Nintendo made 80-90% of the money they'd make of it by and large..plus given switch is still far more portable it still makes the switch version worthwhile unlike xbox/sony titles that would go to pc, as pc has better specs. The only argument for a lower price is marketing(more copies sold) and time elapsed...but just because a game comes out earlier doesn’t automatically mean its value is diminished.

I really enjoyed it. The combat does a good job of making even random encounters feel involved, and the bosses generally have fun mechanics. It's also got a top tier soundtrack to boot

I didn't have any problems with the story but it seems to be a sour spot for people. Think of it like a collection of light novels: you're getting 8 separate stories. They largely dont interconnect in any way during the main game, and are segregated in their presentation. Each story is personal to the character and no other party members are present during cutscenes and such. Dont go in expecting a single, cohesive plot with a large interactive cast. But I think it works for what it is

Chrono Cross had a single central progression with a few branching paths. Octopath has what is essentially 8 different mini RPGs. It's a completely different format. And again, elements of each individual story materializes into a central theme in the postgame
