Why is "movie game" even a negative term?
I love movie and I love games, and I love games that are inbetween those two mediums.

Because Yea Forums is full of faggots. Uncharted is shit because it's a shit movie, not because it's a movie game.
People want gameplay, not cutscenes. Yakuza just has both. Some games have too much shit that you're only watching instead of playing. It's not so much about a game being actually cinematic in its aesthetic or story or sound design or whatever
stay mad retarded shitter movie games are fucking trash
Go eat a chocolate steak then
Indigo Prophecy at least the first half was a great movie game because it was one of the first of its kind, and made you feel like the director rather than the viewer
It's shit because is both a shit video game and bad movie retard, if you only want story in vidya play visual novels faggot
lol fucking horrible "game"
If I want a deep narrative experience I will watch a movie
I play vidja to mindlessly run around and shoot monsters in the face
Yakuza is good. Are you saying it isn't good or that it isn't a movie game? Because it absolutely is a movie game.
Because during the last gen, especially with the PS3 when Heavy rain was big, AAA devs were really up their ass with "cinematic experiences" being the ultimate form of videogames.
Do you think you're the paragon of taste? If yes you are delusional and if no why does every movie game have to be shit just because it's not what you like in games? Again, is your opinion that important?
Yakuza as a movie game is negative because you’ll get hours upon hours of boring dialogue and filler while interesting is happening. It fucking sucks when you have manually save and your a stuck in some long ass boring conversation
Evidence that games don't need to just be one thing to be valid, and there are people for most kinds of games. I don't understand why people put down games they don't like rather than enjoying and supporting the ones they do. More games more people like can come out that way.
>visual novels
>vidya
no
and
no
yep deal with it retard
Because I play games to play games, and I watch movies to play movies. If you want to make a movie, make a movie, but keep that boring shit out of my games and let me fucking hit things already.
Because "movie games" are terrible as a movie and also terrible as a game.
You could argue that some people are upset at seeing franchises with great gameplay be turned into movie games, but the only ones I could think of are Rockstar games, which imo didn't really suffer much for it because the story was always just tacked on, it's just that now there's much much more tacked on
>if you only want story in vidya play visual novels faggot
Why is story that you watch in vidya bad but story that you read good? If you want to read a story surely you should just read a book instead
Because they are used to reference games with no gameplay but like any term, retards will pick it up and apply it to everything until it loses all meaning.
I used to make fun of movie games a lot but I like jrpgs so I at least question myself about it. Maybe I just don't like western 3rd person games with lots of dialogue.
Nothing wrong with cinematic games, the problem lies in copying every hollywood trope known to man in a shameful attempt at being a "real" movie when the creators couldn't make it in hollywood so they got stuck making games.
