I feel like some of those changes are nice and accurate, but the healers and ranged don't seem to make sense along with WAR remaining the same (Being its criticized for being boring now)

On top of that Yoshi DID say they were reworking stances as opposed to removing them. Stance dancing used to be much more emphasized and atm you see it a lot in Ultimates, but thats about it. I would fully expect them to buff defensive stances as Yoshi is fully aware tanks never really use. Either through removing the damage reduction and instead focusing on making each one an integral part of a rotation (ogcd stance swapping)

The healer ones is strange, they want to get rid of the heal/shield meta but this seems like just a blatant buff to AST, nerf to SCH where it doesn't need it, and with no information on WHM I can only assume its bs.

The ranged ones though are the most damning, MCH/BRD (clunkiness aside) are on different levels purely based on the utilities they offer, its like the healer situation but MUCH more visible. IF MCH was never clunky, you would never take it because its vuln debuff is not as strong as a passive crit buff for everyone, especially with how strong crit is. Unless we see a stat adjustment this seems BS. DNC doing something like that every 60 seconds is too strong, it'll turn into a NIN and the dev team understands how strong NIN has been, its been what, 4-5 years of ninja dominance? It'll just make NIN/DNC metas common, with a BRD and then DRG as well. That'd just create an extension of the current meta but replace casters with another ranged.

What I think is going to happen is we'll have 2-3 'meta' comps come up as a result, based around casters,melee, and ranged. The current one has lasted too long.

they made this mistake with HW's jobs and vowed to never do it again, because it prevents people hopping on board specifically to play those jobs from, well, playing them. So SAM, RDM and BLU only require you to be level 50, which is their starting level,and are accessible in ARR zones. You don't need to have even completed Ultima weapon yet either.

This brings up the question on what level Gunbreaker and Dancer will be. 50 would mean simply the above requirements as above but 60 means less job quests they have to do.

They won't. The reason for that is because Viera have no tails so tails don't occupy a data slot therefore they can let you choose ears instead. It was never a model limitation, it's because they can't change character data specifications.

Samurai to me is so much fun compared to DRG that ultimately my suggestions would be just "Make it like Samurai". Not in terms of selfish DPS but just in terms of fun. I love how I can vary up my rotation as Samurai. You have 'mini rotations' that you can mix up as you need to. 1-2-3, 1-4-5, 1-6, varying depending on if you need to add the 1 token dot, 2 token aoe, or 3 token burst. Right now DRG is so slavishly chained to the exact same rotation with not a single moment of deviation allowed. And as you said, you fuck up once and the CD alignment is out of whack.

And don't get me started on AOEs. Samurai gets the 2-token AOE (Tenka Goken) which you can pull off in about 12 seconds, you get Hissatu Kyuten which you can pull off fairly frequently given it's 25 kenki, you get Mangetsu, Oka, and Fuga. All of these are frequent use. Then you have Hissatsu Guren which is the rarer AOE due to the cost + 120s cooldown.

DRG gets doom spike and sonic thrust. That's it. Rest are on far longer cooldowns (shortest is 30 second Geirskogul) comparable to how long it takes to get Hissatsu Guren.

2023ish is likely to be final expac.

5.0 is 2019. 6.0 will be 2021. 7.0 will be 2023. That's as many expacs as FF11 had (5), Yoshi said 7.0 is when you go to the moon but he said after SB he needed 2 more expacs to tell the story (which would end at 6.0)

It's okay but you have to be special in the head and have loads of time. It's really fun grouping with people and staying together in an environement of monotonous grind rather than breakneck mechanics. There are also almost secrets to eureka zones, things you can learn and share your knowledge about.
At least those are the reasons i liked it and i'm looking forward to what they do in SHB, hopefully logos actions from the start and a level sync really. Sorry but we need a party lvl sync.

I mean no wonder things are boring, no wonder you want to alt+tab. Chaining stuff pushes the individuals in the group to perform in order to make the chain faster, more efficient, more exp, more lootboxes (fuck those).
When you've all been at it for 30min and you see others syncronising with you, cooldowns in descending order, like a single 8man rotation. When your party of stranger morphs before your eyes into a machine of death that has no breaks, the tank feeding mobs on one end and gold coming out the other. Now that's grinding.

Because the game is designed that way. Difficult encounters require it to beat enrage in a reasonable amount of time and healers that don't do damage will spend 90% of their time doing just absolutely nothing instead.
If you're asking why the game is designed that way I couldn't tell you.
If you're asking why a healer needs to do personally do damage in light of that then the answer is because not doing so is pretty much just trolling your group. You don't want your healer to alt tab while the rest of the party is working hard.

As for the rotation argument i see thrown around well yes in FFXIV, in combat you do your rotation that's how it works. Really all we're doing is picking up and droping our characters in various parts of the arena all fight long.

Spire really should be made into an instant use card that refills a lit bit of a job gauge, or just one unit of a gauge depending on the job. It might fuck with rotations, but it could also lead to some interesting setups.

It will absolutely fuck with rotations and the majority of MNKs and SAMs complain about Arrow already, and I once had a BLM complain about it too. It would also increase dps of some jobs more than Balance would and make tuning encounters difficult. People in this game generally hate having their rotations fucked with because it's so muscle memory based.
