if you're a minmaxing autist like me, you're likely to take non-lethal takedowns too far and effectively rob yourself of the fun of the shooting. recommend reading a guide on who you can and can't shoot for the good ending
one of your three weapon slots is reserves for a rather boring airgun for most of the game, so you're stuck with two slots and i can almost guarantee you'll take the shotgun and an assault rifle
all in all it's a good game, go pirate it

The AI got stupider, the Artyom voice actor of og Metro 2033 sounded less like an random guy impersonating a Russian (subjective, some prefer nu Artyom), visual changes made the darks less dark, reduced particle effects.

Now, if you go full retard on Metro2033 settings, you get pretty incredible sights. But it can be a system choker even on relatively modern builds. High end wont be a problem though. The Redux has some quality of life improvements introduced in Last Light, but the AI is less aggressive and less able to notice you. Ranger Hardcore on og Metro 2033 is very difficult with early stealth, and even late game breaking stealth is very easy. Enemies often have headlamps and you have to pay a lot of attention to glass shards on the ground, whereas they are much more easy to see in redux.

Both are fine games, but the OG holds up really well. In either case, combat is fairly weighty. Damage is increased on higher difficulty, so you can die easy, but enemies generally arent bullet sponges. You can actually shoot gear off them too, which is nice

I understood that in the treeniggers mission you shouldn't kill the villagers because they're just scared, same with the churchniggers but for all I know, some of the people I killed WERE slaves but I at least avoided the ones who were talking like retards.
