it's because none of them can program, so the backend event/quest code is all fucked up and adding scenes/extending plotlines takes forever and breaks earlier content
even textgame devs who use real porno pictures suffer from this beacuse every few months they try to refactor the entire codebase or redraft all of the game's mechanics/stat systems
who would've thought that people who can't code would be shit at planning/making games

It had days and hours like a regular dating-sim, but the code was structured like a VN with every day written out.
If something could happen multiple days, then the author had to copy that thing and change all the labels (it used renpy) to not clash with earlier days.
Trying to go back and edit one of these events must have been absolute hell.
