I've laid out my idea in these threads several times before:
Inkopolis by the time Splat3 rolls around has become clean and sterile as fuck. Stages aren't even announced in a fun news format anymore, it's just a voice coming over a PA very blandly to list the current rotations. This is because Mr. Grizz has taken over things and is basically enslaving Inkling society to all do his corporate bidding. The plot would involve working with the previous idols to break his control and bring the fun back to Inkopolis.

In the meantime, you have some secondaries who start their thread with "cute and funny XD" and/or a super provocative squid image and those attract all the tourist passerby garbage.

I just remember when For Honor came out without dedicated servers and saw its playerbase drop by 90% when P2P shenanigans got out of hand. There was other shit too like the microtransaction fiasco and the toxic playerbase, but of all things you'll ask a FH player about what they remember most from before season 5 is the horrible P2P connection issues and game deciding lag. I'm just so surprised most splatoon players have been so gracious about the same thing happening to them. Nintendo shouldn't be taking this for granted, though. This goes on to Splat 3 and we'll be seeing the exponential growth rate turn into a logistic before eventually becoming a quadratic. Nintendo may not exactly splurge that much on hardware, but they have to start investing if they wanna keep the golden goose laying her eggs.

It's a combination of the gameplay itself being so fucking good, and the fact that it doesn't happen often enough to turn me away from the game. Plus Splatoon just plain has the best online of any Switch game. I'm still mad about Smash. If it happens for Splat 3, though, I may seriously have to consider dropping it. I refuse to believe Smash's online being as shit as it has been for so long is an accident. When Sakurai puts as much autistic attention to detail as he does into so many other aspects of the game and then leaves basic functionality shitting the bed like this I think it's his way of giving the fanbase the middle finger, I get nothing but contemptuous vibes from him in interviews and shit. Not that the Smash fanbase isn't absolute cancer, but still.

It took Brawl to make him not be a grump to the competitive scene of the game. Regardless how you feel about that side of the community it would be pissing away money if you didn't at least attempted to cater to them and yet he attempted to do it anyway. Even by Smash 4 it felt like he was too adamant to just commit to the idea and made a game that landed in the middle and didn't appeal to everyone that well by the end of its lifespan. Smash Ultimate's online really does feel like another mark of Sakurai just not wanting to accepted the fact that his ideas don't always work and he should just fucking make an attempt to improve.

I don't really have a specific weapon I hate, mostly because I'm somewhat decent with an okay range. Chargers, splattershot pro, inkbrush, dualies, etc. I'm not great at anything but enough to where I can switch to counter a weapon and it'll work. It's just the fucking connection that gets me. Don't even get me started on the constant splatfest d/cs.
Smash 4's was leagues above Brawl but then Ultimate went straight down the shitter. It has to be intentional, they couldn't fuck up that bad on purpose. Right?

someone explain the damn "switch online sucks", I've been playing smash and splat online since January and I never suffered lag in smash unless it's my opponents shit connection no in Splat2n outside of 2 disconnection and slight kill lag once every 100 matches.
What do others suffer of and I don't ? Is it because I'm in Europe ? Am I avoiding it by putting my Switch atop my internet box ?

Like I said, I can get some of it. Smash fans (Meleefags in particular, I know because I used to be one) can be absolutely awful, and it's pretty clear Sakurai doesn't want to work on Smash anymore (though he also refuses to let anyone else take over so part of that's on him). He has no business taking things out on the fans like he does sometimes though.

I feel like I'm fucked if I miss the first shot witha tenta brella. It can one shot at close range, but the rng on the spread can make that unreliable unless I'm right next to them. Kinda think it doesn't deserve the heavyweight speed penalty when it struggles to kill at range and has no ranged subs.
