If this is the Xenoblade 2 thread, I did some more messing around with the save editor. I tried going to the actual first area in the game, "On Gramps's Back" (region is "Gramps"), but outside of any cutscene or battle. As an explorable area, it plays the music for Fonsett Village. There isn't anything to do other than walk off his back into the Cloud Sea and swim around. It has no map data.
Next I tried returning to the C.S.E.V. Maelstrom, but I need to change my coordinates because I appeared below it and fell into the Cloud Sea.
After that, I tried the Ancient Ship again. There are no NPCs, but the Megalo Aligo miniboss was still there with a unique monster symbol. The door that Malos and Jin get Rex to open remains closed, but without the cutscene activating upon approaching it this time, you can walk right through and the next closed door as they have no collision detection. If you enter the Sealed Room like this, you'll get a location notification.
Then I tried Dreamworld Elysium. It has a map at least, even though there's not really anything to do. I really like the aesthetic though. Really makes the idea of Elysium feel special. There's nothing special when you approach the tree with the hill without Pyra, but the town and church seem much farther away than in the actual area.
Finally, I went back to Indol. Most of the normal NPCs are gone, though a few remain and the various shopkeepers, background NPCs, and auto-talk characters are still present. You can still salvage and access the collection points. And now that I understand the Alrest alphabet, I was able to determine what the signs at the refugee camp say.

Be sure to arrange his arts so he has the topple, recharge on crit and extra damage on toppled enemies arts equipped. The crit recharge art in particular is Zeke's bread and butter, at max level either of the art's two hits being a crit fully recharges the art. Couple that with a high crit rate core chip and crit rate up aux core as well as an heal on crit accessory and you're practically invincible.

It gets kind of hazy when you consider that Blades don't change significantly between each resonance, so their previous resonance had the same element and overall design. Just look at Brighid, Aegaeon, Roc, Haze, Vess, Wulfric, Akhos, Patroka, Sever, Obrona, Perdido, Cressidus, Theory, and Praxis. You also learn about the past lives of Blades like Perceval, Herald, Jin, Kasandra, Sheba, and Dagas (sort of). In terms of the in-game universe, Core Crystal resonance isn't random. Roc's Core Crystal will always summon him. The whole Thought Cloud idea therefore doesn't make much sense in-universe. It doesn't seem to be tied with the potential to be a Driver at all. A person with the aptitude to become a Driver can summon from any Core Crystal. So even if Amalthus resonating with Dark Blades only makes sense in terms of personality for Malos who was summoned for the first time, it doesn't make sense for Minoth who is a rare Blade that was presumably created from countless Drivers.

Personally, I see him as being more of a counterpart to Pyra/Mythra than to Rex. They both form bonds with others that give them their own motives to pursue the 'purpose' that was given to them by their original drivers - Pyra/Mythra meets people who give her a reason to love the world and want to protect it, Malos meets people who give him a reason to have a personal grudge against the world for the way it fucked over his friends, instead of just a detached sense of 'gee, these humans sure do love death!' fueled by the instincts that came from his driver.
There are obviously some differences (Pyra and Mythra's main goal basically stays as 'protect the world by defeating Malos' from start to finish, while Malos adapts his to fit what he sees as Jin's goal), but overall I think their development is actually pretty similar when you look at it closely.

I have to admit, I'm kinda getting what some of you see in Nia now. I don't think she's the most attractive girl by a long shot but she does have the best character arc and personality probably. Not finished with the base game yet and haven't played Torna, but so far I'd rank Rex's girls as Nia > Mythra > Pyra.
That said in terms of outright design/looks I think I lean towards Brighid. She's hot as fuck but while her design has plenty of fanservice, it feels more elegant and dare I say tasteful than many of the others.

I could understand Jin's plight due to his apathy for the whole Blades and Driver system, the cycle of rebirth, and the passiveness of the Architect and how he suffered because of it which was tipped over for him with the death of Lora and similar to Amalthus too but I'd never really thought much of Malos as a narrative device besides being a pure villain for them.

The way the dub's translation of Rex's response to Malos's question about whether he can forgive Jin (and by extension, Malos) misses the whole point of how Rex is unwilling to forgive him honestly really pisses me off. It's supposed to be a sentiment like "I can't forgive him, but that's just life, we need to move forward" (i.e. not get caught up in the cycle of revenge), but the dub really muddied things up when it didn't need to.

Not him, but my interpretation was that he had finally accepted himself as the way he was ("There was only one Driver for me."), gave it his all, and still lost with a smirk on his face. He couldn't fault himself for losing because the party showed him their ideals through their own strength and managed to overcome him and the ultimate weapon. Maybe in the end, he was just a way to test if the righteousness that he so longed for could prevail over the injustices and hatred he represented, and he knew this in his final moments.

I've never played Xenoblade X so I can't say anything about it.
Xenoblade 2 is pretty much the same as the first one. Pneuma and Logos functions differently compared to the other blades and has a more grandeur and almost foreign considering most of their abilities defies most laws in their universe.
