Reminder to turn off 'cinematic' bullshit in your games

Reminder to turn off 'cinematic' bullshit in your games.

For this movie game "A Plague Tale Innocence" ->C:\Users\(you)\Documents\My Games\A Plague Tale Innocence

Edit "ENGINESETTINGS" with notepad, go down to Motionblur, set it to 0, Fringe 0, Film Grain 0. There ya go, enjoy the game without that crap.

Motion blur is fine
Film grain is garbage
Wtf is fringe?

what about chromatic abomination

>Motion blur is fine
Its really really not.

Fringe is chromatic abberation, they just renamed it

post a before/after pic for comparison

>motion blur is fine
I turn it off in every game I play because of how gross it is

Motion blur is terrible you retarded fuck.

You see motion blur in real life. When it is implemented well, things look much more natural with it on

Ansel turns off postprocessing so you cannot make comparisons when doing super resolution pics, but trust me, it looks sharper and better.

Yea and it looks like shit in video games.

Motion blur rarely looks good in games, unless it's Cryengine. They've done Object blur pretty well.

going by your logic the 4 parts of webm should be the same since we see motion blur naturally

it can't be seen naturally through a screen flashing static frames at you, but it can be simulated

C U T E

why? what's the difference between motion and motion?

How is the game?

Wrong, you only seen motion blue done wrong with camera motion blur and not per object motion blur

The blur you see in real life is not the same as motion blur in video games. The way your eyes focus and move is nothing like what they have implemented.

Object motion blur is fine. Ratchet and Clank did it very well.

Decent for a movie game. Kinda hand holdy with puzzles. Gorgeous. Decently optimized.

Get it on sale.

Yeah I thought about getting it for 20$ physical some day. It seems nice enough.

yikes that looks bad

Motion blur is bad because your eyes should be the one creating it for yourself. Blur in general is retarded, especially if you are wearing glasses

>can't kill
>movie game
fucking kys plebbit

>1st person
motion blur off
>3rd person
on
fight me

Except it can't your eyes can't make it naturally looking at a static screen

Except it's impossible for your eyes to create motion blur themselves by looking at a screen. It has to be simulated.
Not like you ever have time to focus on the details of what's being blurred anyway, nor would you be able to focus on said details if it were the same situation in real life

>Fringe
Nice. This removes the chromatic aberration right? There was no option for that in-game.

nigger the characters are walking around slow as fuck there shouldnt be blur in the first place

2bad already finished it lol

Kind of impressive how good the game can look considering it's not UE / Cryengine.

I'm talking about when motion blur is used appropriately. There shouldn't be any on a slow walking character

>Doesn't post an example of a game that looks better

LULW

you can make rats eat people, also
>plebbit like it's an insult when literally moot himself was a redditnigger

Yes. That's chromatic aberration, and setting it to 0 disables it.

>take screenshots of action moments in game
>they all look like shit because of extra effects

most games dont use UE4/CryEngine..

Stuff like vignette/dof/grain should be kept enabled to be desu. It looks too unnatural otherwise (too sharp / clean / synthetic).

Attached: 20190519011708_1.jpg (1920x1080, 146K)

that's why I didn't add vignette/dof, grain doesn't add much at all and is barely noticeable but just obscures detail

Attached: 2.jpg (3840x2160, 3.36M)

Most games do.
The few games which don't, instead use quadruple-A in-house engines like REngine, Anvil, Frostbite.

forced grain is cancer. why would you not want realistic graphics to look as clean as possible?

Why no ryona of this?

Because it'll never be realistic enough. It'll always looks computer generated. Nowadays it's all about using tricks to hide both details and rendering errors (DoF, blur, grain, bloom, grain, etc).

>twitch emotes
>reddit spacing
Wrong website shill

thats why photo mode is a thing

>p-pls use the correct form of posting on Yea Forums

neck yourself

I like motion blur, bloom and lens flare. Fight me.

Grain is shit though.

If they put that stuff in there, there must be a reason, retard

c-cute...

Attached: 20190521213935_1.jpg (1920x1080, 204K)

bloom is shit tech that was used as a band-aid effect years ago before we had anything resembling a good lighting system. It just washes things out

>play an inherently cinematic movie game
>turn off movie things

Attached: cat confused.png (382x417, 325K)

It looks great in stills, but in motion it looks kind of ass. The animations are Gearbox tier. Especially jarring because of how pretty it is otherwise.

Well it's true I mostly play games from years ago so nevermind.

she would be if her face weren't scarred like an old soldier

flat lighting

say that to her face and not online and see what happens

Attached: 20190521211926_1.jpg (1920x1080, 171K)

Lighting is fine; Light plays a major role in the game.
It's just that the 4K screenshots have some kind of reshade filter on which make the image look too clean.

edit them to what you think looks better, I want to see what you think looks better in terms of lighting

Motion blur creates depth.
Things close to your face blur when moving quickly.

that looks terrible
