Well, technically we had those back when Super Mario Maker 1 was first released, and it was glorious. Also, OP, the Yea Forums community contributed many good levels to SMM. Just stick with us and you'll get some decent levels. Kaizo shit and r*ddit auto-levels were lambasted here.

Kaizo can be fun but there’s way more to Mario Maker then that.

Fuck it’s gonna be fun. I wanted those comfy snowy night levels back and it’s a tile set now.

Tempted to get a Switch stylus but I’ll see how it feels making levels on the TV or with my finger.

it's almost like it isn't compatible at all with the other Mario games and in fact is an outlier. You'll get your extra mode soon.

If you make a legitimately difficult level with no easy way out or author shortcut to upload it? Well maybe you’re a dick, but at least you’re an honest dick that had to brave your own hell course to upload it.

I can think of loads of level designs where you have to work together to reach the end, or one person is trying to stop the rest from completing the level, kinda like those CS:S trap courses

here's a thought, you have to be able to complete the level yourself to share it right? so does that mean if it requires 2 or more players to finish the level, it can't be uploaded?

I never make shortcuts, but I did make one level where you can skip half of it if you successfully get all the keys. If you don't, you're sent to a punishment room with a giant flying Bowser that chases you until the end. It all leads to the same goal of course, but one path is the more difficult one, and the other instantly brings you to the finish.

Optional challenges that bring you to the end > shortcuts.

Last I checked you can't make levels where you're required to have 4 players. Pretty sure you need to make one in single player mode and have to beat it on your own.

You could probably make some levels where it's highly recommended you bring a friend along, less you get absolutely curb stomped.

The one thing I want the most is for those levels that require you to glitch through some wall or something to be filtered out. I remember this one stage, where it was super fucking hard to play through. I slogged my way through, and finally reached this point where I couldn't proceed. There was literally no way through. I am quite positive the nigger used sort of exploit to beat it and required you to do the same.

I'm ready to crush the dreams of these retards who think they know how to make a level.

the most annoying are "Pick a door, 1 leads to the exit while the rest kill you".

shell bounces and shit are advanced techniques
panga is infamous for that, but his levels are always tough but fair

There were no shells near this point. Just a wall that you couldn't get past. You would always die.

Going to take a year just for creators to get a grasp on how new elements interact with each other. Will be magical.

Mario Bros X seems to combine SMB2 with other styles pretty damn well. No excuse.

like whenever i see moon runes on the screen, 9 times out of 10 it means i'm in for a level that has like fucking 1000 things on screen at once. just complete excess. easy levels having a billion one up shrooms, hard levels having forty septillion koopas, no escape from gookspam

Mario Bros X has no regard for cohesive level design though (like most mario rom hacks)

The new SMBX 2.0 level editor is pretty damn good. Way better than the old one

I'm more interested in competitive kaizo levels, where instead of just one asshole, the level designer, you have to put up with four.

dislikes won't show up on videos because it would hurt people's fee fees. the dislikes will only be used to identify bad levels so that the game don't give them to you unless you search for them
