Banjo didn't have a new game in 10 years, is not as iconic as MC, not as popular, the MS developers do not want to work on a sequel, and is only ever brought up for Smash, just like Isaac and Geno.

Banjo is my number one want who even has a semi realistic chance so if I got him, anything else I wanted would be a happy bonus and nothing could really be a disappointment. I also take no issue with MC getting in, because while I don't care about Halo and I certainly want Banjo to get in more, I feel like Smash is becoming something more than just Nintendo all stars, so seeing characters who basically represent the competition join the fight would be interesting. After all, even if they are not directly tied to Nintendo, the fact that the competition was there still holds historical significance to Nintendo. That doesn't make any sense to me though because 1. there was ZERO Minecraft content in the base game. No stage, no AT, no spirites, not even datamined files that were removed. He was wrong about that. 2. He could NOT have been thinking about DLC because nobody knew any of the DLC that far in advance and Sakurai didn't come out to say that all of the DLC had been chosen until after release. The fact that Joker wasn't even revealed with any gameplay and that it took months before we finally got him backs that up and shows they didn't even start working on them until post release. 3. Verg continuing to state "I don't know if Steve is a character or not" wouldn't make sense because if it comes with the fighter pass, he would have to be as he would be the only viable Minecraft content that COULD be playable so he would have to be the character. Making him just a stage, AT, or spirit wouldn't make sense because no other Minecraft content is a viable fighter AND there would be no reason to include him as a secondary thing if he's not directly related to the fighter he comes packaged with.

Basically, Verg's story doesn't make any sense and is full of holes so it ultimately just seems like he's wobbling back and forth on the matter to best cover his bases and defend against any outcome where Steve isn't in. He's just looking for attention and he doesn't actually know jack shit. Anything he has gotten right has either been piggybacking off of somebody else or just a straight up guess, which has been proven possible by the guy who guessed every character up through Isabelle before shitting the bed with Githitelle and Gardevoir.
