not most comfy
>no natural light
>no views
>no gorgeous exterior
they feel safest maybe.
I think what's better are nice basements, secret rooms / secret basements, and otherwise:
on the water (lake or ocean, lake is best though)
halfway submerged next to the water
in the middle of the mountains so the mountains are encircling you but you have comfy flat ground to farm on
This
Build your underground house next to a cave system so you can place windows looking out into the vast caverns. I usually spruce it up a bit and make underground lakes and waterfalls
hco
yes
I prefer homes in ocean but annoying to drain water
"we"?
Cave house are better
>no views
>no gorgeous exterior
>needing to show off instead of having his inconspicuous secret base
What a fag
Small underground bases like this with stone interior are comfy as hell. I make a few of them all around the place and use them as temporary shelter.
As for underground houses they are pretty pleb teir.
how are they pleb
I usually build mine in the side of a mountain or I'll make an island in the ocean and build a house there.
Wurm house is better
This is what I do
>not defensible, you cower inside them
>no natural sources of light
>underground farming
>underground everything
I do standard house on top with secret rooms underground for the more precious stuff that I don't want blown up by creepers
I'm running a recent FTB modpack and I have a giant wooden platform in the air that's supposed to be my new base. Anyone have any ideas as to the general aesthetic, what I should put on it?
based
these are patrician houses
>>no natural light
Fuck natural light
Usually do a smooth Sandstone house that’s on the ocean and then goes down with glass walls on the sides. Such a pain to actually make though
who cares about natural light when I do my own
what house should I do? decided to start a new world
I like to build a small cozy house that pretty much just has my bed in it and then a massive underground complex underneath for everything else.
Back when 1.8 beta first came out with the new terrain generation a group of friends got on a server and we carved out a big house in the side of a mountain. Watching the sunset and sunrise from that high up while overlooking the garden and wheat farm we had at the bottom was something else.
That was probably the only cool part about the 1.8 beta update.
muh nigga
Brown brick houses are the most comfy
if you dont intentionally design your house with a large open window facing either the sunrise or the sunset you're a fucking plebian
>no natural sources of light
>this is somehow a problem in a game with eternal torches
Make an airship.
>these fags
>with a large open window facing either the sunrise or the sunset
Are you a girl or a faggot?
>sunset
u a fag?
So literally zero flaws? Got it.
I see no drawbacks
Patrician. I like having one window face the sunrise and one facing the sunset
Tower like structure on top of a mountain and with a part of the structure coming out of the mountains cliff
>show basic creativity and thought process beyond an autistic utilitarian dirt house
>"uh your gay and like penises lol'
Yea Forums
>altering the surface terrain whatsoever outside of digging an entrance to your underground fort
no
>basic creativity
>big window overlooking the sunset
If that counts as creativity shit's fucked.
>build little tiny cottage in the middle of some empty plains
>small one-room house with a bed, crafting table, furnace and trapdoor
>trapdoor opens down to wide spiraling stone staircase reaching down to bedrock
>opens up to massive underground city
>large tracts of farm lands and every type of neutral mob put in various ranches
>villagers trapped in marketplaces and houses for their own good so they can't wander
>numerous iron golems patrolling the well-lit streets
I always build downward.
>wanting mobs to spawn on top of mountains and funnel down towards you
Do you wish to cower in the dirt like a worm or tower above it as a king?
Worms are plenty and vocal but kings dont heed the words of worms
i honestly don't know whether to respond as if you're acting intentionally retarded as some obtuse troll attempt or if this is just the way you are
Building a house in a cave on top of a mountain is the best
>Build very well hidden huge underground base with the entrance on the bottom of a lake
>Literally impossible to find unless you know exactly where to look
>Also play singleplayer only
Why am I like this, nobody will find my shit ever anyway
I put signs up in singleplayer giving directions or labeling rooms like anyone is going to give a shit but me
thanks user, you make me feel comfy
>not a manmade flying island with a very small but cozy wooden house that leads to comfy underground tunnels and a great view of the area below you
>nobody will find my shit ever anyway
but what if they do user? Better move the entrance every once and a while to make it harder for them to find.
>Why am I like this, nobody will find my shit ever anyway
this sucks, minecraft should have a mode where you could sync up with another player's world and find their stuff
Not so much underground as built into the side of a mountain, but the idea is the same, yes.
the patricians choice is a sky base utilizing reinforced steel, red dust combination locks secured nether portals for ground access
Nah mate he's right you're gay as fuck, any real man would think in practicalities, and waking up because the sun is right in your fucking face because you have a useless huge ass window letting the cold in is fucking retarded.
Creative my ass.
same. Signs, railways, ways to get in and around the creations via walking.
Pointless but we all enjoy it
>tfw I lost the data for my first MP map with my brother and two friends from 2010
We built this underground dungeon thing and I excavated a underground lake by hand with stone pickaxes and then built a ship into it like that one cave in Oblivion, except I made the cave high enough for the mast and everything. The ship looked ready to sail if it hadn't been stuck 200 meters underground.
Fuck I miss those comfy times
It's minecraft you fucking faggot
>muh masculinity in a Lego game
Top kek

I like to join random servers and choose a direction and just fuck off far into the distance where its unlikely anyone has ever been or ever will be and build houses and towns and shit, even if most likely no one will ever find it to appreciate I like to think eventually some of them are stumbled upon and someone gets to explore them or at least a fleeting moment of entertainment at the thought that even way out here in nowhere they've found life as they continue on their way, maybe wondering who, when, or why
>Starts fagging off about creativity and his huge window fetish
>Gets utterly BTFO for his faggy shite
>"Hurrr durrr it's just minecraft lmao I was only pretending to be gay lol"
user... sometimes it's best to stop posting rather than making an even bigger ass of yourself, you dumb fuck.
I haven't played since 1.7.2, is the new stuff worth it?
Mountain-top houses are, with the mountain hollowed out and a backdoor hidden at the foot of the mountain
...
His point was that every man, woman and child wants large windowfronts in their bedroom now, it's not creative at all
It looks great, I want it as well, but it's not creative.
>any real man
>2 second dirt houses are MANLY and PRACTICAL
>>>hurr what are fucking curtains
so this is just the way you are then? I'm sorry
You're just a bit of a fag because worldgen on servers, particularly small-host and modded ones, is extremely intensive.
holy shit that sounds amazing but a pain in the ass
Minecraft threads are always a treasure trove of autism
I myself prefer massive houses dug into the sides of mountains with a nice open view of the forest below, but you are clearly a quality person
Not even the same guy. If you honestly think watching a sunset somehow demeans your masculinity you have more problems than building manly projects on minecraft.
there really do be niggas out here that don't build hobbit holes
Just tell me, user. How is the most basic thing ever creative?
Vanilla? No.
Go play some good modpacks, though. Start with FTB Revelations, shit's a good Kitchen Sink pack. after that, figure out what mods in it you're enjoying most and look for other packs that use those.
On a related note, Astral Sorcery is so fucking good but holy shit WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO ADD SOMETHING WITH THOSE BROKEN PORTALS
*watches gurren lagann once*
this
I prefer in mountainside, though I guess that's a variant.
Also lava lamps > other light sources

damn this shit's legit
you can do that for any house

You're joking right?
It's the biggest pleb anime of all time
Treehouses are maximum comfy and I will fight you on that
Most anime is pleb tier desu
BUT IT'S NOT MANLY
MANLY MEN WHO PLAY MINECRAFT DON'T PROGRESS BEYOND DIRT HUTS
very true
mountain/cliffside houses are superior in every way
>even easier to carve out space than a regular underground base
>can put glass in the stone wall to have a nice view
>exits on either the base and/or top
>can expand outwards
>able to put waterfalls on it
>overall the ease of building of an underground house with the aesthetic potential of an above ground house
Truly the second most kino type of house next to floating island bases
>brother builds comfy treehouse fort made from a giant tree, using leaves and actual logs as part of structure
>creeper explodes base of tree one day
>entire house falls to shambles
you misunderstand, i dont mean you meeting the other player.
just finding what they built.
I appreciate you user
Only works if you play the twilight forest mod
>not building house on the top side of the mountain for Max comfy beauty but also advantage of cave rooms
Noice
Caves under water are pretty good, houses built into the sides of cliff faces are great aswell.
Snow biomes > rest
Nobody said anything about dirt huts, caves are where it's at
It's Minecraft, not citybuilder
>Server has automatic system for selling and renting areas to other players
>Build big cozy hotel in snow biome
>Enough rooms to fit about 80 different players
>People actually use it
>Log on everyday to collect rent and see how tenants are customizing and building their rooms
are mods easy to install now? i remember trying to install mods after the beta phase became really annoying
I used to do this thing where you'd enter from some vague looking entrance, and have it lead to the house, which I've built into the side of a high cliff
it's super easy
>spent forever trying to find comfy snow biome

sounds really comfy, user. i have super fond memories of that home in oblivion too
>Not building the exterior of your base with obsidian to protect against creepers
Why yes, I make my homes underground and as small and hard to find as possible. How did you know?
>not being a moleman and living entirely underground
>not digging into other people's basements so you don't need to farm to sustain yourself or procure equipment/other goods
ITT
This looks promising
underground based
you not based
That's too bulky, doesn't maintain the integrity and shape of the mountain.
That's kinda what they're aiming for with Minecraft Earth, no?
Fuck you moot
Wrong. Elevated shacks in the middle of a lake are comfiest.

also I personally like pit-houses
River valley homes are the best, especially next to natural mountains.

it hurts, bros...
this guy gets it
every one here is shit
Ur mom is shit LOL
I haven't played in a longass time since I ran out of shit to do, but this thread has got me itching to add onto my little underground home
No, I'm not a hobbit or a dwarf. Setting up an entrance like OP's pic means mobs can walk down the stairs to the entrance tunnel, and you can't really interact with the environment in the same way as an outdoor home. I like being able to create a house with a jetty, or a defended structure that guards a bridge to my home island. Underground houses are quicker for your first night but they end up very samey.
>not hollowing out mountains and making them into volcanoes so you can have a volcano lair
yikes
>Not aggressively terraforming the outside of your house
If i want an underwater house in the middle of the desert, I shall have it
You have natural lava tubes tho
>get picture of building in my mine
>lots of details and a straightforward plan
>can't realize it ingame
>ends up being a shitty square
What the fuck do I do bros? Am I retarded?
lol I built this same base on a mp server
How do I go about creating an underwater home with glowstone and glass? I want to make something like Rapture but water always ends up flowing unevenly.
>want to use texture pack
>mods include extra blocks that clash hard with the style
Any servers up? Really itching to play but single player is boring as fuck because of Mojang's ineptitude.

which is better wood interior or stone slab interior
ip?
I usually build in the side of a cliff over water.

wood with stone trim
my underground base
wood, stone slab is better for exterior/ornamental uses
low tier base, not very homely

Glass doesn't insulate heat well, that room will either be constantly freezing or you'll be wasting tons of money on heating.

very funny
whats the IP?
192.168.1.1
find someone who does build tutorials where they actually explain why they do things and ideally builds in a style you like. also I hope you're testing your builds in creative before you make them in survival. I'm a fan of doing that and then using schematica to make the survival build easier
years ago I watched jamziboy who had a nice cozy medieval aesthetic, built in an easy to modify modular design, and explained why he did things well iirc. if you like the look of his stuff then me from 6 years ago can recommend his videos
You just don't appreciate intricate builds
just got back into the game and have only been digging exploring caves and shit. is there a way to move a bunch of chests far away to relocate or do i have to make a bunch of trips
is this the halo control room?
someone just post a server, please.
You can set up a rail system and transport them in train chests.
Double pane glass would insulate it fine enough,
There's different mods for that task but for vanilla, no. You could build ender chests
Bridge house is nice
What texture pack is that?
yeah never got to finish it because nigger owner of server booted me and reset the map
t.Boomer
Material sciences have come a long way since then
anyone got some decent 1.14 seeds?
been generating worlds left and right looking for a decent starting point but i've got nothing but garbage birch forrest/taiga biomes left and right.
I heard mountains are much more rare ever since an update, is that true? Something about mostly flat terrain being favored over dramatic landscapes like ravines and mountain ranges
Now you can crawl in 1x1 tunels
Stone brick
i'l post when i get home
>not making a floating base above land

sounds fun
Have you actually lived in a house with triple glazed windows? They cause the rooms to have completely stagnant air and the pressure fucks up your ears.
Mesa villa
>drowned make beachfront properties go from comfy to aggravating as fuck
Who thought those retards were a good idea? Who thought giving them tridents was a good idea too?
really depends on the biome, plains and savanna have a good chance to have ravines.
llama caravan
>Living in such a shitty home that your air never stagnates with windows closes
>Air pressure somehow builds up
Fucking what. Are you living on a cargo boat?
I'm so boring when I do house design
thanks user, I'll look into it
was one of the safest ways to build before phantoms. fences along the perimeter to block arrows, keep it lit and nothing can get up there to harass you. but now with phantoms you are generally closest to them so you are the first one to fight the fuckers.
Bumping so I can post a webm of my house (^:
>find massive forest biome
>want to clear it fast
>brilliant idea!
>make a fire break (chop down a few trees and trim leaves on the outskirts of the area I want to clear)
>flint and tinder to burn down the trees inside of the fire break, nice and easy
>spreads faster and farther than I intended
>entire biome is on fire, frame rate starts to drop
>vietnam flash backs
>i wasn't even in nam
>It Ain't Me.MP3 intensifies
Wat to build next, any ideas

This reminds me of No man's dwarf in Dark Souls 2
John Smith Legacy
Oh yeah, only way I can really keep my head straight. I do pillars of light every draw distance -10 blocks, and build them as I explore. Just 8 or 10 blocks high lined with torches on all 4 sides on whatever the highest land is in that immediate area. At the base will be signs or stone arrows pointing back to my home base. Also mark items of interest on the land with smaller pillars, stuff like cave systems that I blocked off for later exploration, mine shafts, etc. I always get worried that I'll lose my way and get gang raped when trying to get to a safe house.
>design underground dorf fort around the concept that natural stone cannot be made into stairs, only cobble can
>entire aesthetic has emerged painfully but perfectly out of such limitations
>mfw each patch keeps adding new stone blocks and letting natural stone be shaped into stairs and shit like cobble can
dis :DDDD
wish I was autistic enough to try and make this
can't do it justice so I won't build it.
fug :DDD
Builderfag here, if that is the case it's due to the house being too tight. My guess is that its was either built in the 90's or it was renovated in the 90's. Code for most buildings at that time went way overboard with shit like tyvek wrap on the outside of houses and vinyl siding, so that houses didn't breathe at all. Air stayed trapped inside, which is extremely conducive to mold growing. This fucked with peoples allergies and is referred to as "sick house syndrome". It's also the reason why vinyl siding back in the day got a bad rap. It bakes in the sun, and since the house can't breathe any moisture that is behind the tyvek wrap will just swelter there and rot out the sheathing on the house.
The main hall of my old school has something like this
Here's my base
>need to do shit
>I'll play for just an hour
>play for 3 or 4
Also why the fuck is the image filesize limit 4MiB but for webms it's 3?
>on HC too
that's fucking rad.
Post the inside too!
Oui
meow
>underground houses are the most comfy
No, mountain homes are.
>I prefer homes in ocean but annoying to drain water
There are easy ways of making houses far, far underwater, and it really just requires a lot of digging, not draining. You just have to find the right spot and plan it out well.
holy shit that looks good
who /BioShock/ houses
>base of the mountain lush and green
>build a tower at the top, gets covered in snow
I'm really feeling it!
Spaceship style. Build in the sky only way to get up is through water or scaffolding.
You can't do something like this on single player I imagine. It'll take way too much time.
Why does every house have to have to be wood planks+giant glass panes? Post something more imaginative.
this
Good taste
y

damn user you sure are wise and epicpilled with your patrician taste, please lecture me on why lain and texhnolyze are the greatest things ever made
>played on a server for a few weeks and built an underground base
>eventually get bored and stop logging back in
>end up coming back about a month or so later and someone left a sign in one of the rooms saying "really cool house"
It was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for me
Wood with glass panes but also slate.
>You can't do something like this on single player I imagine. It'll take way too much time.
Took a month and a half of on and off play overall. I did it on a friend's server, but I did it mostly solo. Had someone help with the digging, but that only took like 3 days. It went super fast if you use an enchanted pickaxe combined with the range of the beacon. That combo insta-destroyed all stone in front of us the moment we pressed the mouse button down. Dunno if they nerfed that since I last played though.
...
>that window size
>normal panel of glass: 50$
>triple pane: 10000$, will crack during one unfortunate day when the temperature has a sudden change for whatever reason
>triple pane, reinforced: 20000$
You're far better off heating up a cold room all winter with wood pellets. Triple pane is a meme at best and a scam at worst. A single panel can be glazed and treated with a thin layer of insulating material, which does a lot for glass, while heating efficiency depends on completely different factors, like the amount of airflow.
wow that's beautiful
Pretty comfy user
>will crack during one unfortunate day when the temperature has a sudden change for whatever reason
Literally never happens.
>Environmental footprint rivals 500 first-world nations
>tfw an /mcg/ server a few months back installed a pollution mod
>within two weeks there was so much sulfur and CO2 in the air half of the grass died instantly and certain chunks asphyxiated you just by being in them
Feels weird having played long enough to recognize most of what the mod jokes are referencing.
They feel most safe like said.
Personally though I just want to make an ambitious underwater house with a giant glass wall protecting it.
Nice, so it is possible then.I might have to get in on that enchantment beacon train.
hold on let me just get some wood first
Quick question guys!
I'm on version 1.14.1, if I downgrade to 1.14 (for optifine) will it break anything?
You'll enjoy the worst chunk loading in existence, just be patient and wait for optifine to update
Very likely.1.14 is a shitty build I wouldn't recommend downgrading to it even for optifine.
I once did something like that, dug out around a stronghold using a beacon buff radius as a perimeter so I was left with a floaty underground stronghold. Didn't open the ceiling or let sunlight in tho.
Thanks, it really felt worth the effort when I invited people from the server over. No one seemed to initially realize you can't actually make it to the front door unless you used enchanted items, since the swim to bedrock is so long. They'd eventually make it, but not until they died at least once.
...
This. House near a lake, with a large open field is where kino is at.
I think everyone built one of these sometime during their career
I haven't played this game in many many years, but I remember the one thing I loved the most was exploring new biomes.
Are there any modpacks which just give a ton of shit to explore? Maybe user created stuff instead of procgen so there is something to it. Maybe with some light story? Does such a thing exist you could point me to?
Biomes a plenty doesn't have light story or user created stuff but it had a plethora of awesome biomes like redwood forests and poison swamps. You can combine it with other mods like Thaumcraft and twilight forest.
>join multiplayer
>play completely alone anyway
What's the fucking point?
Better to build glass domes so you have better views.
Based
Are there any simple modpacks with it all in there?
I remember FTB being a thing, are they still?
Man I feel like getting Minecraft for my switch for comfy bed building. Is it worth it
Whats the point of playing single player? I enjoy the thought of someone maybe stumbling upon the abandoned structures I leave behind months or years down the line, and this way the shit I build might benefit someone or provide a sense of wonder or fun for whoever finds it rather than just rotting uselessly on a single player map on my PC
If I build in the regular towns build up next to main spawn like people generally do normally, its all mundane, no one cares or benefits from it. It's more interesting for all to find things while out exploring
>FTB packs will never get raytracing.
This is fuckin sick
Anything that adds more ocean monsters? I'm not looking for anything subnautica levels just something that makes me feel a bit spooked about swimming in the ocean not that I'm not spooked already
Also any simple magic mods? Early thaumcraft seems right up my alley but I prefer playing on version 12 right now.
A real ma
no mods or optimization, stick with java
Now that's some old guide.

>whole island covered in a bunch of ugly torches like fleas
Truthfully I'm not sure but I'd be surprised if there wasnt
What am I missing, it's just a hollowed out rock
What else are you supposed to do against monsters in hardcore?
Use the mod that makes monsters only spawn at 0 light level.
Castle on top of the big one, beacon on the small one.
god damn that's cool. good work user
>just play ez mode hardcore mode dude!
>dude i love putting ugly ass torches literally fucking everywhere!!
>An actual Minecraft thread where there's barely any shitposting and everyone's having fun and discussing the game
I never thought I'd see the day again. You guys are the best. This little Minecraft resurgence is great.
old Yea Forums used to shit on minecraft, what happened
Fuck you
Have a good night, user
It's all empty for now, trying to figure out where to expand and how to set up a base.
Yea I think I'll do that.
Shit b8 desu
Here's the seed and coordinates if anyone wants it, it's with amplified world gen.

Yea Forums is where Minecraft first took off you stupid animefaggot.

When it was still in it's beta stages it was still relatively unknown and was a favorite on Yea Forums for a long time, of course not everyone has to be a contrarian and pretend that minecraft was never a comfy game because muh e celebs
I miss the days before mobs when you could just explore and create endlessly or play TNT wars/ survive the lava with friends. Good fucking times
What the fuck why aren't you building on those sweet ass spires in the distance?
For me it’s
>underwater homes
>tower homes (lighthouse bros report in)
>bridge homes
>floating sphere homes
I like this island, plus there's a water temple nearby.
>this is your brain on mods
dropping in on notch / early alpha threads feels like yesterday time fucking flies
>air conditioning

To each their own, thank you for the seed though I'll be checking that out later.
I like treehouses since my dad never built one for me when I was a kid
I finally explored the woodland mansion for the first time and wow, what a waste of time that was, only redeeming factor is turning it into your base
>dad promises brother and I a treehouse for years
>never happens, grow up
>anytime he gets at one of us for fucking up we bring up the treehouse that could have been
It's lighthearted, though. Jokes all around.
It is. It still works though. I only started playing again recently so I was very happy to find out underwater biomes are a thing now.
Also, I recently raided and overtook a Woodland Mansion with the intention of changing it and expanding it, but no matter how much I seem to light the place, monsters keep spawning here and there. Do they always spawn inside mansions no matter the lightning, or are there pocket rooms behind walls and such that are fucking me over?

I'm not good at building stuff. It looks fun and rewarding but the way I approach it mentally doesn't seem like the best fit.
>not building your house in the side of a mountain and expanding downward and creating a massive complex inside and far beneath the mountain
friend and i did this back in 2013 and it was the greatest base ive ever had to this day
PiroPito is the only accepted lets play minecraft series to watch
Old and pretty shitty by todays standards even with all the modded bells and whistles. Still, I had a lot of fun with it. I was thinking about maybe making a new version of this, it'd probably look better now but i'd also lose all of the modded stuff which would mean I wouldn't have cool shelves or tables and etc anymore.
No
You see, the best houses are small on the outside, so you get a comfy and small room, but then you open a trapdoor and bam, you found the sex dungeon full of chests and cobblestone generators and shit!
watching him has made me realize how much the game relies on the wiki or word of mouth for you to figure out things, like how the hell are you supposed to know how to build a nether portal the shape it is or lots of other basic shit it took him lots of episodes to figure out. they should definitely implement a better hint system
I always make a house, look out on the world and think of all the adventures I could have.
But I have nobody to go on adventures with, and the world is just repetitive and boring.
How are your handmade villages coming along?
>build a box
>slap some windows on it
>build another box on top as second floor and put chests there when you run out of space
Perfection.
>not having a floating sky platform with a water elevator down to your mine

Are you a fuckin brainlet? Minecraft is literally a children's game and you can't figure out basic shit. Lmaoing @ ur life.
Same.
>start new world

>build a house
>look around the same 100 square blocks for a cave entrance
>find diamond
>world is over
I don't ever see a reason to explore since all my shit is right here.
I remember talk of them wanting to use the paintings to be hints for players, but I guess it never came to fruition. Only the Wither painting provides a hint on what to do.
Nah, Minecraft, and a bunch of other early access survival games, doesn’t actually teach you anything. Everything is super un-intuitive and assumes you plan to play with a wiki open. There is no way you can figure out breeding is possible or how to craft a hoe without blind experimentation or luck.
>try minecraft a few years ago
>seems boring because there wasnt much to do in vanilla
>autist friend makes a huge modpack with a shitload of mods
>spend hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing that one pack, thousands from all the other modpacks
>to this day we make new modpacks every once in a while and waste hundreds of hours more in them
feels good coming back to it every once in a while but fuck vanilla is boring as shit
There is a hints system they're called achievements you fucking moron
recommend modpack. never used one.
I'm talking about a Japanese minecraft dude that couldn't figure out basic shit in the game because he chose to play blind without guides, it was fun to watch but also highlighted like I said how important it is that you need to look up stuff is which is a flaw in the game design in my opinion
How comfy is Minecraft in VR?
Lodge-style building are the toppest of top comfy and if you think otherwise then put those fucking dukes up because I'm about to beat your ass
>doesn't understand what the user wrote
>calls him a brainlet
kek
I wish it wasn't such a fucking hassle to build on amplified worlds.
Which still doesn’t actually explain shit and immediately goes back to “blind experimentation” for doing almost everything. There is pretty much no way to figure out how to build a nether portal and activate it based off in game information.
It doesn’t even tell you to use obsidian.
The only good genre of anime is CGDCT, prove me wrong.
Protip:You can't
It does work but I think there are far better methods nowadays and for those mansions killing the evoker should do the trick I think.

Looking at cute girls and watching cute girls do fucking nothing for 4 hours arent the same.
Tranny.
Mountain homes are my favorite. Just carving into the side of a mountain or building in a cave, half natural, half man made. Shit's fun.
Wheres the fucking difference user
wtf I'm trying to join but it just keeps connecting forever
Anyone got the "Oink Oink my lord" version of this? I am 100% sure that was a real thing.
I one time build a giant staircase up a mountain then hollowed most of it out and added a window around an entire side of it and made it into a palace. Was comfy as hell.
Made another house that looked extremely simple on the surface but I had a well that had a secret entrance into this squared out underground cave that I turned into an ecosystem with a lake and streamflowing through it and trees/mushrooms and grass. Was really comfy, but I did edit the game to do that one because there was no way I'd mine that thing out.

bottom left panel is stupid, just place down a door underwater and open it.
instant airpocket wherever you want.
if there's a wall nearby you can place torches to get a quick temporary air pocket too.
That image is like 8 years old I don't know if the door tricked used to work back then.
>thread got me nostalgic, start a new seed
>decent starting area, lots of animals and trees nearby so food and wood aren't an issue
>do my usual of wood tools to stone tools, and get a stack of wood and 15 or so raw beef and some cow hide
>sun starts to set, do dig into the side of a hill
>set down crafting table, make two furnaces, some chests, armor, cook beef with some coal I found, make torches
>start digging
>3 hours later
>have reached bedrock and started strip mining
>a full double chest of cobblestone, another chest full of other stone types, a full chest of red stone, 3 stacks of iron bars, 2 stacks of iron ingots, a half stack of gold, a chest of coal, and 25 diamonds
now i have plenty of materials to build a base. spotted a lake not too far from my strip mine, going to build an airborne base over it
Last time I made a pyrimd inside a pyrmid inside a pyrmird with smallest being made of gold then stone then cobblestone. I was gonna make a 4th layer of sande but the third had a base of like 200x200 so you can imagine how long it took me to get the cobble a 400x400 of sand would had been insane. Moral of story enough is never enough.
Yeah, it'll go fast once I start actually building. I was making an obsidian forge to build an enchanting table, and a fucking traveling merchant scared me half to death. All I heard was the "Hrrmph!" that villagers make, looked up and saw the flash of blue and a fucking llama. He refused to get out of the hole I built and lined with cobblestone, so I just burned him alive with lava. A sacrifice to the forge, may its obsidian be dense.

Best decision ever. I'm just trying to make my iron golem farm before I head to the end again, because the last time I went I got utterly buttraped.
YES, I did that shit as well.
This user gets it.
I think it is true, I miss the beta world generation, had more cool shit.
Did they fuck with the cave spawns in the new patch? I can't seem to go more than 50 blocks without running into a cave or hearing a zombie moan under my feet as I walk around. Its not bad for getting easy resources, but it makes tunneling and building a bit more irritating.
You lack autism
can those new roaming bandit fucks open doors? there are like 4 different groups around my base and those fuckers with the axe do like 3 hearts damage per swing while wearing iron armor. don't want them coming in behind me, thinking about putting a block behind my doors after i enter to be safe.
When you finish your base and it doesn't fill you with accomplishment but instead just emptiness and you don't want to play the game again for months. How do I overcome this?
Take only the essentials with you, set off in a direction you haven't gone yet, walk for a few in game days, then start over. Eventually link it all back up with either rails or a skywalk.
>still filled with immense guilt after sharing the coordinates of a beautiful base only for it to get griefed
Please forgive me, Yea Forums.
I don't think so, sometimes they're right outside my front door like some damn jehovah witness and they never open it
it's so easy to get the best gear now, just find a spawner for an XP farm and mending books which are also easy to get now
yeah, just got 1v6'd leaving my base, lost 30 levels but managed to get all of my items back. got shot by a dude with an arrow in the back while I was waiting to block the axe dudes attack. at least after they raped my corpse all but one guy fucked off. still don't know why they're even coming after me, i am 450 blocks from the nearest village, there are no woodland mansions nearby, like what the fuck they aren't following their basic spawn rules.
How is minecraft for windows 10, when compared to regular minecrfat?
maybe there's a pillager outpost nearby then
Runs better and you have P2P connection
>bandit assholes try fucking with me
>barely fend them off
>proceed to build a fucking wall around my base
Fuck them.
Cliff side with glass wall or bust.
it's an illager patrol that roams the world occasionally
minecraft.gamepedia.com
Why had no one made a 3d terraria yet?
runs better but no mods, there's mods for java edition that make the game run as good as bedrock so i don't really see the point
i thought they only spawned in a certain radius from villages which is where my frustration stems from, since i purposefully set up nearly 500 blocks from a village to avoid them spawning on me all the time. like literally every other day there is at least one patrol outside my door. other user might be right, need to do some checking, see if an outpost is nearby.
maybe it doesn't necessarily need a village to spawn them
>Illager patrols spawn in plains, taiga, desert, savanna and snowy tundra biomes, as well as their variants on sand and grass block, or in snow with a block light level of 0–8 and a sky light level of 10–15. Illager patrols spawn naturally throughout the day or night after 5 in-game days.
I guess you're just getting unlucky with frequent spawns
smol house is comfiest house
Fuck no. They are pathetic status.
Every time I play minecraft I refuse to make a underground base, wood hut, or living like a savage.
Every time I play on a new server or something I immediately start digging and get shit loads of cobblestone and wood planks. I then put the cobblestone in the furnace and make stone bricks. After that I start building a mage tower with 3 to 4 floors and a 5 block in girth staircase in the middle of every tower to go up to the next level. After building 1 tower I start on a second tower and finish that. Then I build a long hall way between the two towers and make a strong ass wall.
All towers are a circle with windows In every direction unless it is connecting to a wall. I slowly start building a grand castle working slowly and slowly this way. After my first tower is done I can call myself "comfy"
My autism knows no bounds. I actually re created clock Town in majoras mask on a server that is now gone many years ago. I am getting the urge to go back to minecraft again.
And of course everyone is always impressed with my buildings in every server.

what are some good house building tutorials for an uncreative retard like me
>this is MY board which means only posts that I approve of can be posted!
Try to copy a house in real life. Keep in mind a block is 3x3feet. So for example your indoors should be about 3-4 blocks high. And stop making squares. Oh and use more then one material.
Literally post above you is a start. Or maybe don't be a 70 IQ brainlette.
the best choice is underwater auschwitz with drowing chambers with iron doors rather than gas chambers with wooden doors
>build medieval castle in the sky
>shear sheep from my farm
>surround the bottom of the castle in white wool
>put water source blocks around the edges
>castle looks like its floating on clouds, and the clouds are raining
>LOL EPIC XD! /pol/ will love me!!!
This shit was funny when I was a based 16 yr old retard. If you are a grown adult kys.
Testifikikes deserve no better.
is this you?
How do I build big lads? Every time I set out to build a giant castle it ends up being a shitty little fort instead. I just like utility and practicality, I don't want unnecessary rooms. What can I put in rooms to make a big build the most practical solution? Also, whatever happened to Tekkit? That used to be the only thing I liked in Minecraft, are there any good mods nowadays?
>How do I build big lads?
Look at an existing Woodland Mansion and try to copy the height and width of the hallways. That's how I got over it.
>translation: i'm an easily impressionable manchild that feels the need to belong to a group
You need to think big, have the hallways be at least 5-7 block wide, always work with odd numbers, get inspiration(aka steal) from other peoples creations.
Literally 10 post above you retard. Start slowly and build stand alone towers first. When you build in this way it opens up more opportunities for expansion.
I made this back in 2011 on a survival server I had set up with some buddies
Still have it saved
>square tower
>not making every floor at least 7 to 10 blocks high
>horizontal windows instead of vertical high windows for a more beautiful look
You build. Like small baby...
kino memories
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*DONG DONG*
>sky castle
Based retard. No one wants to spend 2 minutes leaving or getting back up.
yeah, these fuckers need to go. one group here and another on the other side of my platform.
>not using a water elevator with boats to shoot up to the upper block limit in 10 seconds
Honestly you put more effort in this jpeg than the actual.
>all one color
>not using fence post enough
>pretty damn small and can easily be finished in 20 minutes if you have said materials (all materials are easy ass wood)
4/10 a fail. 4 points for your heart being in the right place. But don't have the autistic brain for it.
From what I've seen of the update so far (I still need to reinstall MC) these guys are way to strong and way to common when compared to the standard nighttime monsters, is this true?
just dont get close to them, they only agro if you get within about 6 blocks.
just let them go on their way, they have important pillaging stuff to do.
also
>complaining about pillagers when phantoms exist
user please
I always have my bases have at least one flak tower and have it connected underground to other bunkers, trenches and supply railways.
this
I freaked out once because they were staring me down but I wasn't so close and I just went my way and they never aggro'd
arrows from the regular dudes do about a heart of damage, and drop the durability of your shield a decent amount (more than a skeleton arrow). the axe dudes that sometimes spawn with them take 3 hearts at a time with each swing while wearing full leather armor, and really fuck the durability on your shield. their range is also really deceptive, about 1.5 blocks, so you need to shield early to avoid a quick chop. they are simply annoying in the early game when you don't have the resources to properly deal with them.
yeah, just frustrating that there are multiple groups all within about a 100 block radius, right near my farm, my mine entrance, and the new house i'm building.
>Thaumcraft
My fucking nigga.
no mods though
imagine living in that ugly piece of shit
why the fuck do people use the default textures
What's the best version of thaumcraft? I heard the last one is unfinished and abandoned.
Do you have this in non shit quality?
they probably play on console
This map has been amazing. I started out in the mountains, but this particular one I chose to build on is on the edge of different biomes. It's a giant, natural platform built between two mountains, and there's been something special to explore in two out of the four different directions so far (haven't played enough yet). If I follow a river south, I'll wind up in a swamp biome where I have a temporary tree fort and hunt slimes. If I walk north, first along my garden, then beside my farm - nothing is complete yet - I'll eventually wind up at a village. And in the NE and SE positions are various cave entrances that all lead to the same series of inter-connected caverns. It's fantastic.
Seed is 114. (196, 256) should be the mountain top where I built.
should I buy it for the switch
Did that on a factions multiplayer server and made it my faction's base and I gotta say it was well worth the effort provided sponges actually do something.
Have this screenshot of modded Minecraft. Not mine. I saw it somewhere and liked it so much that I saved it
Yeah, I'm finding new seeds are yielding biomes much closer together. Posted this a few days ago, the seed name is "DUDE WEED LMAO" in all caps with no quotation marks. Spawn sits in between a river, snow, jungle, and ocean biome with a shipwreck not too far from shore. Sheep, cows, pigs, and chickens at spawn, wolves just north, horses on the other side of the river biome, river is full of fish, and there are ocelot in the jungle. Only complaint is that the snow biome isn't bigger, maybe a hundred blocks or so wide.
and a fourth group spawned behind my mine at the rear entrance. so a group is out the front door and the rear door now. jesus fuck i need to dig another exit. wonder if they will all despawn if i travel far enough away.
FUCK LIGHTS
Are you using the default settings for biome generation? I think I set mine to be 7 or 9 chunks wide. Can't remember. You might have a more satisfying experience if you remake the map with bigger biomes. It'll have the same topography, but scaled bigger.
use lanterns they look nicer
literally every house here has windows like that, are you retarded or american?
Can I get a quick review on my minecraft gamer lounge. My computer is on the left, my bud's is on the right.
I must have water on the brain, I completely forgot this was a thing. Good looking out, man.

>they don’t landscape the area when they build their comfy wood cabin
I had no idea Yea Forums was so casual
If you have money to blow, sure. I got it just so I could play Minecraft on the shitter and in bed. Playing vanilla is shit but if you can get over that its a pretty good version.

How do people still play unmodded? Genuine question.
by being fucking newfags
Why do you care? Genuine question.
>they feel safest maybe
Even this is false, because being underground makes you easier to attack. All anyone has to do is break your entry point, and then gas you.
I'm just curious. I come by these threads from time to time but it mostly looks like vanilla.
I don't have an issue with since I've delt with it when playing with my little sister
>playing gimped 3d terraria
By not liking mods and having played default forever.
You should try some of the smaller mods, like Rustic and Quark.
I'm so bad at being creative
idk
Maybe people here just prefer vanilla? At least the vanilla look anyway.
every thread I see turns into anons bringing up mods and asking why people play vanilla
mods are shit and boring
shut your fat mouth and go back to discussing your kiddy game with other trannies on reddit/discord
Somthing i built back in 2011

>so you can place windows looking out into the vast caverns
>looking out into the vast caverns.
Good to dream big somtimes.
Bless your heart, you tried. I'm not even going to try reviewing that. This is nice thread.
Hint: for computers, you can use a 1x1 painting on a block and stick a pressure plate on the block in front of them. (makes them look like they have a keyboard, or makes the entire thing look more like a laptop)
Though anyone like to guess what im trying to build here ?
Based. Fuck Jannys too

Is there a efficient way of building an artificial lake? It´s been years since I´ve played and I kinda wanted to try a new idea for a house
>raytracing.
>playing minecraft at 40fps max
so do you guys cheat and use creative mode or are you chads who build in survival
First good build in here. Are Zoomers these days really so brain dead and lacking creativity that they can't build anything nice? I'm honestly worried about this new generation.
Just think there are kids now that won't pick up Legos and only play on phones...
>not planting an underground forest and lighting it up so you can have a view from your underground window
ISHYGDDT
I wish i saved this seed. So fucking comfy.
Just close a hole with a layer of blocks put some water on top of that layer and remove the blocks.
Is this supposed to impress someone???
That´s actually a good idea. I´d probably have to make the hole first, unless I happen to find a perfect spot for the lake. Guess a bunch of dynamite would do the trick
it impressed my girlfriend, she wants his dick now
I always went for this when I played, it's more efficient to tunnel out a home below ground than build one above. You can even retroactively turn it into a basement for your mega-castle once you get that far.
>He finally figures out how to spawn a wither after episodes of trying different methods
>He does it in house
>It then proceeds to destroy all of his hard work and his niece's buildings and he's powerless to stop it
Never thought a Minecraft let's play would make me sad
console fags can't mod
are you a fag
Is it possible to mod the game back to its alpha state?
I genuinely preferred it when there was no XP, no sprint, no villagers and no hunger bar. I miss my hollowed out mountain home
Last time I wanted to do a massive underground thing and wanted to hollow out a pretty big area, I couldn't be fucked to do it in survival. It still kind of bothered me so I just grabbed a bunch of diamonds I had, pretended I used them all for pickaxes and threw them away. I'm glad I did because my hard drive fried itself a few days later and I lost that world without ever finishing that build.
So how are you guys playing this?
Singleplayer? If yes, do you just start a new seed in Survival?
If you want all the blocks of water in the lake to be the non-flowing kind, just plant Seaweed.
>spends the next two episodes trying to kill it
I felt genuinely happy and relieved when he finally did it lol
You can torrent the alpha dude...
Minecraft was always held back by incredibly stupid AI
>build a city
>it's only you, and maybe at best a couple of vendor NPCs
>can't make guards who patrol the streets and give the creepers whatfor etc
I'm sorry but look at what you made. It doesn't look nice, it looks like nothing, it's just BIG. A literal 4 year old in God mode makes this shit dude. I'm not impressed I'm more impressed you took a picture being proud of it.
Aquire autism... I mean for fuck sake I recreated clock Town in majoras mask back in 2009. The fuck about this is impressive?
single
Also be aware that generated bodies of water have water source on all height levels. It's important because with my method you'll have a lake that pulls you down and it'd be harder to get back up. If you want to go full autism you'll have to repeat layers for every height starting from top.
Yes, you can still play creative mode.
The launcher lets you play on whatever version you want, you just have to check the "historical versions" thing to unlock them.
Why can't you just use Iron Golems for that?

The Wither summoning starts at #96. For a Blind Playthrough this dude's not at all terrible. A lot of shit in Minecraft is counter-intuitive.
How is the game for Switch? I never really cared about mods since all I do is autistically build bases until I am bored
Does it performs well? Does it lack anything meaningful?
His dedication is admirable
>"Today I will build a bridge!"
>goes thousands of blocks, takes 3 hours to get there
>falls and dies at the end of it
Best texture pack, changes enough but still keeps it looking minecraftish. Only complaint is the texture for iron ore, sometimes it can be difficult to differentiate it from other types of stone if you at mid light while mining. A small complaint.
