with all the new link support, cards and Dark Matter they'd be the best deck. they can never return as they were,

Dark Matter is banned and he is never ever coming back, just like Lavalval Chain.
Snow is also banned forever, so I really don't see any way to do anything exceptional with the Rulers.
Even with 3 Super Rejuv and Omega and the Guarddragons.

Summoning the rulers from the deck or grave or even banished zone is not exactly useful.
You can't even make Pisty or Elpy with them, only an Agarpain and Agarpain's arrows are mediocre at best.
Their best play is probably making dracossac, summoning a bunch of tokens and then going into 4 man Skulldread. And if I wanted to do that I'd just play the Dangers.

Contact fusion has existed for a long time as well as archetypal polys that generally are pretty good with resources plus cards that search those as well as cards that search poly

I never got into the card game up until 2015. I just watched the anime and collected a few cards, but the shit never wowed me back then. Same shit with Pokemon, never was fully invested until gen 3 or 4.

summon one from the deck, use it as link material, then revive it from the grave for even more link summoning, possibly even banishing eclipse wyvern in the process to get further advantage. free monsters is always a good thing and the problem with rulers is that they can never truly be powercrept as long as you have generic dragon support and need extra deck fodder.
