When does this game start getting get fun?

When does this game start getting get fun?

Not trying to be a douche but I'm 3 hours in and bored out of my mind. The desert is visually bland and there's hardly anything to explore. Every quest I've been given so far is either go here get the thing or walled off behind an impassable speech check. I appreciate the refined combat and shit but my god is this game on a slow boil. It feels like a fan made mod more than a standalone title.

And why does my character move at a fucking crawl?

>he fell for the obsidiot meme
Drop it OP. new Vegas was the worst thing that could happen to the franchise. It's nothing more than a glorified expansion pack made by people half as competent as Bethesda.

>When does this game start getting get fun?
when you reach new vegas, but not by too much.

I just enjoyed fallout 3 and wanted to play something similar. Fallout 4 was bad and 76 is an utter catastrophe

Hour many hours is that

Doesn't matter just run to the strip

Fuck off dude. I always talk shit about how overrated NV is, but it's literally no better or worse than any of the Bethesda games.

Bro, Bethesda games feel technically 5-10 years old when they release. You are playing it now? Bro, that makes it like 20 years old. This shit didn't age well. Fuck, it was aged when it released considering it was essentially just an expansion for a game that was already out.

You're character moves at a fucking crawl because the people who made it are incompetent.

Breh, Fallout 4 and 76 are just as fine of games as 3. Now, they aren't great games, but they all play the same. Actually they progressively play better, but relative to when they came out they are similar quality. The whole Fallout 76 is an abomination is literally just internet circle jerk group think. It's not great or anything, but it's no worse than any other Fallout game.

Fallout 76 is literally the most technically broken triple A title ever released

I'd say it gets fun once you reach NV and reunite with Benny, and meet Mr House. If you're there and still aren't feeling, then drop it.

Honestly the game is good but not great. I enjoyed it but don't see why Yea Forums praises it so much. It's filled with bugs and glitches that make some quests unfinishable and at times damn near unplayable. The first half of the game is a slog and at the main quests with the rocket ship ghouls it feels like it comes to a grinding halt. Honestly there are far better games out there and I enjoyed Fallout 3 and 4 more

for me, the combat carried it until the story started getting interesting.
idk I've been playing 76 with my gf for a while now and it's pretty chill. even the pvp mode is alright.

Fallout 3 infinitely feels more like Fallout game. It gives you the feeling of feeling helpless and alone in a postapocalyptic world. NV doesn't do that.

>I'm 3 hours in

Im 400 hours in, git gud fag

idk, Come Fly with Me was a fine quest in my opinion. lots of ways it could've gone, which I appreciate and the characters were interesting, I thought

Were you playing 76 at release because...

It was perfectly fine when I played it.

Take off the nostalgia goggles grandpa

Played all day. Its fun if you just create a character with an aesthetics, chosen weapons etc and start working towards those as goals. I always found sidequests and general roaming were good for experience and getting some sand in your boots, and then the main quests, and DLCs especially, were when you could "show off" the kind of character you've made by accmplishing quests certain ways, and flaunting your specific aesthetic/skills/perks/beliefs/personality in those super narrative contexts. idk man I love this game to death not sure what you look for in a game but yeah

You guys are a bunch of contrarian cunts.

Oh my god. The meme is true. This place is cancer. You talk shit about reddits upvoting but you cunts do the same shit for (you)s.

Antler is sick, Jason Bright deserves more love to, his voice is soothing and he's just generally quite cool. Also the building is way more expansive and interesting then it first appears imo lots of cool surrounding areas at the repconn site

I will give you Fallout 4, but if you actually think I'm going to agree with you that Fallout 76 is on par with any other Fallout game, you are fucking brain damaged.

and u just handed them another. c'mon bruh

>Oh no! I can't handle people with other opinions!
Maybe you should crawl back to whatever hug box you came from, faggot.

its basically good for roleplaying with some effort, and if you can find love for the aesthetic of a cowboy flavored, post-apocalypse desert full of bustling communities and groups with vested interests

Seething unemployed obsidianbot

i got it for a very low price (in """physical""" form) so i thought I try it out. played it for a bit, my gf said it looked cool so i bought a copy for her too. weird thing is she went in it harder than I did. we've not played for a few weeks now, cause I got work and she doesn't want to play it by herself, but I might boot it up this weekend.

I'm not a contrarian, after playing all fallouts up to NV, my opinion is that the combat carries NV until interesting stuff starts to happen

>roll character with 9+ luck
>immediately head straight towards vegas
>keep to the cliffs to avoid the deathclaws
>go straight to the atomic wrangler in freeside
>play blackjack and clean house until you get kicked out
>pay your way into vegas
>clean out all the casinos
>deck yourself out with implants from the med clinic and guns from gun runners etc
this is the only way i can start a game in new vegas

plus that Space Suit is pretty cool looking. unfortunately i didn't know not to kill the nightkin, but oh well, next playthrough, I suppose

>combat carries NV

Holy shit dude, the combat was trash. The story also wasn't very good.

I've been playing it with no mods or patches ( other than what the stream version already comes with) and have not encountered any game breaking bugs.

>why does my character move at a fucking crawl
I bet you're the person that played 4 first and went back to 3 and NV, then complained why there's no sprint option.

I'm gonna admit the "True Iron Sighs" is an improvement over the ADS in 3. Plus, idk, it just felt good shooting geckos with the caravan rifle, then selling their hides THEN finding out you can tan those hides to be even more valuable.
i mostly just explore and look for skill books, to be honest. that's what I did in 3, as well ( plus bobbleheads, but I haven't found any of those in NV, just a snow globe and a bunch of star caps)

Fallout : Overrated

This. I've always cared about the exploration in Bethesda games above all else, and for the most part, it delivered in my opinion.

Fuck off, this is a New Vegas thread now. Post your gunfu.

I'm simple. Slap on a scope and I'm good to go.

Fuck off.

When you start roleplaying

Based

Degenerates like you belong on a cross.

>M72 Gauss rifle in the back
Muh dik

yep. exploring, being rewarded with start increases and best of all, unique perks is the best part of these games. Then come the interesting characters and locations, then the quests

ratslayer 4 life

oh shit did the BoS want ED-E? i was just about to go there!

>hardly anything to explore
How do zoomers even?

I'm 28 hours in and I kinda feel the same about the exploration bit. Say what you will about Fallout 3 but there are far more interesting buildings and landmarks. But everything else is far better in New Vegas.

They want ED-E once you unlock all the audiologs.

I hated it first time I played it. Now it’s my favorite game of all time. It’s literally oozing with soul.
Playing F1 and F2 really make you appreciate NV. New Vegas is the true Fallout 3.

>tfw no lucky toting gambler gf
This world has nothing for me

Get to New Vegas asap and poke around some of the casinos. You can ignore the main quests that lead you to it. Just follow the main road that leads you to NV. You should know by the time you are approached by the different factions in regards to the war between NCR and CL

>it's pretty chill
People who use "chill" to describe games are obviously incapable of understanding why people would prefer New Vegas over Bethesda drivel. New Vegas is not for you, go play your simpleton games and have fun "chilling", you mongoloid.
