Because all the shit about the knockdown changes goes quiet the second the real gameplay begins - at the bosses. But then Atlus thought, "What if we were to redux the full moon bosses into legitimate threats for more endgame content while also letting the player fight an additional superboss all of the redux fights are cleared?".

Portable offers the optimal experience in terms of gameplay. Don't let the FESniggers tell you otherwise. Don't play with full control either unless you're fighting redux Emperor+Empress.

Skillcards are a great addition that allow you more freedom in what personas to use. You can change party member equipment and check their stats from the pause menu like you should have been able to do from the beginning. You actually get to see party members' stat changes on level up instead of just having them say "OH HEY I LEVELED UP BTW" after the battle.

I actually only ever played P3P. I tried FES a few weeks ago and dropped it after the first night exploring Tartarus. I would have been willing to at least attempt a full run if all I had to deal with was MARIN KARIN, but I'm not going to talk to my party in the field every time I want to change their equipment or check how long until they level up, that's just bad game design.

I can't wait for the remake to turn the combat into a shittier version of P5's.
