Vanilla WoW won't be how you remember it no matter how accurate it is because you won't be the same age and the playerbase will be wildly different

>relive
i was doing life back then, i was graduating high school when wow even came out and even if i'd had the fucking time for it i was not inclined at all to play another mmorpg after spending my pre-to-early teens on everquest. when i got out of the navy in 09 my friends got me into wotlk but they ditched me after that while i got addicted to a game that i now just played alone and got on the new "lfd" treadmill and by the time i reached endgame i was so burned out and detached from anything going on in the story. you people really don't understand what it's like to start with so much of the content just a graveyard and you're rushing to get to shit that other people were able to start the week the expansion came out while you're at the end of it's life. it's fucking horrible. we need these servers, i'm 33 now and i have free time and lots of disposable income and legal weed in my state so i fucking need this. i had nostalrius and it was so much more fun than retail, but they nuked it. you mother fuckers. die. just fucking die. the whole world isn't you, the whole fucking world isn't some stupid ass brat who was 11 in 2004.

Ah, sharding. Just like the good old days...

Not enough fog of war

Haha this is so me and my friend, upvoted!

I haven't played WoW since BC. What's sharding? I know what sharting is.

Yeah no one will be talking about 2000s stuff or 90s stuff it will be politics memes and gay 2010s shit

I think sharding is having instanced open world areas? So even though you're on the same server you won't see everyone

What. Doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of playing WoW? And literally every other MMORPG?

can someone explain this to me as someone who doesn't play wow but likes to laugh at it?

Gacha must have rotted your brain, what a stupid statement to make.

Ayoo
Wololo

This.

You will play it for the initial hype and then let it die off within the next 3 months. You will login to the same playerbase as retail and spot the same group of retards spamming trade chat with politics and then realize you're bored of WoW again.

Then it's on to the next flavor of the month. Halo.

Cute Davi

Sneed

He's posting a webm of a sharding demonstration from Blizzcon showfloor. It doesn't actually work like that in-game, that's an extreme example staged for demo purposes.
In actual Classic gameplay, the way it works is that if an area is severely flooded by players due to the launch day, it will divide the players into separate sub-servers so that there are no 1000 players in the same zone, making it impossible for anyone to kill mobs and level.
Basically it makes each server be a multiverse of several servers.

This system will be disabled days or a week or so after launch once the ridiculous flood of the launch day has subsided, but for some reason butthurt people like the guy who uploaded the webm are trying to create a false narrative that it is a permanent feature, and they pretend like that demonstration of sharding from Blizzcon is actual gameplay footage from the Classic beta.

The very fact that RIGHT NOW they are conducting a stress test of having thousands of players in the same areas with no sharding happening at all is evidence that they intend to have it turned off. As if it wasn't enough evidence already that they stated in interviews that sharding is only temporary.

fucking based

yes but blizzard ruins everything and these fags let them get away with it but because 'muh home'

See You are lying faggots. Sharding is literally not a thing in Classic. The WEBM is of a demonstration of sharding from Blizzcon, not from Classic beta.
It is a known fact that sharding will be used on launch day or the first few days so that the servers will not crash, and then it is permanently disabled in Classic.

Stop being a bunch of dishonest niggers, you aren't going to achieve anything by lying so badly.

if it ever comes out lol

nigger...

>you aren't going to achieve anything by lying so badly.
yes, they will

... Until we realise that vanilla was always a terrible clusterfuck that we only enjoyed because it was new and unknown, and autists will now leech all of the fun out of it in exactly the same way they do retail.

Too bad for you retailcucks that will never happen, because it still is the best version of WoW and best MMORPG that has existed.
People have been happily playing vanilla for 15 years now. Its only going to continue in much larger numbers now that official servers are coming.

“Better than helms deep”

>it won't be boomers nostalgiafagging about 2000s stuff and 90s stuff

Why are you flat out lying about sharding, to the point of making several paragraphs? It's confirmed to be in the open beta and will be in the final release "for a couple of weeks" and will also cover levels 1-10.

If you play pvp you're going to get styled on by grandpas. How does that make you feel?

Attached: 1546679964849.jpg (443x455, 96K)

The old farts have slipped into cognitive decline and will be so crippled by age-related health conditions and side effects of medications that they won't be able to compete with the youngsters whose young minds will learn the mechanics of the game effortlessly and instantaneously surpassing the grandpas within days.

>Sharding is literally not a thing in Classic
youtube.com/watch?v=Q-GobXQTf6w
The asshole himself confirms it.

You're the one lying, I stated nothing but facts. I never said it is not in the open beta, I said they were just doing a stress test without it you sperg. Literally like 200k viewers on Twitch saw that just now you retard.
Also, sharding in the beta so far has been nothing like on retail. On retail you will never, ever come across the same player twice basically. On Classic beta people constantly keep randomly running into the same players they had met previous days. It is clearly very tuned down version of sharding.
>will be in the final release "for a couple of weeks"
They said at latest a couple weeks until it gets turned off, but likely to be within a few days already.
>and will also cover levels 1-10
Why wouldn't it? Otherwise there's going to be like 1000 players in Durotar at the same time, that's not a fun time for anyone.
It's absurd that you people are unironically MAD over them trying to find a solution that lets us fucking play on launch day. It sounds like you want a repeat of Diablo 3's catastrophic launch where servers couldn't handle the amount of players and no one was able to log in for weeks.

nah people only like vanilla for nostalgia reasons. and this is coming from someone who plays vanilla private servers and has many 60s on 1x private servers. the game didnt actually become good until bc. 3.1 was the peak of the game.

I was obviously referring to the permanent state of Classic after the early launch sharding, I very clearly and literally pointed out it will have sharding at launch. Least you could do is not be so dishonest.

Nope. 100% objectively wrong. Vanilla was the best version of the game, the very peak of it, and that is why people wanted it back. No one ever asked for a return to TBC or Wrath.

actually people are constantly asking for that if you bother to step outside of your echo chamber

>going to attempt to play granblue and classic at the same time
It's really not gonna work out, but I'll try anyway.

No they aren't, not even 1% as much as for vanilla. The majority acknowledges vanilla is by far the peak of WoW gameplay.

Little known fact. The item he drops can damage other players without triggering guards attacking you, so you can zap people who are dueling in say, gadgetzan, finish them off safely and if someone attacks you over it the guards will push their shit in.

>No one ever asked for a return to Wrath.
LOOK AT HIS LIPS

How high is the suicide rate gonna rise when people realise they’ve been chasing a feeling of nostalgia that classic WoW isn’t going to deliver? Your teenage years are over, deal with it.

This.

Now play Girls Frontline

You're probably the only one here obsessed with the idea of suicide.

>peak of gameplay
>every raid boss is the same tank and spank bullshit
>many specs are entirely useless and laughed at while others are very op
>dungeons are confusing poorly designed messes
>pvp consists of boring zergs or people abusing certain classes
only reason its good is because its "fun with friends" which is a terrible argument for why a game is good or bad.

I think its a deeper issue that targets the "gamer" population, that'd explain the "muh aventure feeling" and "muh community"

Lol omg same!
