>“There are two different production teams here, simply named Production Team 1 and Production Team 2. Team 1 is fully dedicated to Gear Project, while Team 2 is for the Pokémon operation. What that means is that Game Freak as a company is prioritising Gear Project, which is production team number one, more than Pokémon in general.”
Pokemon was the B Team even when they had one team.
Charles Turner
>we wanna make shit different from Pokemon >probably just gonna make some top down, open world andventure game where you collect creatures to fight people in turn based combat with a tumblr art style
Juan Scott
This can only be a good thing. I'd rather they move on from Pokémon and give it to another dev team to handle it than themselves, they clearly lost their spirits when the normies lambasted their masterpieces in Gen 5. Even when their original IPs bomb they are more interesting to look at than watered down Masuda rehash #17.
Alexander Cruz
>Gen 5 >masterpiece ...
Christopher Miller
>”There is a lot of back-and-forth between Team 1 and Team 2. One of the interesting things is that Team 2, which is dedicated to Pokémon, only knows about specific platforms.”
Game Freak is leaving Nintendo behind it seems, their main project is a multiplat by the looks of it.
Aiden Brown
All Japan ever wants are jrpg's and gachas anyways.
Carson Parker
Yep, B2W2 were undoubtedly the best games
Justin James
B/W and B/W2 was the peak of the franchise. Step down genwunner.
William Morales
That's not new though. They made multiple multiplat games already. They're shit but they're there
When the debate is lost, wojak becomes the tool of the loser.” ― Socrates
Tyler Lewis
No not really.
Liam Walker
DS era in general was peak of the franchise >Platinum being great >BW and BW2 doing a semi reboot and leaving japan regions for not-america >Best remakes with HGSS >All those cool as fuck spinoffs
Easton Flores
Thing is that Pokemon was never good.
Christopher White
Oh please do tell me which generation you think is the best so I can shit on it mercilessly, otherwise you're just going to be going back and forth with ad hominems.
Matthew Anderson
>The release disasters of Tembo were pretty funny though. How was that a disaster? Not the quality of the game itself necessarily, but the release of it.
Jayden Miller
Doesn't change the fact that Gen V is peak pokemon.
Sebastian Sullivan
I wouldn't say peak but it was definitely the last time they made a real effort and just because they prioritised showing off new Pokemon people call it the worst games
Jordan Hill
HarmoKnight was Game Freak and while it left some to be desired in that it was rather short and not too difficult, they did a good job on it and I think they could be successful branching out. I would love an upgraded version of HarmoKnight.
Jacob Watson
I dont play shit games though. I would rather play any SMT game over baby's first RPG.
Jose Hughes
>priced at $40 on PS4 at release instead of $15 >the version they put on Steam version was the demo instead of the full game
Lincoln Scott
I pirated Giga Wrecker because it looked interesting at least. Never bothered to play it though.
>Gamefreak treated Pokemon like it was B material even when it was their only material >Will now be lower priority This is not a good sign.
Alexander Davis
kek yes
Brayden Bell
More like B team 1 and B team 2
Dylan James
>This pokemon generation isn't as good as other ones >Lmao I don't even play pokemon you contributed less than nothing to this thread.
Kayden Barnes
why does nintendo put up with gamefreaks shit
Jordan Thompson
this game also looks like shit
like those many many forgetable 3DS RPGS
Parker Evans
Because Nintendo only owns so much of Pokemon. Meanwhile, GF owns the rest of it. They could just as easily buy Pokemon from them, but that's not happening.
Andrew Taylor
Which secondary Pokemon studio would you make the A Team if GF decided to hand over the reins? >Creatures - Stadium/Ranger/Detective Pikachu series >Genius Sonority - Colosseum/XD/Shuffle >Ambrella - Rumble series
Camden Rogers
Genius fell off after the Colosseum era. Shuffle is borderline retarded. You should have put Monolith Soft in here.
Nathan Smith
Gamefreak owns a majority of Pokémon You’d think they’d get together with Creatures inc to take them down but they’re too busy rolling in Trading card money
William Flores
Idea. Pokemon photography game by the Fatal Frame team.
Thomas Powell
You forgot battle revolution for Genius Sonority. I'd pick them though they got fucking SICK music. youtube.com/watch?v=8qasnF5-Wus
Jason Robinson
None of them. Keep the artists and musicians, let either Atlus or Level-5 handle the actual game making.
Chase Scott
What about HAL?
Luke Rivera
I'm classing Creatures as HAL since that's where most of the team ended up. Current HAL is just the Kirby studio.
Jaxon Roberts
Hal is just doing Kirby spinoffs now.
Aaron Smith
The B team made literally all the best Pokemon games. Good.
Camden Turner
It's a short game you have to make yourself play and your brain will just chuck it out the second you finish it and this is coming from someone who liked Harmoknight.
Henry Walker
Gamefreak doesn't want to be Pokemon anymore. Not just Pokemon only, but Pokemon in general. In five years, Nintendo will announce that Gamefreak is handing off development of the latest entry to Atlus, who will be excited to bring more social aspects to Pokemon raising. Trust will be central to the game and caring for your team properly will be the difference between Pokemon listening or not. This will be facilitated with the next consoles voice and facial recognition system. Your pokemon will know you by these as well as others. If you trade away your pokemon, then they likely won't behave for their new trainer if they were super attached to you, unless you speak to them and calm them down. Get ready for Atlus to drag the games into the ground with worse ideas then Gamefreak in half the time.
Dominic Baker
Haha eat shit /vp/
Dominic Bell
Gamefreak absorbed most of Genius Senority after PBR anyway.
Jose Cruz
Why would we? Pokemon has been going down the drain from GF's senior staff going senile. This is good news.
Juan Williams
Creatures Inc. is a wholey owned subsidiary of Nintendo. Gamefreak doesn't own a majority. There's a reason the IP is handled by another company entirely at an international level. They must have some contract that means only mainline games can be made by them, or just a firm understanding from Nintendo to avoid potentially ruining the franchise over the years.
Logan Martinez
>Pokemon Battle Revolution Oh god now there was a disappointment.
Easton Johnson
Drill Dozer or Pulseman sequel when?
Angel Brown
They should just get some other devs to make a popular spinoff series like Persona so they can give the main games time to cook.
Jaxson Morgan
>with a tumblr art style ...what?
Samuel Peterson
at least it had good music and manages to have more animations than lets go
Luke Collins
GF can only do Ken Sugimori or James Turner art styles anyway.
Jace Rogers
Define Tumblr Artstyle.
Grayson Wilson
>Pokémon is B-Team It always was. Have you never played it before?
Chase Hill
Am I the only one that felt sun and moon were the best pokemon games to date? I never played ultra sun/moon so that might be even better
Ethan Rogers
It's alright for one playthrough, but trying to play it again or USUM is torture because you can't skip the cutscenes.
