A lot of them, if not most are really shitty. Is there one christian game thats ok/decent?
Serious question, are there any good games based on Christianity?

Old doomguy was canonically catholic
Any game with the crusades?
No, because christianity has broken rules and moral foundation. You could say they don't have morals at all.
It doesn't make sense to make a game where you can fuck up the world as much as you can, but everything is forgiven if you confess the crimes. You can just confess everything on repeat and keep acting like a sociopath. It's really shitty by default.
Bayonetta, but that's more based on abrahamic mythology in general
Castlevania.
Yes
>Inquisitor
3.99 on steam, fantastic writing, it's ugly and indie but it has great writing and you get to PURGE THE UNRIGHTEOUS AND ENFORCE THE WILL OF THE CHURCH
>TO HELL WITH YOU
>translated bible
ew
There are no good christian games because the base material sucks and the people who follow it are a bunch of talentless hacks. The only people left to make games around it don't follow/care about it so it ends up shorehorned in and borderline EVA tier pointless references and shallow understanding, so every game is fucking terrible, making an already retarded set of values and stories into pure garbage that isn't even so bad its ironically enjoyable.
Closest to a good one is Issac, and that is how low the bar is.
Fuck off Orthobro
>You can just confess everything on repeat and keep acting like a sociopath
That's not how it works at all. It's one thing if you confess and never do it again, that's what gets you saved. If you confess and you don't truly mean it it's the dogs for you. If you don't try to make an honest effort and penance and resisting sin then you're not forgiven, and if you fuck up as it is human to do after being forgiven but continue to try your best and earnestly mean it you are saved.
It's a very simple thing to understand, how don't you get it? Yeah, you can mess up time after time but until you mean it and until you're honest and actually giving a damn you aren't forgiven for your actions. A murderer who repents and then immediately goes back to murdering isn't forgiven.
came here to post this
fpbp
>orthcucks are still reading the septuagint
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
>source material sucks
Don't tell me you wouldn't A Total War or Mount and Blade based on the Book of Maccabees?
It's not a "Christian" game but Kingdom Come: Deliverance heavily explores the Christianity of its time and place. Fantastic game if you don't mind some eurojank.
Medieval: Total War
CK2
Shin Megami Tensei
I couldn't determine if the actual game is good between all the /pol/ garbage. No one wanted to actually discuss it
I heard Pilgrims Progress is okay.
No thats not how it works either. Once saved always saved. You mention penance which makes me think you are Catholic. Yes, you should confess your sins, repent, and fight sin off. Giving into temptation is running from Christ, and yes if you keep sinning over and over again there is a serious issue that a person cant solve alone. Anyways, what I am getting at is you won't be thrown to the dogs if you keep having problems with cursing and keep repenting. You are going to keep sinning, but by depending on the Lord you will slowly get better at preventing sin. If a person truly wants to follow Christ they will fight the sin, even if they keep falling for the same traps. Its a process that only works with Jesus involved.
That's a shame. It's not perfect but what it gets right it knocks out of the fucking park. I recommend it if you like that style of rpg and are willing to learn a sort of obtuse combat system.
Heres a bad game based on atheism
Not directly "Christian" but a similar relationship between the npc's of the game and yourself as their diety, give Actraisers 1&2 a try. Fantastic games, i don't know why no one has tried to revitalize that franchise.
CK2 but pirate it
bless jesus for all he has given me
Once saved always saved applies to being allowed into Heaven through faith in Jesus. The problem is where is the Grace if you keep sinning without remorse? We'll always make mistakes over and over in our lives, it's just in our nature, but there's a difference between honestly trying and failing in a moment of weakness from time to time, and "trying" but then just continuing to go back to sinning because it's easier/convenient. Anyone could accept Jesus and continue sinning without remorse by justifying it to themselves that Jesus always forgives, but you need to make an earnest effort in addition to just asking forgiveness, otherwise everyone can just say they believe in God and then ask for forgiveness dying as they perform every vice possible in their final moments and go to Heaven because they believed in Jesus.
I'm Christian myself, penance isn't what gets you into Heaven, obviously, that's faith and acceptance of Jesus, but it's needed in the sense that you're supposed to share your sins with others. You're supposed to tell them of your failings and become a better person because of it by allowing someone to hear your faults and clear your conscience.
Dante's Inferno is top christian vidya
First Assassin's Creed. It's not explicitely about the crusades, but takes place during that period and it's pretty cool exploring the setting. It's a shame the newer games loosened up on the historical stuff
Lords of shadows.
loosely
Tons of christian symbolism believe it or not,
rex is a messiah figure or the body/son
pyra mythra represent the spirit/soul or holy spirit. they have a cross shaped core crystal and pnuma has a bible verse written on her chest in greek
malos represents logos or also know as the father
not only is all that true the core message of finding a way forward through forgiveness is represented in the end of the game and is the core message of Christianity
which is all funny because the first game is based on atheism and creating a world with out them, maybe a japanese religion how their gods are evil all the time dont know
Ah yeah my bad, I am with you. I thought you were poking at 'if you sin once its hell for you even if you are saved through Jesus' (which I have sadly heard still preached even today). Yeah more people need to read Matthew 7:21-23, its a really eye opening thing that makes a person question their salvation. I always think of it when I realize I am trying to justify my sin.
Zelda.
Jehovah's witnesses are heretics. Pentacostles are the autists of Christianity. Protestants are all seething faggots. The only good Christians now are Schismatic Catholics since the Vatican has been co-opted by Satan.
Great thread my brothers and sisters. The You Testament was pretty good as far as Christian games go but I would caution any non-believers to take Dickie's interpretation of the scripture with a grain of salt.
Symphony of the Night inspired me to read the bible again, and now my soul is with Jesus Christ
Stronghold Crusaders
Spiritual Warfare. Also, Acts 16:31.
Smells like underage in here.
Dantes inferno
Literally SMT Nocturne
>Fear! Fear god and give glory to him
>Now! When 1000 years have expired Satan will be released
JUDGEMENT HAS COME TO YOU
>the Vatican has been co-opted by Satan.
Not possible. To deny this is to deny Christ's divinity.
All the Xeno games.
>malos represents logos or also know as the father
logos is the word aka jesus you dummy
Christianity? You mean those poeple that sell you a fake cure for a fake affliction that just so happens to only work when you die?
Yeah no wonder Christian games mostly suck, most games with shit stories do.
Actraiser I guess.
yes, dantes inferno
or the first assassins creed, since it BTFO both christianity and muslims
its a 1:1 reskin of wolf3d i thought
go to bed gramps
I have an idea for one
An open world survival FPS (in the vein of ARMA 3, but polished) if it took place in a global government that hunts you down for not worshiping to their tyrant. In this game, you play as a Christian that is trying to survive in a One World Government where all people are trying to kill Christians...I mean...more so than they are already.
In case you don't know what I'm talking about, the Book of Revelation details how the (((Antichrist))) will be a world dictator that mandates a "mark" that is placed in your body (in your right arm or forehead) that is used for transactions AND will put out a death warrant on all Christians.
Get saved, Yea Forums
If you count Gnosticism as Christianity, the Xeno games are things.
SMT, assuming you're not a filthy chaos/neutralfag.
We know thanks to II that Satan exist since he was trying to manipulate the events in his favor, but God hasn't even given a hint of existance.
uhh... was xbc2 your first xeno game? every one of them is a mix of christian symbolism and/or theology and freudian/jungian psychology with maybe some nietzsche thrown in here or there
It's current year, expect all physical form of transactions are still not banned and your credit card is not engraved to your hand.
El Shaddai
yes, it's called suicide
How so?
The you testament.
