Squid apartments with purchasable furniture. Not customizable to the level of Animal Crossing, mind you, just have some shit like Wallpaper/Desk/Computer/Bed/Flooring be purchasable and swappable. Computer can be used for various different functionalities, like party making and such.
The UI is now based around your Squidkid's phone. the phone itself is pretty uneditable aside from whether it's a squid or octophone, but you can unlock/buy wallpapers and charms to hang on it that jingle around whenever you pull up the menu. You can also purchase and customize little jingles that play when a match is ready, whenever Grizzco is open, when the maps rotate out, etc. These jingles are also available for download through the Nintendo Online app after unlocking them in-game, for use as your real text/ringtone.
Music Albums are now one of the items you can buy. Music playlists can be created for each gamemode using the tracks you've unlocked, though Grizzco forces you to use the default Salmon Run music until Profreshional and Story Mode won't let you use your music until you beat it.

Ability to play with my friends in a party without having them go into a game first THEN joining them. I don't even mind not being on the same team as them, just let me play with them right away instead of waiting for a slot to open. There's League Battles, but sometimes I just want to do unranked/Turf Wars or play with newfriends that haven't gotten to B- yet.
