This isn't the first time the west has spun down but give it a year like 2008 when western games break a ton of records and get mainstream attention for it to flip again. It was just 3 years ago that it look like most the Japaneses companies were losing their fucking minds and it was "over" for them.

yes. And for sekiro the dropoff was incredible. It's still got a decent amount of players though. It's even worse for dmc5 (900 players) and re2 (700)
so if that's the statistic then far cry new dawn is a smashing success (900 players) and rage 2 is a better game than re2 and dmc5 combined (2200 players) and MK11 is on par with sekiro (3300)

Resident Evil 2 remake has only cleared 4 million sales DMC 5 has 2 million. That's entry level numbers for AAA of the west. Now that dosn't mean they are success stories but watching streaming numbers or sales numbers is very disingenuous and just bait posting

No, this is a good thing for Western AAA games. Devs like Bioware who no longer make good games are suffering. Some of them may close down. The weak will be culled and the strong will survive.
A new generation of less shitty western AAA devs will rise in their place.
