Tsu on snes, fever 2 on ps2, and 15th anniversary on ds are great. 20th anniversary is nice too but some of the game modes are bullshit. If you want my opinion, play the main games in order on these systems.

1- anything that's in color
tsu- saturn for content and music, snes for convenience and english
sun- pc
~n- whatever, since there's no english patch
fever- whatever but most people recommend ds
fever 2- ps2
15th anniversary- ds
7- ds
20th anniversary- whatever, no english. 3ds version has online but it's mostly empty

Actually, the DS version got an English translation recently. I'd still rather play the 3DS version thanks to the improved animations, though.

15th had Water Puyo, user. The bullshit gamemodes in 20th are X-Spinner and Slots.

puyo puyo 4 is infamous for being a lot slower paced than the other games. Literally, the puyos drop at a glacial pace.

Puyo~n is really, really fucking slow. It sold like shit and basically killed Compile (among other things) because it was really high-budget as far as Puyo goes and incredibly polished, but also really, really fucking SLOW, so nobody bought it.

It's interesting if kept separate from both Puyo and the rest of Madou, but everything in it is just way too jarring in the context of the rest of both series in my opinion. Especially going into Final Test from the previous games.

I don't think that's a thing anymore, sonic team doesn't look like they care about the older puyo games or their story. Even then, are the Primp and Suzuran universes separated from the Compile universe? Did Satan create those too? Is Ecolo stronger than Satan? Will SEGA ever even address this stuff in future games? Does all of this even matter?

Sonic Team gives literally zero fucks about lore. All that seems to matter to them is the 24 character limit that prevents popular characters from returning.

True, and 20th also introduced the plotline of Amitie's hat being alive or something iirc (which got referenced in Puyo Tetris in the Japanese version). My wording was poor, what I should've typed was that we never got another game on Fever 2's level.

I love how you can tell how long 20th was in development because of Shoko Ninomiya's tweet with Black Sig concept art showing that they were originally going to use the Fever 2/15th artstyle, which would have made that stupid fucking hat thing actually make sense.

I didn't know about that, makes me a little sad about what could have been. Though 20th is still an amazing game with fun character interactions.
