red ending, green ending. Such masterpieces WRPGs are.
Lucas Collins
Pretty sure captain toad was in E3
Brayden Nelson
>Man, im not sure if you are just fucking with us or not I'm not, not in the slightest, the good part of living in a country where everyone is fucking retarded is that anything that requires an ounce of intelligence, analytical skills or critical thinking has a massive demand. The bad part is that the government takes about 60~70% of your salary through taxes to support a massive population that's too retarded to wipe their own ass. >anyway about the controller, if you have some controller from last gen, you can just get an adapter and use it for the switch Just my luck, my last working ps3 controller was right with the switch pro controller and fried with it.
Owen Parker
my first run actually, I'm 71hrs in and having tons of fun
fuck man, i love them all but the first time i got to sylvalum was something else
Juan Perry
I'm emulating this and what in the goddamn fuck is with the close-range or indoor camera Walk in a building and you camera is in snail pace what the fuck.
Ryan Anderson
Primordia is best as I love roaming plains and grasslands. Sylvalum has the best soundtrack though. The only one I´m not too much of a fan is Cauldros
It's honestly one of the best video game soundtracks I've ever heard. I don't really care about awards or anything but the fact that it wasn't even nominated for best soundtrack at the VGAs baffles me.
Asher Young
>he doesn’t know
Cameron Davis
>expecting crime in NLA I mean, some shit goes down, but with everyone working together to survive on a new planet, I don’t expect a lot of people would go out of their way to get thrown in jail.
I fucking wish, but doesn't mean you aren't a lying faggot
Liam Butler
Next time post an image that doesn't prove the person you're replying to right you fucking brainlet.
Wyatt Jackson
>objectively better graphics He said it looked better, which is true, not that it had higher resolution textures or anything you could claim as objective. Boy you XC2 fans are pretty dim.
Ethan Cooper
I'm not the one trying to convince people the game looks better, that's your job.
I've been emulating it for weeks, at 60fps and with uncensorship patches installed, and then I used cheatengine to adjust the inaccessable boob slider to my liking, I couldn't be arsed going through the un-dubbing procedure but it can be done. somewhat, it's kinda quirky and doesn't wanna run on more than a single core so if your cpu is ass don't expect great things.
XS2 requires the highest IQ of the Xenosaga games, even if it is the worst. People primarily hate it for the battle system, which is actually really good and unique if you're not a brainlet and learn the mechanics. t. just finished playing the entire series for the first time yesterday
Julian Martin
I got a loadiine copy, dunno if that makes this harder or easier, I don't think unpacking it is necessary with this version?
Aaron Wood
nice fuckin still frame fast travel previews idiot the actual game looks like dogshit
Landon Butler
I wish I wasn't poor so I could get the consoles these games are on and play them. I've got a switch now but games are always 60 bucks so it takes forever for me to get one I'm hoping to pick up XC2 over the summer but I really wish I could play X as well.
Thinkin about playing it on Cemu, are there any fixes/graphical adjustments I should know about
Isaac Taylor
I do have a job but it doesn't pay well and shit's expensive where I live. That and medical bills suck.
Cooper Lewis
This sound like shit, XenoX needed a way to get drops more easily, farming shit takes way to long, and good luck if you are not allowed to use the online
Does it actually work? I just set up the WiiU for X again becasue I heard xbx on cemu has random crashes.
Zachary Powell
technically speaking shulk is a shield
Jonathan Nelson
I barely have the energy to post snarky cemu screenshots displaying how much it shits on playing the console version anymore, you can just change the shitty parts of the game. occasional crashes that I've experienced, though usually it's after I've been monkeying around with cheat engine to change the titty slider or messing with graphics packs, I notice the framerate start to chug before a crash so basically save often and save early since the game lacks an autosave.
If I owned anything stronger than a laptop I certainly would try emulation.
Xavier Russell
>that picture i swear the farming to make something in endgame is fucking tedious and i hope if Monolith ports the game makes getting shit easy, i dont want to do the same shit and fight the same boss just to farm tickets, the game is fun as fuck until you reach that point. i dont have the autism to do all that shit again.
then just play it on cemu and give yourself a bunch of tickets, or multiply the amount you get from legit aquisition by 5 or 10 or 50, shit like that.
Sebastian Edwards
Nothing changing on the censorship that happened with the original release?
Adam Perry
The characters look better. The enviroment does not
Kayden Anderson
of course not, the idea of someone doing a young character with a minimum boob slider and then wearing that stupid bunnygirl outfit terrifies them, so noone gets to have them, or a boob slider for that matter unless they emulate and patch the censorship out and cheat engine their tiddies.
Aiden Rivera
If Xeno x willever be released on Switch I'm going to buy original Japanese release anyway. Culturalized, butchered translations of Xenoblade games went beyond any sanity level. It's so fucking bad that I can't even say how. They changed everything that they only could in Xenoblade 2. It's completely different game in the west. I don't know why it's still happening in 201*,but Nintendo need to wake up from 80s and start doing translations instead of complete rewrites. Or at least give translation for anyone with properly functional brain (people who are using original voices). I don't care what they will do with dub and I don't give a fuck about it. Just make proper 2nd script.
>Will we ever get X2 bros? I'm pretty sure Takahashi said he wants to do it.
Jaxson Murphy
I really miss the comfy aspect of the first 3 chapters where the party mostly goes on wild adventures, ever since ending chapter 3 the game feels like this mad dash for the ending with impending doom on the horizon, maybe it was intended but I fear the younger protagonist makes it hard to take seriously, I think a time skip like ocarina of time would have made the pacing and power gaps a lot more convincing, rex suddenly giving up for 3 minutes after facing jin and then going WTF I love pyra now! was a bit hammed
Camden Hill
Man I like the game but it sure does turns me off the more I play it >retarded close range camera >barely functional map >the weird face with giant eyes that certain characters have, it's like having multiple art styles in the same game >early game is literally playing a stealth game while exploring and trying to avoid dozens of higher level monster only to fight a couple of monsters within your level range at the end of any quest >random high level monster hiding under the ground only to 1 shot your party in combat >not being able to manually select a target/bodypart to attack in combat >tatsu xd
We have a protagonist. It´s Elma. we just play as one of her underlings
Dominic Peterson
>It's so fucking bad that I can't even say how.
>It's so terrible! I can't explain how it's terrible though I have yet to see a coherent explanation of the problems with these translations that isn't just "they changed characters' names!" or "they toned down this sex joke, the game is ruined". People swear up and down that the characters in X were drastically rewritten in the localization, but they never seem to be willing to back up their statements.
Benjamin Edwards
Biggest trol mob i have ever seen, designed to get you at least twice. Love it, lost an ares 90 against it.
Hudson Phillips
>random high level monster hiding under the ground only to 1 shot your party in combat if you can't appreciate this you don't deserve to enjoy xenoblade
Adam Howard
>always someone wandering around aimlessly like in botw
What´s the strategy to beat this fucker, anyways? I just gave up after a while. Is it really a super end game boss or does it require a set strategy that makes him easy even in lower levels?
This. I love how this game has all kinds of monsters roaming around doing their thing instead of everything being place for player convenience so you never have to worry about any danger as there is none
Jace Roberts
what about the censorship? will it be removed? would it feature dual audio? did they fix the god awful pop in? are party members still a pain in the ass to reclute every time you take them out of your party?
Samuel Williams
>random high level monster hiding under the ground only to 1 shot your party in combat Git gud.
Lucas Bell
Honestly I´d be happy with slightly larger texts as I´m fucking blind and can´t read shit in this game for some reason
Gavin Bell
Funny how every wanks about the mechs but once you get it trivialized the gameplay and exploration, especially when you get to fly.
Hudson Howard
The exploration doesn't get good until you get the mech, though.
Jace Price
you say that but in my experience people are excited to get their first mech and then go "wait whats insurance" after they trash it three times and don't use skells again until they buy their first level 30 one.
Michael Mitchell
If the delivery was not Persona levels of shit at parts;the song could have been better
Justin Jackson
>I'm a just whiner who read via the internet on forums specifically dedicated to discussing every element of XCX that with specific drops and specific weapons and specific parties and specific actions with specific skills working together that battles can be "broken" with a lot of investment and information Did you know there was a time when games had "cheat codes" and gamers had to buy magazines or invest hundreds of hours and literally verbally talk to their friends to find out how to get extra lives or skip to end levels?
Mason Lewis
Do I need to explain it all over again even if there's hundreds reviews and videos about it. Yes. They changed everthing. They even rewrote everthing about the lore and any references. No matter if it was about Japanese popculture, traditional beliefs or Christian references that this game was build on. And please don't try to defend it that they only replaced it with shitty Greek mythology (which is ridiculous anyway). They changed all character names, completely altered personalities and removed anything about anime tropes and references (one of the strongest points of this game). They even replaced moe joke, even if it was about explaining what moe means. They introduced whole lot of straight translation fuck ups (when Hikari said that it's her first onsen visit in 500 years and in English she said that she didn't bathed for 500 years). They fucked up relations between characters. They fucked up nopon quirks. They fucked up Hana naming. I won't even comment on dubbing because dubbing is always the lowest tier way to consume anything. Changing the names itself is retarded as fuck and I cringe every time when I see something like this. Retards are even using these names when thay are translating fucking doujins. That's definitely the most butchered translation which I've ever seen. Even Fire Emblem If (or fates) wasn't butchered so much if you look at it as a whole game.
Grayson Martinez
The monolib.cpk will still be a .cpk which is a packed archive, inside that archive are vartious .inis and other files and the .ini you'll need to edit.
Gabriel Gutierrez
Oh brother, just play the japanese version mate. I still cannot fathom how a vocal minority continues to complain about something the majority doesnt care about. Nintendo Treehouse will continue to do bad localizations unless Nintendo decided to have it localized by a different group. Either deal with the bad localization or learn Japanese, nintendo and most companies arent going to care what the minority complains about.
Landon Sullivan
Lmao Tatsu food.
Nathan Anderson
What sucks is there's always a chance for failure when changing localization studios. You might get 'flavor' butchered localizations, or near literal translations. And we have full proof of a series that suffers from both of these. Just look at what happened to Ys. It was a choice between Xseed 'flavor' or literal nonsense from NISA.
Aaron Wood
I literally said that I have Japanese version and played fully in Japanese. I'm just fucking disgusted how trashy and completely different is western version. I compared it with my friend who bought western release and used original voices. Even though he just started learning Japanese this year, he was able to tell how much butchered it was and he ended up playing with me because he wanted to know original story and characters. I wouldn't complain if western version had original voices and language included (why the fuck original language is removed? It's never happen with western games, I can't imaging playing GTA in my language because TL is fucking awful in my language, but it's not a problem because I can switch to original with no time, I don't even need to do it because my PC language is set to English). Why I need to pay 2, sometimes 3x more for being able to play using original language? That's fucking ridiculous.
Leo Torres
What game has a good localization? I honestly can't tell if something is good or bad until people complain about all the changes.
Joseph Mitchell
PQube is literally the only publisher that know how their translations should be done. Xseed is a trash, I hate them almost as I hate tree house. And if I needed to choose between something like Ys or something like tree house, I would pick Ys any time.
Utawarerumono And any game Matsuno touches: FF12, Ogre Tactics, etc
Those are localizations done right. Unfortunately NISA has Utawarerumono now, so i'm expecting a Ys8 part 2.
Noah Morgan
-Persona 5 (please don't quote these Twitter winners and failed novelists) -Gal Gun Games -Stella Glow is pretty decent -Our World is Ended (Oretachi no Sekai wa Owatteiru) too -First Steins Gate VN (2nd is terrible) -Moero Chronicle And plenty other, but generally 90% Japanese games are completely fucked up.
Hudson Reed
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together for the PSP is kinda a case study in how to do a perfect localization. Especially if you put it side-by-side against the PS1 version.
Xavier Ramirez
From the bottom. That would be close.
If you're ignorant enough for not caring about actual beautiful story with really enjoyable characters and general Japanese feeling, fine. But there are many people that care about it.
Jordan Ross
What? Wasnt the localization for Ys8 so bad that it caused bugs? Didnt the entire game take 4 months in order to get retranslation? Wasnt the localization for other languages so bad that its basically gibberish?
I don't know, I played it about a month ago, so maybe it was patched already.
Owen Barnes
CAUSE THIS WORLD SUCKS
Dylan Bell
There's literally nothing wrong with the way that was localized.
Thomas Perry
You're crazy. The Ys8 localization was so bad that Japanese media caught wind causing Falcom themselves had to step in.
To be fair, he's not wrong. The mass mijority do not care about localizations. That's why we who do, learn Japanese. We're a minority that's mainly seen on message boards. As long as the game sells, they wont care.
Lucas Perry
In 2018 when it came out, Ys VIII's localisation was so bad and caused such a huge backlash that they had to bring in a new localisation team to re-localise the game from scratch and have all the voice actors re-dub the game.
Character personalities were rewritten, shit was translated wrongly, and pic-related, which was literally google translate-tier where even the Japanese somehow managed to localise their own shit better than the original Western team.
I'M LIVING IN THE FANCY HOUSE I DREAMED NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE BILLS
Logan Williams
I think people dont understand how badly Ys8 was treated. It wasnt just the localization, everything NISA did was horrible. The PC version was delayed for almost a year and it still barely runs well.
Before the retranslation, there were times the English Dub would suddenly turn into the Japanese Dub during flashbacks.
What was even worse is someone mixedup the information on 2 items in the game causing multiple gameplay issues. Information on one item was actually information on a different item and you were unaware of it unless you actually looked.
One thing the Ys8 disaster proved is, PEOPLE DO NOT CARE. Ys8 sold fantastically. Localization quality does not matter at all.
Joseph Cooper
>another fucking Wii U port
Shitch is literally the saddest Nintendo console ever
Cooper Cruz
It does though, its just not funny. For an example of censorship ACTUALLY causing a scene not to make sense, just look at the hospital scene from Xenosaga 3.
Pretty much what ive beensaying this whole time. The majority doesnt care about Censorship and Localizations. The games will sell if people are interested in them, that's all.
Cameron Watson
If they make a sequel, do you think it will be about the Japanese space arc that was in the artbook? I remember seeing an arc in the sky, not falling, during one of the main menu animations.
Zachary Ortiz
Cope, Eric.
Brandon Moore
Literally nothing. You either do some shitty fetch quests, fight easy mobs with the bad mmo combat, or pointless mobile game probe mechanics. That's it.
Grayson Ward
It is
Jose Sullivan
>Literally nothing >Proceeds to list things you do Yikes.
Brayden Johnson
>mindless wasting your time doing chores is gameplay No
Jayden Foster
Revelations Persona
Jaxson Hernandez
if you put it that way, jrpgs sound like absolute shit
Nathaniel Evans
Jrpgs actually have good combat systems and non shitty quests lines
If you have a break skell you can get alot of items very easily, the only exception's would be the legendary items and the time attack one's. The time attack ones actaully are very annoying to grind.
Wyatt Reed
That's literally every FF title. The only games that require some sort of mental feedback are FF12 and the MMO.
Levi Moore
ATB was never good
William Cox
>FF12 absolutely not. In fact, it's the one game that doesn't even require pushing a button. Just the analog stick.
>X2 is about neo-Tokyo traveling through space trying to make contact with NLA, nu-Paris, etc a la Xenosaga >ends with a large-scale confrontation with the aliens, causing them to crash onto an unknown planet >X3 is back to NLA some years later as they discover neo-Tokyo on the far reaches of Mira FUND IT TAKAHASHI
