Enjoy the first one as they each get worse in different ways. Story in 2 is awful, but the gameplay is fine-ish, story in 3 is better and the decision you have to make are nice, but the combat and options you have feel much more limited.

I adore fable 1 and 2 because I hadn't heard about them when I played them.
They didn't live up to the molyneux hype, but if you go in blind, they're pretty tasty little action adventures.
2 is especially enjoyable co op.
I didn't mind 3 as much as most, but the fucking menu system is torture, and it feels eternally as though you ar fighting against the game systems themselves just to do anything.
You get locked into sections, with no ability to even change graphical settings way too much.
All in all, it's s good series that was hoisted by its own marketing hype petard.

One made promises. Big promises. It was supposed to be Xbox Zelda. Instead it was an okay, if too easy hack and slash. The leveling up adding you gimmick is poorly executed at best. 2 is retarded easy if you're a generalist, a bit challenging if you limit yourself to one style.
