These are all games that I keep going back to over the years. I'm currently playing Wrath on a private. Vanilla WoW was alright but I'm not chasing some dream like a lot of Blizzard drones seem to be.
Sucks that the game is infinitely better playing as a magic user 9 times out of 10. Tech was so comfy but no magic train was a bummer.
>5/5
Smash, Kirby, Dragon Age, Banjo, Warcraft. I do love the vanilla and TBC experience, but I liked what Wrath did to speed up the 20-70 experience as far as the dungeon finder if you didn't want to do quests. I think anyone who appreciates those three versions of the game are based, I stopped following the game after Wrath.

Not even comparable my dude. THUG1 is for nostalgiafags who only play Tony Hawk for the story mode and repostan dank eric memes. THUG2 on the other hand is a complete package, has a campaign you can jump into and complete objectives at will and get a feel for the levels where it really matters, the Arcade classic mode.
Austin Fisher

I see Xenoblade 2 is your favorite, and while I love the traditional Xenoblade games a lot, 2 being my favorite Switch game, X being more overtly sci-fi appealed a lot to me, especially the way it wasn't afraid to be dark and unsettling all the way through. Everything about the game helped enforce the idea that humanity was truly fighting for survival in a hostile alien world, from the lore descriptions of the items you picked up, to the environments and enemies themselves.
Overall plot had a shit ton of issues, the main numbered Xenoblade games are more balanced in that regard, but no game gives me the feeling that X gives me, and I enjoyed the exploration in that title the most.
Nathaniel Williams
I'm looking to get into Saturn games. What do you guys recommend? Is emulation at least good enough?
Kayden Hall
Shit I love modding. Speaking of it, do Deus Ex or Dark Messiah have anything of a modding scene? Especially for stability because I've heard bad things about Dark Messiah on that front.
THUG2 took a lot of bad mechanics from THUG and ran with them. Like every damn level has some bullshit that takes you off a skateboard and on to some dumb shit. Soundtrack is worse too.

Does kinda matter though. Replayed both of them lately and enjoyed them both but honestly felt like THUG2 was just held down by a lot of different bullshit. Also think the graphic style was worse but that's pretty subjective. Same for the OST, especially because neither is the best in the series that goes to THPS4.
Joseph Ramirez
I'll start with the 3x3 and then post the big one this time. Playing Ninja Gaiden for the first time, it's actually even better than I expected. I like the level design a lot, there's a weird balance of flow and commitment to combat, I just got the Vigoorian Flail which is my new favorite weapon, and Rachel isn't as bad as I was lead to believe, outside of her awful run cycle.
3/3 (the Sakurai games); I played GR1 Remastered at a friend's and liked it. I'll probably get 2 some day.
4/5 (+Tetris +Wario +Kirby +SML2 -Gen 1); I should play Firebrand's games.
1/2 (+Comix Zone -MK3); never liked how MK series played, old or new.
2/2 (Bomberman, Paper Mario)
4/5 (+SMB3 +Duck Hunt +MM2 +Punch-Out -TMNT); I think Mega Man 2 is a bit of a basic choice since 3 & 4 are both better but I see the appeal of it.
4/4 (Rondo, Contra, SamSho II, MMX2); very nice, especially Rondo & SamSho. Shinobi III and Alien Soldier are on my emulation shortlist this Summer.
3/3 (KI, SK, Cuphead); KI2013 is fucking great, I wish it wasn't XBone/W10 for its entire life.
4.5/5 (+Smash +V.Joe +++W101 +DKC2 ~Platinum)
Might as well ask after all this time: What's Rengoku like? 2/2 (GnG, DMC) as always.
2/3 (+SF64 +MMX4 -SFA3); I prefer Alpha 2. I should play S&P.
1/3 (+SMB3 -Gen 1 -WoW)
Guardian Heroes and the Panzer Dragoon series.
4/5 (+SM64 +NMH +IT'S TRICKY +Brawl -GTAV); ah, a fellow SSX patrician.

I've played a couple (Gunstar, Guardian Heroes, Astro Boy) so I know that there's great things there. If my Thinkpad can handle N64 emulation then I'll definitely dive into S&P and Mischief Makers, on top of Alien Soldier and perhaps that Yu Yu Hakusho game.
Tyler Evans
>Trying not to drop out of college. Hates gamer culture but likes to indulge in conversations about game rosters. Owns a gun. 8/8
only the second part is correct. in fact i'm almost done paying off my student loan. if i get that second job, it'll be paid off by the end of the year. i should get a gun though while i still can.

yu yu hakusho is a must. its combat is basically a spiritual predecessor to guardian heroes as well as the bleach games. plus it has 4 player vs. the japanese mega drive mini is getting that game.

Metroidvanias don't really strike me as interesting (only really played Super Metroid, Prime 1, and BamHam Asylum if you can count that; only ever played Classicvanias) and while I think Hollow Knight looks like a very well-made game nothing has stuck out at me as something that would click. It's hard to really verbalize, but I can generally see when combat is going to appeal to me in a game from footage.
>You're still a kid at heart. Nothing can ever break your childhood spirits.
You could say that, for better or worse.
>You love superheros but hate superhero movies.
If your definition of superhero is a tad loose then yeah. Superhero movies I'm okay on, some MCU is good, some pre-MCU stuff is solid. I have a huge guilty pleasure love for The Spirit though; that movie is campy shlock to the Nth degree.

Nothing in Thug2 compares to the amount of walking around THUG1 doing singular objectives and forced vehicles that control nothing lke skateboards, and gimmick sections like the stealthan in russia. All this vs being dumped into the map and searching out multitude of objectives yourself. The only soundtracks to make an impact on me were the OG and this one to be desu with you, and the loony looking graphics are definitely a stylistic preference. Even then, i'm more concerned with the arcade mode above all else and this game is packed full of levels both new and old. It's the most complete TH game imo.
>What's Rengoku like?
Hack n slash procedurally generated dungeon crawler that controls kinda like Virtual-on, as in very lock-on based. Over the course of the game enemies drop various weaponized parts with specific attacks each that you can equip to either your Head, arms, chest or feet; each bound to a face-button except for feet which are passives. This allows you to swap parts around and discover how they can all combo into each other. There's multiple versions and upgrades of each part, and the more you use said weapons, they have their own background stats that gradually get stronger.

Battlefield has never been about campaign imo, in the thousand probably hours I spent playing BF4 I only got past the first mission. Multiplayer-wise I thought it had the best gunplay of the series besides BFV, great selection of maps throughout DLC. Started off as a trainwreck on release but today it's still the best Battlefield game to play, lot's of awesome moments. BF1 had great graphics and a couple memorable maps but worst gunplay in the entire series, not because of guns but because range of everything besides sniper is really absolute zero and the random bullet deviation was as bad as CSGO's. BFV has fantastic gunplay but only a couple maps, rest are some of the worst in the series with gridlock akin to BF1's grenade spamming but just taking the same flags back and forth until someone sneaks somewhere else. Planes/bombers at least are still great to fly on those for easy pickings. Naval gameplay is dead, no more "only in Battlefield" moments that this allowed. BF4 excelled in all of the above by the end of its lifespan and currently.
Hudson Russell

a mix of both, the point is the rating system in the end. what games represent you currently? usually games currently installed and playing are considered. if you've played them for long enough or enough times, they probably deserve to go on 3x3.

These threads are supposed to let you boast about your great taste and get indirect recommendations. Just post some games you like.

No it's not. If that's the whole point then anons would fill their grid up with the safest shit for 9's. All that matters is just getting games in circulation for recommendations.

Easily one of the best TPS mechanically, it's everything else most people have a problem with, if they even understand the underlying game at all. This hate is generally coming from a fanbase that wants their horror and not dumb shooty action. The campaigns are bloated to fuck, linear and loaded with gimmicky shit. I'm more a Mercenary apologist.
