Joker is the fixed protagonist, and only if you play on Risky he can't be removed from the party and it's game over if he dies.

The appeal is to see the characters cross over and interact, except none of them really interact at fucking all, they just spout canned lines into the air at random intervals.

He's still the protagonist on every difficulty, that's why. You just have the option to swap him out (or revive him) on the easy modes.

How do you obtain persona's without fusing? it seems random reward I'm missing like 4 lowest level personas do I just go back to first floor and try to get them?

You have to backwards fuse some of the lowest level personae I believe. Two same arcana cards should result in a lower level persona of that arcana.

It's because his stats are evenly distributed and his main stat is LUK, same as Teddie. Other characters that are more specialized hit their stat caps before max level. Also both of their HP is ridiculously low. Compare them to Naoto who has literally twice the HP as a LUK caster.

Gee I wonder what this game plays like.

Note how he also has one of the lowest HP totals, only slightly above average MP, his offenses are both mediocre, and his best stats are Spd and fucking (((Luk))).
His best stat comparisons are Akechi+FEMC (Ken is slightly less durable), Morgana (Ken is slightly more durable), Naoto (No End but 5th best HP??), Mitsuru (No End but better in both attacks), Makoto (a loooooot slower, otherwise pretty similar to Mitsuru), Koromaru+Aigis (World of STR, but their Mag are both as good/better than Ken's, with Aigis being built for End whereas Koro is more balanced).

If you look, most of the characters with high stats have either one of really high luck, but low/average everything else, or low hp/sp values, and vice versa. Luck seems to not be "weighed" as heavily as other stats.

Also, minmaxing, Kanji and Shinji have a shit stat total, but their points are perfectly placed to make them really, really good at a particular role.
Aside, does it trigger anyone else that nobody naturally caps anything but Str and End?

I played the JP version on Risky, and had to grind up 10 extra levels to get access to Media, because he was just putting out way too much AoE (and focused) damage for me to keep up with just single target heals.
You probably don't need to grind out AS much on lower difficulties though.

That's how the progression usually goes. You beat the FOEs before the stratum boss to get the best possible equipment from their drops, before you challenge the boss.

No it isn't. Normal progression is "ok you can beat the FOE, that proves you're ready for the boss"
This fucking game doesn't follow that. You don't get any better equipment in the 1st dungeon, you don't get access to better items, and the boss hits much harder than every FOE combined
It's an unbalanced mess and forces grinding.
