It wasn’t Japanese

Horrible level design, and AI. Bland story/setting. One take-down animation.

This.

Ladder Simulator 2013

It was a shit movie masquerading as a video game.

It wasn't on ꜱoybox

No one on Yea Forums has actually played it and just parrot the opinions of people that either don’t like Sony or don’t like anything that is after 2001. The game is a 7/10 especially played on the higher difficulties

It's one of my favorite games of all time, my user.

I loved it. Yea Forums is just stupid

i like it but there's so much padding from when the hunters stop you until the black brothers.
I wish you could skip it.
Also the fanbase is annoying like the GOTW and BOTW fanbase

Shitty, unremarkable, generic TPS movie hailed as the second coming of Christ by pretentious (((journalist))) assholes and retarded normalfags. Major contributor to the rise of movie "games" being accepted as the norm. Perpetuating the creation of """remasters""" which are nothing but resolution increases to scam all the retards that are just interested in muh gwaffix.

Because it’s the most overrated game ever. It’s a solid game and it’s praised as the second coming. There’s nothing in TLoU that every other AAA game doesn’t have this decade. Servicable sure, but masterful?

It’s a great game but definitely overrated. Days Gone is genuinely a more enjoyable game than Last of Us

>there are 2 whole minutes of ladder gameplay
Well memes dingus

pretentious high budget shit that isn't fun.

I really enjoyed my first playthrough. It had tension, some cool sections (really liked the part in the suburbs) and was overall tightly made. Stuff like the boring move the ladder sections sucked, but everything else kinda kept it going. I've tried booting it up for a second run and yeah nope. This isn't a game that lends well to being replayed, which kinda sucks.

The loudest Yea Forumsautists are Nintendies, so of course they hate on it. Literally everyone else, even Xbots, love it

I plat'd it though and beat Grounded. Good game but I think The Evil Within games do it better.

The evil within games' story is complete garbage, and the pacing, for the first game especially, is terrible

I enjoyed it. It was a solid, fun game.
But I have no desire for more of it. "Third person shooter, crafting, survival, zombie game" is such an overused genre at this point. It's just too saturated. And last of us 2 just looks like more of the same gameplay but trying even harder to be "serious."

Based. Most of Yea Forums never played it and simply swallowed the meme that it's a movie game with an SJW story. While it is a movie game, it still has better gameplay than a lot of "gameplay first" games, and the only "SJW" thing about it is that it has gay characters. Which is to say, it isn't really SJW. Druckman is an SJW, but the game itself isn't explicitly SJW in any way. While Druckman is a drooling retard when it comes to politics, I can separate the art from the artist and admit that just this once, he actually managed to make a good game.

Yea Forums probably loved it, then did a 180 once they realized it was so popular and mainstream.
Congratulations, 75% of your post has nothing to do with the game itself and everything about how it was overrated by critics. Who gives a shit?

Because they hate everything who cares Yea Forums opinions don't matter. Ignore them and play video games.

Truer words have neber been spogen

It's a boring ass cinematic third person zombie game...with mushrooms

I did. Play it for the first time on PS4, grounded mode without upgrading any of Joel's abilities. It was a really fun game - I just don't want to play as Ellie going on an irrelevant revenge quest.

All of my friends love it because it plays like a movie. I played through it, and I can see why they think that. It really plays like a movie. It's not open-world and easy to pick up in small bursts so it's not like a huge commitment. Most normies can't suck their time into online games. And it has a story that is cliche enough to be a cheesy b-grade action / horror film with enough "oh" and "aww" moments. The kind of cringe where you play this game in front of your girlfriend and she's really into it because it's not a weird anime game. The twist is bland and predictable and the title is hopelessly ironic.

It's a typical Naughty Dog game. It's a functional but shallow experience from start to finish. Nothing really bad, but nothing great either.

For me, the aesthetics and combat are the high points, while the story, characters, and replay value are the lows.

I wholeheartedly agree. This is one instance where if the game was Japanese I believe it would be regarded as one of the best games of all time by Yea Forums. If TLoU was a Capcom game these fools would be all over it.

would you say Crash Bandicoot and Last of Us follow a similar gameplay pattern?

Sounds like your mom

Yes

Played it for the first time a month ago
I liked Ellie
That's basically it
It's broken. Shitty AI and shitty levels that you can abuse by running
And fuck companions running and screaming like retards around clickers

Like one user said, It was good the first time because of the story but there's barely any game in TLOU. Like you can't pay me to replay the game again, the gameplay can be that monotonous

dumb pedo

It was good, problem is that it was extremely overrated. tlou was one of the first oscar bait games and it actually worked.

Because it's an exclusive on snoybox and it's not japanese. The mulitplayer was one of the best when it was active thanks to its core gameplay mechanics. It's touted as a movie game even though compared to something like Xenoblade's 13 hours of cutscenes youtube.com/watch?v=60WhCcfcSBE, you have Last of Us's 1.5 hours of cutscenes youtube.com/watch?v=XoeZJLHnbNk.

Pretty boring game. There's not a lot going on in it so the flaws it has really stand out. The best parts of the game are where the game doesn't have much room to fuck up, so basically when you're all alone and dealing with zombies on your own such as in the basement of the hotel. The human AI is really weird and breaks constantly. The allied AI cheats way too much and it just goes to show the game was not ready for its own release. Any other game I'd hand wave flaws like this but when it's literally the only thing the game is trying to do it's hard to stomach. Naughty Dog was at their best on the PS2, I'd rather see them go back to making fun games or stop with the monolithic megagame meme because it's not sustainable and results in serious mediocrity.

Yeah, that's more or less what I thought. None of its mechanics feel particularly fleshed out and it tries to do a lot of things (stealth, shooter and resource management) but none of them are developed enough. It's a very shallow game, so the best parts are simply atmosphere and environment. But again, I want to play a game, not a movie.

Because people who didn't like it spent years complaining about it and those who liked it completed it, maybe played it a couple more times and moved on.

I love it honestly.

>Yea Forums
>liking games

Conveniently TLoU is a movie, not a game. No wonder so many tasteless fucks here love it.

Because the sequel is PS4 exclusive

I liked it but it could have been better
>AI is hard set on what ND gave them, instead of melee/no-gun users grabbing dead gun-users gun
>AI gets infinite ammo because of this inability to change styles
>survival/loot is heavily skewed towards stealth but infinite ammo shooting enemies still only drop 1 bullet

Yeah, if there were more to it I think I'd enjoy it a lot more. I think it could be done, fleshing out all of those elements so they work better is definitely something that could be reasonably achieved. I never felt like I was being challenged any more in any way from my first encounter to my last. Maybe the later ones were easier because I had an M4 and explosives aplenty.

I won't defend TEW's story, its pretty terrible, but i enjoyed how it didn't push the melodrama as much as TLoU. TEW2 on the other hand...

>Naughty Dog was at their best on the PS2
Jak & Daxter fucking sucks. Insomniac > Sucker Punch > Naughty Dog.

It reminds how lonely i am by not having a loligf

what is there to like?
the story is kind of secondary (not impressive at all), the whole drama is just "let random characters die"
the gameplay is just walking around, take ladder 1-29 and place it somewhere else.
each area looks the same, each enemy is the same, and your combat action is allways the same
tell me where i am wrong, last of us defenders.
also, what makes it different from any other third person schooter?

i completed the remastered version, its 5/10 game (6/10 at best)
it feels more like the people praising it never played it.

It shluld have been a tv show or movie

The one credit I'd give it is that it is one of the only games I've played where I've felt that it was an absolute necessity to use traps, though that was still probably because of the very small number of usable items. Nonetheless, it was quite satisfying to have my nail bomb mines be actually useful and not superfluous for a change

Ellie was the only good part

What in your opinion makes it 6/10 specifically. And what’s a 10/10 for you

it was pretty good, not great. combat as enjoyable but ellie phasing through spacetime was trash. the story was nice but walk and talk was not.
if normies didnt think it was 10/10 goat i bet a lot more people would admit it was fun

it means its an ok game.
>And what’s a 10/10 for you
a better story, more diversive gameplay.
wouldnt it hur them to add more enemy types, or remove 3/4th of the repeatable ladder climbing?

I agree I think it’s a little better than ok there are definitely highs and lows but it’s not perfect. I was asking about specific titles you think are 10/10 trying to gauge where your coming from.

The Evil Within 2 was literally a better The Last of Us in every way conceivable

warcraft 3
dark messiah
prey (2006)
guild wars 1
