Guys I'm loving this game. It is probably the most complex action game ever made. Nero feels infinitely better than 4 and very different from Dante. Dante is literally best Dante ever made. The only difference between him and 4Dante is the inertia but that is not a problem at all. All of his weapons are great and are very, very different from each other. King Cerberus is my fav weapon along with Cavaliere.
I still find some flaws in this game. Some of them really piss me off and some of them are just little details. Yesterday I completed dmc1 in hard mode and HOLLY SHIT the enemy design is good. This is my biggest complain about 5. Enemies are braindead. They stand there to be hitted. I noticed they don't interact very often in group fights, and if it's a one on one fight, then the fight will be piss easy.
The other big issue I find in the game is the level design, and the way they look. Maps are almost fully composed by corridors. The game doesn't put you in different situations (like in 1 and 3), so there is no variety in the levels, giving the feeling you are playing Bloody Palace with cinematics. Aesthetically very repetitive. Copy-pasted textures everywhere. Every Qliphort level looks the same and there are no memorable zones besides Dante's house.
I find some of the weapons a little bit umbalanced. King Cerberus can auto parry with revolver and Faust is too overpowered. Also DSD has the worst prop shredder being locked behind a dial combo

DMC has always been that way, to be fair. Vergil being let off the hook just because Nero wants everyone to get along felt particularly stupid, but I thought the overall story was fine.

Styles were pretty cool yeah, i like the fact that the styles didnt get nerfed(like trickster in 4) and now they are more and that they are more independent from each other
ENemy design and diversity were the best in this dmc

Yes. Enemy's are hyper aggressive just not on normal difficulty. Normal mode is more for first playthroughs and for training
so your basic look is just vergil with different hair lengths
Not really until the hardest difficulties but then its like you get hit because you cant see shit and 1 hit can ruin everything. If you like direct fightning do not even bother with the series. It is not about that. Well maybe some bosses. But it is about flying around and doing combos without the worry of framedata or being comboed by an opponent.

I dunno man, DMC5 has god-tier character and combat design, best soundtrack in the series and is the first DMC with real modern triple-a budget and polish.
Story was a bit of a miss for me but still a comfortable second place to DMC3; and yes, the tourneyfags wont shut up about inertia and reversals being gone.
But DMC5 is EXACTLY what we needed, both for the genre and the series. Provided capcom doesn't fuck it up, Dante's reinvigorated after a long-ass nap and ready to crush the competition for another decade or more.

To be fair though, Nero did have a confused face a lot of 5 but that's also because the entire game Nero was basically dragged along by all parties all of which never really shared any information until the end.

Despite being rushed and having some awkward dialogue at times, I still quite liked DMC5's story.
The V/Urizen idea was geniunely cool, and actually a pretty neat way to make a Vergil redemption story seem more credible. Even if the game didn't have enough time to properly explore the idea.

If you only care about S rank just farm a couple of style points until you reach S or SS shoot him with Ebony for a while and then drop hat meteor on him.
The style ranking is kind of dumb, but the mechanic is that you gain points by how many hits you do at different style ranking. So D rank give like 10 points per hit and so on. If you're at SSS just spam ebony ivory and you'll get a lot of style ranking.
If you want to cheese it even further, farm royal guard on the tentacles and shoot them till they die. You can farm up to 10-15k style points so it doesn't matter how badly you do against Urizen

Am I the only one that thinks if Vergil knew he had a son it might've changed a lot of things for him? Maybe it would've taken some getting used to. I think he would've been protective, but also teach him how to one day protect himself. He'd be stern with him but it's all out of love because he may not always be there for him. He might have even been proud to see Nero grow into a strong man because he raised him. Or that it was his genes that made Nero like he is.
It is still fairly out of character for Vergil to fuck a random whore and dropped her. You can easily retcon DMC3 without significant problem saying that Vergil was looking for power to protecc his family. Even Dan said so in his reddit AMA livestream, it would be out of character for Vergil to just impregnate a random whore.
I think it should've been a few missions longer to tie up loose ends. The only part that felt rushed was the last 3 missions. Maybe some missions taking down the tree. Some more cutscenes where Dante, Nero and Vergil actually talk it out to drive home the point of "there are other ways to settle your differences". Vergil is playable during these missions. Giving the ended some closure instead of "wow we get along all of the sudden".
Vergil didn't care when he Dante told him he had a son lol they continued fighting anyways until one of them got killed.
It was clearly a bluff. He went from "Thank you Nero" to "muh son mean nothing to me" in the heart of battle to "if I beat you, then by default I beat Dante" to dropping his poetry book for Nero.

This is a well documented problem with REngine, seems like a CPU bottleneck on single thread processing power. The latest patch fix it a little bit, but mine still drop to the 50s in Malphas level.
To check open any perfomance monitoring software like MSI afterburner, and look not only at your overall CPU use, but individual CPU use. If one of the CPU max out when your game chugs then it is a sad day for you because this game, especially the later Qlipoth level was pretty heavy on single core CPU use
