Resident Evil 2

Why is it still so fucking good? Is RE2 an example of how to make a pefect sequel?

>Why is it still so fucking good?
It has SOUL.
remake 2 is SOULLESS

Both games are amazing.

RE2 is the most true to life, polished B movie type game ever. Its a bit easier and less complex then RE1, but the production value increase perfect the B movie vibe the enhances the entire experience.

I can't think of any other games where the remake doesn't make the original obsolete.

Every Mario and Zelda remake

i love remake 2, but the original definitely had more soul in some spots

you've gone too far this time, beccafag

I loved Code Veronica too; the Gamecast version in particular.

It's one of only 2 R.E. Games I actually 100%'ed. My Heart definitely couldn't take playing them these days...Yeah, I am a pussy. It wasn't ever really the Zombies or anything moving at ALL per se...It was the subtle fucking noises. The soft groans they make...and worst, at particular times when shit is hitting the fan and you approach to open a door...that fucking sound of P1 taking the last few steps...CLAP CLAP CLAP, then the characters heartbeat kicks in...BA-DUMP, BA-DUMP, BA-DUMP, BA-DUMP....*SCREEEEEEEEEEEECH*; specially if it's double rusted metal doors opening...

I will give Resident Evil's creators this; at least compared to Silent Hill series, which never really managed to freak me out at all...R.E.'s creators truly had the art of how to go about making an incredibly freaky Game, more often than not, not by the Monsters as aforementioned, but the ATMOSPHERE and subtle sounds the composers came up with.

>Gamecast

Wtf, is a GAMECAST user?!

>Dreamcast!

Apologies...I'm a bit drowsy at the moment.

I finished my first run last night, Leon A/Claire B in one sitting. Game is awesome. I like the changes in the remake a lot, left me with some nice surprises in this without the two feeling too different like RE1 and REmake. I liked the NEST section in the original the most, really fun getting through all the lickers on Claire B.
Also what a tune - youtube.com/watch?v=PbQPFpl7Pdg

I feel like the court and Kendo's both match the look and tone of the new city really well. More bleak and clean.

Do you really think people will be replaying RE2make yearly like everyone does the og RE2?

Yeah? It's a fantastic game. I'm still playing it constantly.

I will

Because it was made with love and care, not sacrificing a single element in favor of some questionable agendas or time constrains.

While some could argue that certain elements were streamlined a bit too much compared to original RE1, it's still a very enjoyable, atmospheric and captivating survival-horror adventure.

The fact that the nu-Capcom did not have balls to create a REmake -style re-make for RE2 as well, even after the massive success of the 2015's HD remaster, is such a big shame. They clearly don't trust their audience any more.

At least we still got the originals, plus a very dedicated fanbase that's doing damn good job "remastering" them up from scratch. Here's the DL links to the Source-Next versions:

Besides the one or two HC nu-fags... no.
This time next year, nobody remembers DEmake any more.

it's a god awful game with zero replay value. I do not understand why anyone would suffer through that shit again.

you should add a link to RE2SHDP to your pasta there, since you are using a screenshot from it:

boo.

Why is the replay value zero?

The Kendo area is a bit off to me honestly. But the intro sequence and the extended Claire section of the city was alright. If the RE3 Remake is on the way I do wonder how they'll portray the city as either a clean zombie outbreak or more like the classic shits entirely fucked kind of deal.

>zero replay value
I've already played through it about 9 or 10 times on hardcore.
Checkmate.

Because there's zero variation between playthroughs, even between the characters.
They practically removed the A/B campaigns altogether, and there's no Zapping or randomized mobs either.

congraz, you're an autist with one (1) game.
