I don't think anyone seriously thinks that Life is Strange exists solely to satisfy closet pedos and the existence of a sex scene between people above the age of consent (with no actual nudity or penetration visible) is for people to jerk off to and get sexual gratification out of. It's literally a 2 minute scene from a 14 hour game. Meanwhile you can look at almost every example of Japanese games being banned for censored for five seconds and can clearly see the entire purpose of the game (let alone a specific scene) if for sexual gratification.
