I feel the same. It's enjoyable enough but it's no replacement for the original. If it was going behind the shoulder it should have gone all in like RE4 instead we get a less developed version "to keep tension up" which holds back the game. I can't see myself replaying it as I do RE2.

they over did it by adding him to the first scenario.....why they changed that from the original I will never know. the game was better when you had no idea this dude was gunna show up in the second scenario and he was going to pursue you....much better atmosphere and adds another depth to the game.

It was alright yeah, but the original felt more complete. This remake felt like it was missing a lot of shit, specially at the end. And the A/B scenarios were just missing altogether. Compare this to REmake, which instead of removing shit added more stuff to do. I just hope they don't ruin 3.

The gameplay loop of interacting with monsters is far more involved and rewarding in r2make. It falters in other areas but there's certainly a solid reason to prefer it.
