Why do people think Banjo or Steve have a chance of being in Smash when Japan hates everything associated with western gaming?

They don't hate western games
They just look down

Japanese Nintendo fans like Rare because Rare is appealing. Their stuff that's goofy, cartoony, funny, innocent, but also has personality is popular everywhere.

>Series with no future
>Already in the game
>Deconfirmed by the developers
Thats why

Mine Craft is in it's Twilight years and Banjo hasn't been in a good game since 2000.

Wishful thinking, everyone already knows these will be the final newcomers, but that doesn’t stop people from desperately hoping that their favourite games will get some kind of representation in Smash
> Sephiroth/Sora
> Fire Emblem Rep
> Pokemon Rep
> Capcom Rep

Japan factually doesn’t care about a single western game except Call of Duty & Fifa. Whenever they make their monthly favourite game polls there is never a single western game on there.

Japanese people are funny.

I don't get your obsession with polls, is it an autism thing? You don't even really seem to understand how they work, given that you never address things like the demographic being polled, the sample size, and the limited time frame of the poll. Poll results change all the time especially on the internet, they're hardly useful unless it's for a very specific and focussed small audience.

Influence means nothing, Nips love DQ but they never acknowledge Ultima

What does it say when they’ve been doing it constantly for nearly 15 years & there has Never been more than 4 Western games on it?

This says it's specifically for Japan's Heisei Era. Why would games from other countries be there?

Undertale says hi

What does it matter? Show me when Punch-Out made their lists.

It's Time

They had a top 100 back in 2017 & Wizardry was the only western game on there

Cope, Nintendo owns Punch Out. They don’t need a reason to add it. Unlike 3rd parties

That says these magazine subscribers are aging men that have very limited exposure to games.

Purely Western popularity has historically been a reason to add a character as well. We got Ridley and Simon Belmont thanks to that.

Seething, they are almost entirely dominanted by new games. Splatoon was in the top 7

You are right but that only ever applies to Japanese characters. Konami, Capcom, Square, Sega, Namco & Tecmo are the only 3rd party companies that will ever get Smash reps

>You are right but that only ever applies to Japanese characters.
So far. You always see things as limitetations when they just haven't happened yet, that's the problem with you rulefags.

>Banjo-Kazooie
>Undertale
>Skyrim
They're in.

It’s never gonna change

Because those new games are heavily marketed at the time. If their exposure to games wasn't so limited they would have a greater variety of games. You've only managed to prove that the polling process for specific demographics is very flawed if you want to use it for general purposes.

Yeah I've heard that one a dozen times before made-up rules fag.

> Bbbut rules
Cope

Cope with what?

>Japan hates minecraft

Is that right?

Minecraft has been in the top ten in sales for years.

>7,000 people
wow it's actually fucking nothing

Wizardry is actually japanese now, and ultima is unheard of in japan.
And rightfully so honestly.
