i always wanted to eat that arrow
What?
Why?
I don't know about hungry but I do love the weird metallic look the items had. I really wish we had more n64 zelda games. Love their aesthetics the most.
N64 items are so comfy, I always wanted real life versions of those and the jiggies from Banjo Kazooie.
Minecraft bread
What do Magic Beans taste like with all those colorful pods?
Why is everything in OOT so shiny?
It could still be done if we went back to using art styles instead of scanning in actors and making literal real life places.
The rainbow bridge
A majority of games still do. It's really only a small percentage of releases that use scanned in actors, maybe you should stop having such a complex about it.
None of them have n64 reflections tho
Sometimes I wish we never left the n64/ps1/dreamcast graphical era
Well its still possible. I'm working on one now
I've always wanted to figure out how to recreate some older video game effects like N64 "metallic" effects. The PS1 shader pack for Unity has that fucking god-tier fadeout effect, but I haven't seen anyone try to recreate the reflection stuff.
youtu.be
nigger look at the channel for the video you just posted, there's literally an update video for that very shader pack that adds that
Its easy, just use something like this as the cubemap and don't use any textures on the material
You know something? This has been the ONLY improvement in the remake.
I have a complex for not liking real life graphic style games?
But OoT 3D is a fantastic remake. MM3D is the debatable one.
Nah, the entire atmosphere feels different because of the lighting/textures and the aspect ratio/resolution are shit to fit the 3DS.
Oh i'm gaggin. Looks like complete shit imo.
No, MM3D is just worse. They knew nothing about the game they were working on and why it was good.

Nah.
Those 3 glittery milk containers in the back looked really tasty. They remind me of milky pens

Did Starbucks take over?
What is that?
yah nevermind the added details and comfy torch lighting
>realistic render that supports the man's appearance and is pleasant to look at overall
>vs some mismatched, yellow tinted, uninspired clusterfuck
I said in an unrelated thread the other day that these looked tasty and some user called me a goron
>hyrule's back alley crack den with everything that hasn't been nailed down stolen
>vs an actual, thriving bazaar worthy of the name
Delicious jello spiritual stones
The big red gem in the Aladdin game also looked tasty
I was jk anyways. I just wanted to tell someone to kill themselves. :^) I do like the change.
Not really on topic but DK's treehouse in that game is the comfiest thing ever. I wish more 5th gen games put emphasis on pointless details/visuals.
I know technically it's better. But the emptiness was really cool for some reason. I donno, maybe it's nostalgia but I still think the original looked better. It looked like a poor self ran store or something.
> possibly mistranslated semantics are worth more than a weak atmosphere
Because Gorons eat those, remember? He should've called you a MORON instead.
i want to fuck Zora's Sapphire
>i can put words in other people's mouths to prove im right!
nobody fucking said that you dweeb. I think anyone with good tase can agree the general aesthetic of the N64 games are god tier. Complaining the 3DS remake is bad because textures are brighter is fucking stupid. ESPECIALLY when you compare it to the abomination of MM3DS.
>Lighting changes ruining percieved mood
or
>literal gameplay changes that actively ruin a lot of the feel and charm of the original.
I can deal with a brighter atmosphere if that means i still get to essentially play the same god tier game with better looking models
Doesn't make sense for the biggest store in the center of Castle Town to be poor and empty. Even in the original they tried to create the illusion that this was a bustling market with all the low poly people that are outside in the square.
>possibly mistranslated semantics
The sign over the shop actually says "General Store" in Hylian which is based off of Kana. So "Bazaar" might be a mistranslation but the fact that this is supposed the main general store of Hyrule Castle Town and not a crack den is not.
Nobody knows

lol read my other comment idiot. I said I was joking and just wanted to tell someone to kill themselves.
>the fact that this is supposed the main general store of Hyrule Castle Town and not a crack den
You're missing the point, it's still just semantics. The atmosphere is weaker and less consistent in the 3DS version where the original was better presented with the lighting/textures and actually fit being the same place that has stray dogs running wild at night and people dying in back alley corners. Seriously, what the fuck made you think Castle Town was a good place?
pretending to be retarded is still being retarded user
>The atmosphere is weaker and less consistent in the 3DS version where the original was better presented with the lighting/textures
This is an opinion. I would argue that the atmosphere is stronger in the 3DS version because it depicts a warmly lit, well-stocked store with eye catching posters advertising its products and the prices clearly labelled on a chalk board.
>people dying in back alley corners.
You act like that's a regular occurrence, that only happened because of Ganondorf. Castle Town is normally a very safe place and there's no indication of anything against that fact. It is a walled town surrounded by a moat that raises the drawn bridge as soon as nightfall happens and has guards stationed near the draw bridge and at the back exit at all times.
>stray dogs running wild at night
This is the only weird occurrence but it's not like the stray dogs are hurting anything by being around. People don't seem to mind them because there's still stray dogs running around hundreds of years later in TP.
>what the fuck made you think Castle Town was a good place?
Literally everything the game presents to you. The happy music, people freely dancing in the streets and buying from shops, there being a fucking bowling alley and a shooting gallery and a happy mask shop. Getting the impression that it was a dangerous place is the exact opposite impression it's supposed to give you. Otherwise, the town being destroyed in the future is meaningless.
>This is an opinion.
No shit, there's more contrast in the original, while the remake is dimly lit throughout, so the original looks better. It's that simple.
Something about low-poly crystals makes it look like the tastiest rock candy imaginable. I won't lie, I'd lick those things if they existed.
I wanted some of Yeto's soup. I didn't even care that there were fish heads in it.
Same with Grandma's soup. And the Lumpy Pumpkin's pumpkin soup. Zelda needs to stop having delicious looking soups.

Why the fuck did the author of that gif not make a proper loop? It's just another 2 seconds, this is triggering my autism.
