Gay Related Immuno-Deficiency?
but will it have cockpit view
hope it's on the level of their F1 games regarding realism
this could btfo gran turismo since they always make good career modes with actual racing weekends
>final boss is literally fernando alonso
lmao
if they got it on board as a consultant then maybe the game's gonna be more realistic
nah fuck that. We need good old arcade racing games
Pretty sure Grid came out like 10 years ago.
WHERE THE FUCK IS RAVENWEST
GRID 1 was soulful as fuck and I use that term unironically, and the sequels were pretty close. This looks like they took all the uniqueness out to try to pursue the GT simcade audience, forgetting that anything that isn't actually GT or Forza tends to die quick as fuck.
I bet it's gonna have a fucking licensed soundtrack, too.
Well i surely hope it's adjustable so it can accommodate autists and shitters like me. Previous games are not very realistic but seeing how their recent games went i think it can change
no livery editor no buy
GRID 1's original soundtrack was fucking great. It had a shitload of events too, though your teammates can go and get fucked, they demanded a shitload of the winnings. The other ones never felt as complete as the 1st.
>red, white, black Porsche vs not-Compuware Corvette
Did someone say RACING KINO
youtube.com
Just fucking let me build my own racing team, hire sponsors and a teammate and rise up the list of my chosen kind of motorsport like in grid 1.
F1 2018 is very scalable with the assists
it can go from arcade to almost sim
Very nice but what will the gameplay be like? Sim-cade like GT or Forza? Sim like Project CARS? Something in the middle? Something between Arcade and Sim-cade like the original games?
I doubt they would go full-blown-Sim like Assetto Corsa or rFactor 2, so I won't even ponder that.
The best part of GRID 1's OST is that at first you don't even realize it's a thing- you've got the comfy-ass menu theme and the hype end-of-race replay music, but the races themselves were silent other than the engines and your pit crew chief on the radio. Then you start a race that'll give you a license upgrade if you win, and Ravenwest is out in front in their black and red Mustangs or Vipers, and the music starts in all its glorious multi-tracked, dynamic NFS3-style variation, and then the Latin chanting starts while SOMEONE JUST WRECKED, IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS BILLY FUCKASS
both their rally and f1 games went the sim-cade route, they're even more realistic than both GT and forza without assists, they probably wanted to use the technology they developed for those games
they also hired alonso as a consultant so they will probably make it a simcade since that's what the market seems to prefer right now
>This looks like they took all the uniqueness out to try to pursue the GT simcade audience, forgetting that anything that isn't actually GT or Forza tends to die quick as fuck.
this will probably try to take gran turismo's spot since polyphony seems to be incapable of making a single player mode that doesn't look like it belongs in a PS1 game
>only 2 games in the series
>resetting the franchise already
Name one (1) game that lets you do this that isn't a management game.
grid 1
Three, with possibly the worst naming scheme ever. It's like a backwards version of a Yea Forums parody post.
>Race Driver: GRID
>GRID 2
>GRID Autosport
>GRID(tm)
Please please fucking God be as good as the first Race Driver Grid.
until i see fucking ravenwest, i don't have high hopes
the logo change enough is bothering me
I just hired the cheapest chink in the beginning and carried him through the game.
epic
There were these fuckers that pretty much always finished at least 2nd and 3rd if your buddy wasn't up to scratch.
>no gameplay
>racingkino is back
lol
ok, another two (2) more?
Is it going to be better than wreckfest?
the multiplayer is going to be a wreckfest unless they ban zoomers on sight
>Not finding that perfect teammate that was God Tier and could rival Ravenwest but only asked for 33%/40%
>final boss is a real life person in an F1 car
lame
Nope
>Season Pass shit already present
GOD
DAMN IT
I had a guy called David Dempsey, an Irish guy, he was the one for me.
CONTROVERSIAL: I won't care if they're trying to turn GRID into an asphalt DiRT Rally.
This
You made me remember Grid 1 multi where crashing into people is somehow rewarding instead of punishing
>VIP Status
There we go.
Cockpit view is pretty standard in games now, it would be absolutely idiotic if it weren't included.
tracks seem pretty meh
no catalunya, no monza, no suzuka, no spa
I love GRID and this seems very unnecessary.
Unnecessary how?
Honestly, I know I'm unpopular for saying this but I liked GRID 2 more than Race Driver GRID.
US tracks are lame, too
why not watkins glen, or road america, or the usual laguna seca?
What is a reboot going to bring to the table?
A sequel I wouldn't mind, but a reboot I don't understand.
Marketing it as a reboot most likely means it's too different to be considered a sequel
Calling a racing series a "reboot" is a nothing term. Racing games aren't typically connected by a shared narrative and those that are self-contained arcs anyway (like the arc between NFS Most Wanted 2005 and Carbon). The fact that they aren't making this "GRID 3" or "GRID Autosport 2" is relatively meaningless.
GRID 1 had cockpit view
GRID 2 did not
But neither did GRID Autosport.
They even made fun of all the people complaining about its non-inclusion in GRID 2 in one of DiRT Rally's achievements.
But will it have comfykino?
youtu.be
no supergt no buy
>look up DiRT achievements
>Propane & Propane Accessories: Win a Championship in a Hillclimb vehicle.
It's so simple and stupid yet made me giggle.
hope there's VR support and cockpit view.
>Zhejiang
nice
Nah i liked grid 2 the most out of all of them. The drifting was to much fun. I really played 1 and 2 a lot put and loved them. But autosport controls didnt click with me at all so i barely played it. But then again i am more a fan of arcade racing then sim.
Took me a second to see what the connection was.
I played this game on Xbox though
So will it have Demolition Derby?
hope they include hero cars of my childhood.
Read, nigga.
>anime timeskip
>all these missing tracks they can sell as dlc
Fuck this cancerous game, so many good tracks and even tracks they've had in games before are missing and with them already announcing loads of dlc for this it's obvious they've cut it to sell as dlc.
>arcade racers
The most patrician game genre is realistic driving simulator and the most pleb is the arcade racer. Two sides of a coin.
Considering the Viper was basically the hero car of GRID 1 and 2, it's strange it hasn't shown up yet in the trailers or screenshots for the reboot. Maybe GM paid 'em more than Dodge did? I wouldn't think they'd leave it out, FCA isn't exactly afraid of having their cars show up in games and have the shit beat out of them.
SOUL
SOULLESS
>cars DLCs
>tracks DLCs
thats going to be a pirate for me
>Gran Turismo
>realistic driving simulator
here's your (you)
these, unfortunately
fucking dropped immediately
I'm getting really tired of announcing DLC well before release
Hate saying this but this kinda smells of cashgrab.
Which GRID game is the best? I need to play a racing game and I haven't played this series
The first one. It's not for sale digitally anymore so pirate it.
They dumped this info out of nowhere without any buildup. Honestly, I don't feel satisfied after seeing basically a CGI trailer that doesn't really tell you anything or what to look forward to.
Racingkino never went away, unless you're a Sonyfag.
Can you pirate the DLC?
>I don't give a shit about the DLC.
I loved GRID 1 for the cockpit view, it reminds me of PGR 3
I don't remember GRID 2 and autosport, nothing memorable I guess
Yes you get the deluxe edition and they usually update the torrents when new DLCs comes out
But if you mean "can I buy the game and pirate the DLCs to play online", probably not
VW cunts are such shit
Eh, Codemasters generally makes...competent racing games.
Personally I don't think their racing games are for everyone but they have made games I do like (DiRT 2 and GRID 2 mostly).
>everything about the ultimate edition
>fernando alonso
>those tracks
>only 4 actual race types
The only thing i wanted was a good sequel or another Dirt like 2. Instead we've been getting one pile of shit after another(except maybe Dirt Rally). Fuck codemasters.
DiRT Rally is too hardcore to be fun.
yeah pretty much all hardcore games aren't fun for the casual player
I liked Autosport's career.
I PLAY A LOT OF RACING GAMES, SHITLORD.
Got your Wii recently?
I liked the challenge but after awhile i just got bored with the game, there wasn't much to keep me interested at launch. I haven't touched it since then, last i heard they added rally cross and pikes peak so maybe i'll give it a try again.
First Grid is worst of the series. Drifting (I mean in racing events of course) is op. It's unstable but it allows to corner way too fast and stability assist makers it stable. Driving in this game is only fun if you drive slow, exactly what all the casuals praising the game did. Devs tried to recreate the same experience in Grid 2 but it turns out no one knew you could drift in the first one,
Try them all and decide which do you like better. I'd say Autosport>2>1
I can't enjoy any racing game that's not a sim anymore.
You sad, sad man. How do you not get tired of tuning setups and turn apexes?
You have to "turn apexes" in any racing game.
Not if you can slide them with low velocity penalties.
>Alonso, the big bad boss
>can't even qualify for Indy 500
AHAHAHAHAHA, that's what you get for shitting on Honda
I love cars and AC has hundreds of mods, so there's always something new to try out.
Also, sims have way more depth, arcade and simcade games are the boring ones to me.
Driving in VR, in a nice rig with good pedals and FFB wheel is just way more fun than anything else. I still use a lowly T300 but will upgrade soon.
If anything more realistic that Ridge Racer (Mario Kart for example) is tiresome for you then you are as sad as this sim gentleman.
WHERES MY TOCA RACE DRIVER 4
Fuck yeah, I hope it has better tracks and AI than Grid 2. Grid 2 was already great but the ultra poor AI just ruined the experience quite a bit.
This seems to be more track focused, that's good but hopefully they won't remove the city tracks altogether.
And yeah, cockpit view.
Grid 2 had decent AI, Now Grid Autosport. That shit had trash AI with catchup, and overspeed.
damn, and I was already hyped
Seriously?
I can't see how you can have worse AI than Grid 2. It CLEARLY act as if you don't exist.
>Grid 2 was already great
You are retarded
I got grid for free a ffew weeks ago. Is it any good?
Then you didn't play Autosport. You could come out of the corner with the same car as the AI. You coming out 20mph faster even, and they will catch you, pass, you in the straight, and brake later than you with no problem. They just ran on rails.
Ah, see, that was the response I was expecting when I made .
What's the difference?
>You coming out 20mph faster even
Maybe you were 20 mph faster but on the wrong line so you accelerated slower.
I loved battling with AI in Autosport, it's the game that showcases this aspect of racing the best. Never noticed that AI cheats. Played on the highest difficulty.
More car types, a lot more.
I've played their games since TOCA 2, and Autosport literally had cheating AI. Don't argue with me on this faggot, you'll lose.
It was great outside of a few glaring issues. I wouldn't say it's really great overall but the driving physics were fantastic
Someone recommend me a racing game with a proper career mode for the love of god. I'm talking full seasons, working up through the ranks, winnings and sponsorships, signing on with teams, race weekends, the whole nine yards - like you're actually playing out the life of a driver. Everywhere I look it's either simcade racers with boring six lap sprints and no strategy element or full-blown sims with a decidedly multiplayer focus. GRID was actually pretty good in the regard, but still too slanted towards the former.
That's what people hate about it. It's drifty and too casual.
The WSR was also seen as cheesy.
>circuit racing
>simulation
>that gay fucking music
jesus christ
I didn't argue with you, I just said I love the game. Every racing game has cheating AI. Even in Asseetto Corsa they have much more forgiving physics.
Project Cars?
Agreed. Although some of them like Rallying were lackluster.
I don't mind simulation, I can do either arcade or sim no problem. Circuit races are the most boring shit ever, though. Point-to-point sprints or nothing.
I don't MIND sim racing games but an industry dominated by games even remotely like them is extremely off-putting (even if every game was like Forza Horizon it would still be too hardcore to be satisfying if that's all that's out there).
F1 2018 or Project Cars 2
F1 is less simulative, more polished and with a deeper career but it's only F1
PCARS2 has lots of cars and tracks but the career is less deep, but it's a sim
WHERE'S MY V8 SUPERCARS REEEEEEEEEEEE
>having an sub 120 IQ
what sims have point-to-point sprint racing?
AC has some sprint tracks.
There's a decent amount of such tracks via mods and most sims don't have career mode anyway so experience won't suffer.
How hard are we talking?
"Sim racer" is a pretty broad zone.
Give it to me straight, what is the most realistic sim racer I can get on Steam.
Probably Project Cars 2
Even in those games racing lines are still important, user. The F-Zero GX manual of all things even has a segment dedicated to early/late apexes.
Assetto Corsa, probably.
I have zero interest in that game, personally.
No sponsors but you can generate your own championships in AC down to the scoring.
don't bother if you don't wanna spend hundreds on a FFB wheel and hours tweaking car setups
Also what is the best FFB wheel
it's not the most realistic but it's the only one that is actually a game
>rewind
It's trash
>that music
Thanks, I hate it. Where's the proper Grid music?
youtube.com
one you can't afford
If we are talking physics then rFactor 2 is the most realistic consumer sim. But when it comes to the actual game I'd recommend Assetto Corsa due to the quality of the stock content and mods. rF2 is all over the place, iRacing is too expensive and has shit FFB, pCars is bugged and has arguably the worst FFB of any modern sim.
That would be the sim steering system 2 by Leo Bodnar.
But your answer to sharp turns isn't to slow down, try to corner right at the curve, and then speed out like a real car. You jam both shoulder buttons together and steer in the direction of the turn, whipping your machine around the corner with very little consequence.
Instead of hitting the brakes at a specific point, you're drifting/sliding at a specific point. You still need to hit the apex or at least come close or you will NOT beat most of the Very Hard races.
I feel like the difference is that you have much more leniency to come into a turn without knowing about how sharp it is and how fast you should be traveling before hitting it.
Turn one on the Nurburgring GP course would be one such instance. You start off on a long straight then VERY suddenly slam into an almost 180-degree turn.
I've fucked up this turn on a number of occasions in various games where this course appears because real-world braking is not that forgiving.
But in something like NFS Underground 2 I could just slam the car into 2nd or 3rd and sail around the corner without thinking too deeply on the weight or roll of the car as I pass over the kerb. If we're talking about Forza Motorsport 7 I'd probably be on the outside track wall if I wasn't planning well in advance.
In other words it's more forgiving if you don't know the exact layout of the course because the handling mechanics compensate for that. You can come into a turn really hard but still find a way to survive it without ruining your whole run.
Don't listen to idiots who don't know what are they talking about.
It's rFactor 2.
And by the way, there's nothing close outside of Steam, you faggot.
>Assetto Corsa
What is rain
