Switch version is actually really neat. Looks great, and runs nicely too. PC version is obviously still the best, but the Switch version is pretty nice.

you need to get wood from shipwrecks which is honestly really fun. it forces you to ration your materials.

with mods, everything is possible
i think optifine lets you do that, but there are other mods for visuals too, like realistic-ish textures or raytraced lighting.

Better than you'd think. It's the same as all bedrock versions (which is more or less vanilla java but with no offhands)
Controller obviously isn't as good as m/kb but it's surprisingly good. I usually don't like using controllers on games like this but it works pretty well.

the one with a big button and an update notes window in the middle? none that i know of. but multiMC does allow multiple instances with different version each, also ez mods

if that window is on a cliff straight up remove it and have a railing if you want but let that open air in since there isnt exactly wind in minecraft

MultiMC is the best one. you can have more than one instance of minecraft at a time. want to play 1.7.10 modded? make an instance. want to try out 1.14 without fucking up your modded 1.7.10? make another instance. Want to play on a modded 1.12 server? make another instance. want to load in a modpack quick and easy? import an instance.
