Game made exclusively to promote movie/other media
lego games
Toy Story 3
Alladin, Lion King, and Pinocchio.
Not that Alladin, the other version.

This game isn't as good as I remember it being when I was a kid. I want to like it but maybe it just doesn't click with me. Seems hard to not get hit when you have to get so close to the enemies to kill them. And then the whole bullshit save/password system only makes it even more difficult to get through.
What am I missing here. Can any hardcore PSX Hercules fans share their wisdom with me so I can finally beat this game on normal for once in my life?
perfect vidya, amazing memories
Peter Jackson's King Kong
The LOTR GBA games are fantastic.
Genesis version Aladdin > SNES version Aladdin
The Mummy Demastered. The movie was exactly as terrible as was expected, but the game is practically unknown and shockingly, it's a really solid Metroidvania.
GBA Ecks vs Sever, it's actually better than the movie
GoldenEye
The warriors
007 everything or nothing
Ps2/gc/Xbox chamber of secrets
That 4 player Narnia game
Ps2 spiderman
>shitty platformer with awful stage design
>better than peak capcom era platformer
I'll never understand why the genesis Aladdin gets so much praise
There was a Narnia game?
Battle for Bikini Bottom
>The Warriors
Can't really promote a movie with a game 26 years later
It was like the ultimate Alliance marvel games
...
Riddick, Vin Diesel personally involved in the production of the game since he himself is a nerd
Huh. That's kind of neat.
It was still a good game, though. Don't know why they made it or who their intended market was, but it was solid.
>game made to promote the movie
>it's actually better than the movie
I remember it got a sequel based on the prince caspian movie, remember playing it on the ps2 but I don't remember if the gameplay was the same
A hat in time despite promoting chopping of genitals
cute girl
spiderman 2
lotr
lego games
star wars
007
disney games (lion king, alladin, toy story, etc)
comic book games
spongebob
jurassic park
the warriors
avatar
Stalker series
There's actually a lot of them. Some video games are better than the movies/anime they're based on.
Batman NES.
Riddick.
batman returns game for the SNES was a great beat em up.
Open Season
Came here to post this. I love Genzoman's take on the mummy in the promotional art and the music is top tier.
The game also had no business being as good as it was even if it was a bit too derivative.
youtube.com
it’s by the Shantae devs, so no surprise there
basically any PS1 tie-in title.
Hercules shared the engine with Tarzan.
Bugs Bunny Lost in Time, Toy Story 2, and Sheep Raider are legitimately great games of the era, etc.
that is factually wrong
>the 9/11 level
Raimi was pushing it there
the jack skellington dmc-like game made by capcom.
>start the mission
>see the planes heading for the Twin Towers
>all of a sudden my controls stop working and spiderman land a safe distance away
>"I wish I could stop those planes, but the Bush Administration ordered me to let it happen."
What the fuck was with this game?
>You shouldn't have flipped those pizzas Parker
>Now I shall flip this entire American pigland on it's head in the name of Allah
which one?
Isn't that the one where Jack had some kind of magic whip, and if you did something in boss fights, you'd have an impromptu QTE / musical number?
Did you not get to Vietnam?
Ironically it's better than the movie
Marketing material for a card game, I’ve posted it on here a few times. It’s really good.
Always hated them honestly
You get a sword in it.
To be fair, the card game was also really good, and it's a huge shame it died.
King Kong video game did a lot of interesting things
>vocal ammunition checks
>instakill creatures
>segments where you had to just straight up run for your life
>ammo scarce. Spears are better.
>great atmosphere for the first half of the game with gloomy rain and having to shout over the storm. off in the distance you can see the ship horns blaring as they try to figure out a way to get you off the deathtrap
>tons of cinematic shots
>motherfucking JAW SNAPPING and rage mode
great game even if it did scare the shit out of younger me
I play it again at least once per year.
What is ?
Shrek 2 on consoles
this
the dinosaur segments were the best
>tfw never experienced a dinosaur chasing you into a little ancient building where it tries to dynamically fit its mouth through the crevices in a game before other than a movie game
why did no other game do this
Also
>Alternate ending where you get to fly a plane
>Stalker
that's really more of it's own thing though, isn't it?
even if you could just switch the aliens with the Chernobyl incident
Because Virgin animation, despite having legit shitty level design. The final levels feel like they just ran out of time and just decided to rush it. People who say the Genesis version is better have never actually played the game to completion and just assume it's better because fluid animation.
This. They're the only enjoyable 3D platformers on the market today, and that's sad.
Even in the 90s people preferred graphics over gameplay.
Nightmare on Elm Street for the NES is still one of my favorite platformer/beat em ups ever made.
Plus sick ass David Wise OST
youtube.com
the raptor maze parts were terrifying
ALSO the V-Rex stalling part at the first part of the game threw me for such a loop
>out of ammo. cant force it to stop and roar anymore
>try playing chicken with it by ducking in and out of a small doorway
>after about the second time the motherfucker just body slams it destroying it
>OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK IT CAN FUCKING DO THAT?!?
>fucking die making a run for the door
>this motherfucking boss takes me like 6 more tries before I realize im supposed to exhaust all the options one by one in order to buy enough time.
That's fucking wrong in so many levels
I loved it, I think that I still have a the CD in my house, good memories
I liked Judge Dredd on SNES.
The Matrix: Path Of Neo
Reign Of Fire
yeah.
there's another? the gameboy advance game was made by another.
Best Batman game.
Yeah this game was gud
no way and i think genesis is my favorite console
that had terrible mindless combat
i think this was to promote the 2003 cartoon
All the Harry Potter games.
Is the GC version good?
It was an hour long and the designs really didn't translate well into 3D, but it was pretty fun for what it was and perfectly captured the atmosphere of the show.
Snes Lion King
A Bugs Life
Raimi Spiderman 1/2
Batman TAS (TV show, but still)
Spongebob Movie
A solid few Bond games
It was actually great, shame there is no 'full' game
Wait... THE Genzoman made the artwork for the game?.
I feel ashamed for not realize.
X-men 2: wolverine is better
>One of the greatest action games ever made
>Made to advertise one specific toyline
The box came with a flier for the newest Devastator toy. That's the reason it's called Devastation and the fucker's on the cover.
Not gonna lie, James made me start playing this again.
The Incredibles for Ps2/gamecube/xbox
Was there a video about TFD recently? I'm all about recognition for it, so do you mind linking?
I've beat that game several time when I was 10 years old, surely it can't be that hard? Just keep trying I guess
>based off the ride
>is actually pretty spooky (especially for 5-6 year old me)
>fun gameplay and level design
>challenging
>gave you a ticket to see the Eddie Murphy one.
Seriously find or emulate this game
>all
I would say up to PoA. To GoF if you wanna be generous.
Yeah, I guess.
oh yeah I member playing this when I watched konosuba, niiice
Sheep Raider is literally the best licensed game ever made
Spiderman PS4, spongebob battle for bikini bottom and garfield kart come in close too
Scott Pilgrim. Played that game a lot too bad it's off all platform stores.
I think the PS4 and Xbone ports came out around the time of the first movie.
The console versions of the Iron Man game based off the 1st movie. Apart of the PS2 and PC version they are nice.
Sheep Raider is a fucking masterful game that came out of nowhere. The music and animations are insanely good for PS1 (although it was like 2001 so the hardware was figured out by then).
The King.
Spiderman 2
Virgin had the graphics but Capcom had better gameplay
This game was a bigass Tezuka crossover and I love it.
>You get to slap Wonder 3's shit
Shame you can beat it in 2 hours without trying that much.
This was my birthday present the year it came out and 5 year old me beat it on the same exact day, I was so mad.
I mean, it's operating off of NES RPG standards which aren't the best, but for the time it did a lot of neat things with the genre and is one of the better RPGs on the system imo. At the very least, it's better than the fucking movie.
Honestly I don't know how you're having difficulty with it The only hard part in the game is THE GODDAMNED TITAN FLIGHT FUCK THAT SHIT, I STILL CAN'T BEAT IT!
Came out around the Thomas Jane movie and was very entertaining. I remember some of the executions being incredibly violent like shoving a guy into a wood chipper.
the riddick games are pure kino
vin diesel literally built a game studio to make sure they were done right
I'm enjoying that world war z game more than I enjoyed the movie but not as much as I enjoyed the book. Does that count?
Make way for some more kino boys. Except the WireWolf level, fuck that level.
It was all for the Anniversary. The 2003 anime, this game and Pluto by Naoki Urasawa were all made for the 40th anniversary of Astro Boy. 2003 was also the year Astro/Atom was born in the manga
The Lion King for Genesis was fun as Hell too. The final battle with Scar was done awesomely. Some levels were hard as fuck too, especially those where you had to bounce on the Hippopotamus' or whatever they were to make it over the water...you could barely bounce high enough on the last couple to make it to the next platform.
Altogether a great Game indeed.
Who the F*CK are you calling a virgin?
The Punisher for the Genesis was fun as hell too!
Also if you care it's easy gamerscore on 360, gonna try to find a dl of the pc version.
>tfw no transformers games are available digitally anymore
