Please recommend me games in which: I can have music/podcast on the background I can alt+tab and do other stuff whenever I want And ideally but not really needed: That I can play without a mouse (using my laptop's touch pad) That have some exploration or building components That I can find easily
I really didn't want to make a new thread for this but I found nowhere to ask
It's crazy seeing this and knowing this is when and where she contracted brain eating amoeba.

Anything turnbased lol
Andrew Powell
Will give it a try thanks I've played a lot of civ5 already, but thanks anyway, it was a good suggestion will look into it Is Terraria good? I've felt tempted to get it but also it looks rather simplistic. Poker is boring as fuck dude, I used to play it with my pals and I convinced them to never do it again. And it's not like I lost all the time. All weebs should burn idk who she even is tBh
>listening to podcast while playing a game while doing something else jesus christ you fucking zoomer try to focus on one thing for once and you might actually get something done one day
Angel Hill
>garrys mod what can you do in garrys mod in singleplayer?
Charles Carter
>listening to bar exam prep lectures without doing anything else
Not OP, but fuck that. Even at 1.5x speed this shit sucks.
Adam King
>Truck Simulator absolutely hated that you can't go over speed limit tBh
John Evans
build contraptions spawn AI into weird combat situations generally dick about for a couple hundred hours
Carter Gonzalez
That's why books exist You can go through material at your own speed
Camden James
>he has never played Football Manager while listening to audiobooks and posting on /trb/ lmao kys

The Witness. -Bitesize yet challenging puzzles. -No music -Audio logs with subtitles, that don't matter to the story, so you can just as well ignore them entirely. -No real story anyway. -No time limits, save for a few time sensitive puzzles. -No building components, but there is a satisfying sense of completion, as you "fill out" all the area's puzzles. -On steam playstation and xbox.
It's only a puzzle game, but it can last you up to 50 hours, depending on how much you complete. I can personally attest that it's great for zoning out with podcasts, because I've done it many nights.
Hunter Rogers
Maybe try XCOM 2
Julian Nelson
Fallout 2
Connor Butler
Dominions 5. It's on steam.
Aaron Evans
Have you tried Battle Brothers? It's a turned based strategy game where you control a mercenary company in a low fantasy setting. There's no large campaign to complete, you are sort of just throw into the world and pick up quests in villages or cities until you are strong and rich enough to explore the wilderness without having your mercenaries desert you due to a lack of food or not being paid. In the wilderness you can run into big boss type monsters to take on, or big enemy settlements. This all comes with better potential loot for your mercenaries of course.
Any Paradox game WoW XCom games Stardew Valley Civ V
Grayson Edwards
>alt tabbing in the middle of the game to do other things >listening to anything besides the sound coming otu of the game while playing vidya Eat shit, you underage fuck.
Hunter Thomas
I'm 27, I don't have so much time to be so invested in games now. Sometimes I do, and I play games in which I need all senses put into it and stuff, but sometimes I want a more relaxed gameplay.
Adam Martinez
Very bad example, the audio will bug out if you alt+tab during turns and certain stuff like attack noises, movement commands and event notifications will play permanently on loop - loudly. Even if you go back to menu it will not stop until you restart the entire game.
Leo Clark
based
Oliver Roberts
OP here, I used to play Civ 5 and I never had this problem.
Julian Mitchell
tab a lot while the AI is doing their turns, only happens if you use all addons
I'm a fucking idiot and I had not considered emulators until now. Thanks.
Grayson Scott
>console physical >download code for full game OH NO NO NON ONONONONONONONO
Xavier Carter
BeamNG.drive
Christian Diaz
Undertale
Jacob Butler
Just alt-tab when there aren't any units on screen. Pan over the fog of war or one of the poles and it'll be fine
Jonathan Jenkins
or hit esc before alt tabbing like a sane person tBh
Chase Miller
honestly no mans sky fits those requirements but hard to recommend giving them $60
Asher Evans
Doesn't that pause the turn? It's nice to alt-tab out for long AI turns
Henry Mitchell
terraria is good
Landon Gray
>Is Terraria good? I've felt tempted to get it but also it looks rather simplistic. it's alright, pretty repetitive though playing minecraft with a touchpad is a nightmare and terraria is also kind of problematic without good precision factorio with enemies disabled
Brandon Gomez
OP here, I love NMS and It's perfect for that kind of gameplay. But to be honest you've done almost everything in 100 hours. Waiting for the autumn update to get back to it though.
satisfactory seems like it could be fun, not sure how much the creatures cause trouble or if you can disable them
Jace Reed
Tibia
Jaxson Nguyen
Age of Wonders 3! >CiV-like Campaign Map with strong focus on fantasy exploration and Turnbased Combat. >No Voice-Instructions or anything important that you couldnt read off the screen, just have a podcast and turn the battle effects to 30% >Tab out at any moment as nothing bad can happen >Little fiddly but easily to control with your touchpad >Build Towns, Cities, Empires, Armies and RPG-like Heroes >Runs on a Toaster >Very complex and strategical once you get used to it
Stardew Valley Minecraft Subnautica (not sure how important sound is, guessing pretty important since it's underwater, but consider it an extra challenge) Stranded deep Escaping the pacific No man's sky
Isaiah Hernandez
>BeamNG.Drive
seconded, driving is the best way to listen to podcasts etc. and this is the next best thing No reading to distract you, just the open road
Anthony Jones
caves of qud most roguelikes actually It's neckbeardy but I listen to most of my shit while playing those
Carson Barnes
how big are the maps in Age of Wonders III? If they can be as big as Civ’s large maps, it’ll be great.
Jace Sullivan
Every MMO Warframe
Anthony Murphy
They can be pretty damn big and even have underground layers just as big, efficiently doubling them in size. It's typically not what you wanna play it on. Unlike CiV AOW is not an entire empire sim but a small empire sim on top of a very very complex tactical fantasy battle wargame. The turnbased battles are just as important as mastering the campaign map.
It also has 2 Expansions which are really great and they both add massive amounts of new content and actual well written single player campaigns with new folks, mechanics, buildings, events e.t.c.
Isaiah Bailey
can you alt+tab off warframe? can you alt+tab off most MMOs?
Eli Watson
>can you alt+tab off most MMOs? yes, you can alt+tab out of almost every game.
Elijah Murphy
Dwarf Fort is all that
Jacob Rivera
Whore
Robert Taylor
Interesting, how about that Age of Wonders: Planetfall game on PS4, coming out soon, is it AoW III + expansions or something? I take it would play fine considering you said it runs on toasters too
James Ortiz
Yes but in MMOs sometimes you'd risk your character getting BTFOd if you alt tab
Here this is the largest map you can create in the game, I placed one ocean tile in each corner of the map and marked its width so you can look at it proportionally. This map has an underground layer which is exactly the same size as the overground layer. Underground layers can have additional underground layers but the only time I ever saw that was in the single player campaign, never on a player made map. It feels enroumous and quite overwhelming in the beginning, just jump into the singleplayer story if you actually wanna pick it up. You will soon notice how drawn out fights can be already on small maps.
not him but it looks good and I dont even like fantasy shit
Robert Cooper
nice, thanks bud
Lucas Cooper
Age of Wonders: Planetfall will have samey gameplay to the old titles with a modern UI and noice graphics. Just that it will be scifi fantasy and not medieval fantasy like usual. It's a complete sepperate title tho, a fresh take on the formula.
You should try out AoW 3 + Expansions first tho, if you find yourself hating that you will certainly hate Planetfall too.
Jaxson Miller
OP here. I want to thank you all for your suggestions, I have 30 game names written down in a piece of paper and I'll look into them tomorrow. Keep them coming though.
Carter Rivera
minecraft
Eli Smith
I like to build stuff with the conquest reforged mod but the rest of the game is pretty meh once you beat the dragon once. Also last update was pretty shit.
Owen Flores
Keep an eye out for planetfall then. It will be still fantasy but considerably less high fantasy and more science fiction.
Go on twitter and take some screencaps, dont forget to use the word TRANNY multiple times.
Adrian Powell
i guess that depends on how long you afk and what mmo. If you know that youll be stepping away in a minute just move yourself to a road or something similar where you are out of enemy agro range
Jacob Foster
are you sure this would work? I mean, this is a pretty fast board
Elijah Flores
Elite is max comfy just pulse waving in a planetary ring while listening to a podcast.
But I don't have a reddit account. And there are so many subreddits I wouldn't know which one is the suited for asking this. I don't want to be downvoted, user.
Hudson Scott
>I don't want to be downvoted Kill yourself zoomer
Jacob Stewart
heh get baited newfriend I see summer came early this year
my one issue with osrs is the $11/month price tag. Playing f2p sucks and it seems like trying to do it all with the 2 week passes with in game money is going to make it feel way to much like a job
Ayden Davis
once you get members its trivial to make enough money for bonds, it's basically an $11 intro pricetag for the entire time you play the game
Jordan Green
Pretty much every current AAA open world game is perfect for this, the writing is lazy garbage, so you can just blow through cutscenes. Rage 2 has been perfect for this, mindless combat, lots of driving, terrible story.
OSRS is shit and you guys only play it for the nostalgia
Angel Hernandez
i was playing iron man so that makes it way harder to make money. I guess i could pay for another money and just quit ironman. From what i heard in the osrs general though you will need to dedicate a few hours a week to making money to pay for bonds rather than just doing whatever, which makes it feel jobby
Carter Garcia
Try elder scrolls online or wow, whichever one you haven't tried yet
Logan Hill
>OSRS is shit and you guys only play it for the nostalgia i started playing it when the mobile version came out because compared to the other mobile games on the market its a masterpiece. The quests are generally pretty good and if you like that humor you will enjoy it. I can't think of a single quest that is standard mmo kill 10 rats and come back trash.
Luke Allen
>ironman why torture yourself like that, it's a damn mmo, and you can make plenty of money by just doing herb runs every once in a while, which take a few minutes
Easton Gray
Poker is boring? I guess you weren't playing with real money
Blake Peterson
I was, I don't get what people see in it. Wait to get good cards or bluff it, don't risk it if you don't have to blind bet, etc. Repetitive as fuck too.
Aaron Morales
my friend was doing it and i decided to follow suit because otherwise everything seems so meaningless. I have to say being in the wood cutting guild and seeing every other person with all their levels lower than mine have a dragon axe just because they traded on the marketplace does make that feel lame as fuck. Being able to get almost every item with minimal effort just because of money kind of robs the game of any sense of satisfaction. Getting the purple cursed armor was a significant undertaking as getting an acorn took me forever, but getting the armor felt like an actual accomplishment compared to buying the shit on marketplace
i also dont find poker interesting. But i dislike gambling as ive never had the luck for any of it and just seems like a waste of money compared to other forms of entertainment
Caleb Clark
>ive never had the luck Poker isn't luck
Jace Bennett
you can count cards but luck is still very important
Levi Diaz
>using touch pad nigger just get a mouse.
Samuel Scott
it isnt all luck but there is still luck involved. Not to mention even if you are good its not hard for someone to come along thats better and take your money. It's not a way i have any interest in spending my money
Alexander Martin
why listen to them if your not going to listen?
Tyler Torres
you're thinking of blackjack, poker more refers to games texas hold em
Carter Long
No mouse hmmmm Then maybe darkest dungeon, the crash trilogy on an emulator, any jrpg with turn based combat Metal slug maybe
Brandon Miller
I did say it was not essential. I can use a mouse too, it's just easier for travelling if I have a game that doesn't require it. But it's not a problem, I can take my GXT with me.
Bentley Thompson
Slay the spire fits all of your conditions handily. If you like the game, you'll get hours and hours out of it but you might be weak-minded and give up after ascension 5 or something
