Is Persona the new Final Fantasy?

Not even close.

lmao no P5 is the only one to get the normie audience and you still get SJW's calling it homophobic. FF was popular from its inception.

What is homophobic about it lmao

No gay routes. Only gay faggots shown in the game are the two predatory old guys that always end up chasing Ryuji.

The particular audience that's making these complaints just want every piece of fiction to suit their narrative, I suppose.

Isn't Yusuke gay?

Persona 5's done well in that it's the first JRPG in a while to really get attention from casual audiences, mainly cause most attention it got as first was people larping about it's 'cool' transitions etc. You'll find many people mainly like it for it's presentation, since they'll never actually cite what they like about its substance.

No

He never expresses interest in men, but since he's portrayed as 'eccentric' people just demand that he's considered gay.

To be fair, it does have a really fantastic presentation. All 3 of the modern Persona games are really good at their presentations imo.

Persona 2 was good too and not just for not hitler

Agreed, but Persona 3 and 4 didn't receive nearly as much widespread attention as 5 did. But I suppose that could be due to P3 being the first to feature that style, and 4 releasing on PS2 when most people had moved onto PS3. That begs the question: would 3 and 4 have been more popular if they were released later?

>p5
>2.7 million

>ffxv
>8.7 million

Almost every Atlus game has good presentation, it's literally been ingrained as a company staple since the Cozy and Kaneko days.

Yeah, I think the art style is one thing this series has done well with over all. I feel like people complain about 3 being a little "washed out" and drab but when it works it works damn good, like in the tartarus introduction scene.

I'm not sure, but those two would make great remakes with modern graphics, if they had the same amount of love put into them.

One thing I'm interested in for the Royale game is how the dungeons will be different. That was one area I thought Persona 5 could definitely be better at, so I'm curious if they'll get it right this time. If it's not just a soul less cash grab it might actually be kinda worth it, like FES.

No
>Kingdom Hearts III has accomplished much since its release on January 29th, 2019. Not only was it the second biggest launch in Square Enix history (following FINAL FANTASY XV), but it's now both the fastest-selling and best-selling game in the entire KINGDOM HEARTS franchise, having surpassed the original KINGDOM HEARTS, which was last reported with 6.3 million units sold

If they made dungeon exploring feel less restrictive, like adding platforming sections alongside a jumping mechanic, it'd make it absolutely worth it. The dungeons in p5 feel like a weird halfway point, since the movement is barely any better than what we had in P4, yet the exploration aspect is still a nice step up.

Yeah but Disney's automatically going to garner a larger audience, especially when so many people probably saw people larping about KH and decided to buy it themselves cause they were convinced that popularity assured quality.

I think the puzzles could be a bit stronger too, and I definitely think there's ways to make stealth feel more relevant.

Persona 5 was definitely a step up from the last games though, so I've got high hopes. Maybe they could do something like have the reaper show up while you're exploring palaces too?

>not liking daddy hitler
Actually end urself

That reminds me: MEMENTOS NEEDS TO JUST BE BETTER.

That fucking place is so booooooooring. If they could do some cool shit like letting Morgana have some sort of speed up function so you could race around, that'd make it infinitely more entertaining even when grinding.

The puzzles felt so lacklustre, almost as if they were just padding the palace out. It's when the fundamentals of the game started to feel less polished that I started to see P4 outshine it. If things were just more focused and concise, especially in terms of story, it'd make the entire thing more fun.

No, he's european

Yes. The dungeon exploring in 4 and 3 wasn't much better than Mementos, and those could be some of the worst parts of those games. I'd love to see it more fleshed out in Royal.

its just as fucking shit and overhyped so yes

I love Niles so much

DESU I enjoyed P4's dungeons more than 5's purely cause the music was better and it was easier to run around shadows.

I just stopped giving a fuck about the exploration in 5 after a while.

It its almost there, if P6 and maybe 7 are great then it will be

Honestly cheesing shadows in 3 and 4 is almost too easy. I feel guilty.

Is shin megami tensei the dark souls of persona? please respond.

Yes

Nigger

You can sleep with the cat though

gotta release a few more games to find out.

no, its too weeby looking. FF hit mainstream because it looked more western than things like DQ and SMT

Because Nips are based and mock fags openly as they should be. They’re deviating from the societal norm and that causes disharmony.
