had to get a new ps4 cause my last one died and I've been trying to beat this just to clear out the missions. But holy fuck, why is the story so tedious, and why are the controls such ass?

Change the deadzone and shut off aim acceleration to help with the clunkyness.

As for the story what chapter are you on? It picks up around chapter 3 and gets crazier till the end IMO. But if story you aren't a fan of story based games it might not be your cup of tea.

what

Stop running around all over the place like an utter bell end.

fpbp

I beat the game shortly after release, and I'm currently in saint denis doing missions to get jack back, I've had to re-do the grave robber mission a few times just because I can't be assed to do it.

and I meant more the shit with the horses who seem to actively want to run into trees

Oh ya a second play through would probably have me bored to tears with the story desu.

>the horses
It's this weird mechanic where they autopilot you at a certain speed to make the horse walk around trees and other obstructions.
It's complete shit, let me walk around them myself R*.

Did you not experience this the first time through or something?

if all the mechanics were exactly the same as the last RDR, and they just prettied up the graphics to what they are now, the game would be at least twice as good. but they had to go for "muh realism"

it was easier to look past any flaws while the hype high was still calming down, but now it's been over a month since I replaced my PS4 and I'm only halfway through the fucking story

Not ashamed to say I dropped this piece of shit because of the controls.
Anti-fun shouldn't be rewarded, but I already paid for the game so I guess they don't care.

>but they had to go for "muh realism"
literally no game out there feels or plays like it. So I don't really understand this critique. Are they not allowed to adventure and try different things? Most devs don't have the balls to even attempt it

Literally the easiest game to control and maneuver around in

And still succeed

I liked being able to walk through Saint Denis without needing to smash the sprint button to the next mission and just talk it all in. The game's sound design really helps the immersion too.
Granted, most of the other shit is executed badly. But it helps if you're willing to slow down and enjoy the gameworld.

You've probably put this together, but the controls are ass because it results in more cinematic gameplay. With the exception of sliding all over to get to the right part of your horse and clumsily running into doorways all the time. I don't agree that the story is tedious, but it does become pretty clear where you're ultimately headed pretty early on.

Man the story in this game was so fucking bad. Even with Hollywood's abysmal standards it would be laughed out of theaters if it were a movie. The free roam was amazing but the buttfucking retarded story even managed to ruin that bit of fun by swapping out camps every five minutes and giving you a retarded disease.

Best story of any video game out there

what's the matter baby boi? i thought you were all masters of video games. if games like dark souls hold no challenge for you but controls where you must take notion of the animations do. you're pretty bad lmao.

This was the first game made with 25% gays and 50% women. Its a cancer and you can always tell when a game is made by people that are gamer posers. They arent real gamers like us guys.

Actually I didn't feel the SJW vibes too hard from rdr2 thankfully
