Nothing

Everything

Better than SR3 but that really isn't saying much.

Saints Row 2 succeeded because it captured the "fun above all else, even if it means slightly bending the rules of reality to make you feel like you are playing an action movie" spirit that the early Grand Theft Auto games had. This was a breath of fresh air as it was in direct competition with Grand Theft Auto IV, which abandoned that spirit in favor of an ultra-realistic approach that didn't resonate well with gamers at the time. Unfortunately, the developers ran with this idea and with Saints Row 3 and Saints Row 4, each subsequent game became more zany and random, that now the games feel more like an obnoxious cartoon than the slight bending of reality that SR1 and 2 had. Now that GTAV has walked back some of the ultra-realism design aspects that 4 had, there's no reason to play Saints Row anymore unless the "so random" humor appeals to you.

Shut-up, Yahtzee. SR3 still feels better to play than 2, you'd know that if you didn't have dementia.

>people like our games because they're a more lighthearted, arcade-y gta
>LET'S TURN THEM INTO A FUCKING CIRCUS LMAO

nobody likes to play a game that seems to smugly wink at you with every line of dialogue or story

Who the fuck cares.

How much of a dumpster fire is 5 going to be?

Rockstar abandoned it's original design becasue of shit like Saints Row being carbon copies of what they made. They went with ultra realistic simulations and it has payed dividends. No game ever feels like a rockstar game, they make sure they stand out over the competition

Nope. Sorry, Volition, but if you keep appealing to the "lol so random" Reddit communities, your series will never surpass the peak that was Saints Row 2. You are basically making wacky cartoon games for Rick and Morty plebs at this point.

Have sex

>This was a breath of fresh air as it was in direct competition with Grand Theft Auto IV,
GTAIV was doing something different, Saints Row wasn't. It was copying every about rockstar. How is that a breath of fresh air you twat?

Stop posting and also have sex

SR 2 > SR1 > SR 4 > SR 3
Saints Row 4's ONLY redeeming factor was allowing us to go back to stillwater, even if for like 5 minutes.

>your series will never surpass the peak that was Saints Row 2
3 sold way better than 2.

obviously you did not play San Andreas or wonder why its so well receive, still more so than 5.

nothing, 3 and 4 are fun

>that tweet telling us to subscribe to the YT for news soon
>they had job listings a few months ago for an open-world title
Is 5 happening?

Only real issue with it as a game is that it uses the exact same city as SR3.

Though I wish they had split the president saint vs aliens and superpowered saints concepts into two different games

It was obvious 5 was happening as soon as Agents of Mayhem flopped. Expect it to be announced at E3 and it will likely come out around November.

still have no idea what they were thinking with that game.
I've even completed it, but it's not a fully thought through idea.

I like it never played any of the other saints row games just like having super powers and killing things

It's a Saints Row game

Massive budget cuts combined with a general lack of vision. It didn't really know whether it wanted to be a shooter or a supervillain sim, and it wasn't equipped to do either as effectively as its competitors.

It was too perfect. Made Gat Outta Hell and Agents of Mayhem sell like shit.

The fact that it was a glorified DLC is already wrong

3 had a bigger marketing budget than 2 and it was also a sequel.
