No, and that's okay, because if there is one thing Capcom has shown they can't do for shit anymore is good fighting games.
Pretty much this. If we ever got a new Darkstalkers it would have to be a genre other than a fighting game.
I would like to see a brawler, party fighter like Smash or even a moba over a fighting game. All those neat character, gone to waste, they would just die all over again if they released a fighter today.

Reminder capcom fighting games division completely died in the early 2000s and they haven't made a good inhouse game since, SF4 was developed by Dimps and MVC3 by Eightning and all inhouse capcom games like SFxT, MVCI, SF5, were catastrophes.
Reminder Samurai Shodown chads got their new game first before Cuckstarters ever will due to actually giving a damn about their games.
SamSho is a fun series it deserves a new game. The Darkstalkers will get their time though however long it takes.

What's the problem with being displeased about a product that is objectively inferior to the prior ones? I agree that it was an overreaction, but MvCI was simply not up to par.
It's more of how fucking low this fandom went out of their way because it wasn't up too their hyper autistic standards instead of simply trying to handle the situation rationally instead of being a complete sociopath and sending death threats to anyone that has a different opinion.

Darkstalkers will never get a new game, the little shine it had in the nineties could only move japanese tourneys in terms of FGC faggotry, now in terms of appealing the casuals the characters ended up becoming biggger than the Darkstalkers brand itself, as in Morrigan, Felicia and sometimes Demitri are likeable enough to appear in many crossover games that a casual fan will be satisfied regardless of the actual Darkstalker series not ever getting a new game again.
Morrigan to this day gets shoved in crossovers, gets merch once in a while, with Felicia coming close in second, they are a brand of themselves at this point, Darkstalkers got pushed to the side.
Darkstalkers would be a good fit to get reinvented as an RPG series
What the hell, go play Disgaea then as it almost has the same basic premisse of fighting for a throne in the first game, leave Darkstalkers as it is.
With the way capcom has been pandering to the west the last 3 years I'd hate to see the modern designs of the female DS roster
